The "Burning Barrel Boys" are our latest Wednesday Cornhole champions! It was an intense match, with our champs pulling through in the clutch in the 5th and final game.
It was championship or bust for the "burning Barrel Boys"
"We So Corny" is now a three-time champion after taking down "Game of Throws" in the Winter '19 cornhole final. When asked about how they got ready for last night's games, our champs mentioned quitting carbs for the week. Despite them getting a bit cranky, it sure paid off!
In all "We So Corny" finishes with an unbeaten 8-0-2 record along with a whopping +25 point differential. That number dwarfs the +8 posted by "Game of Throws", who finished second in that category.
Through the season our champs remained at the top of their game. They were near perfect, but "The Great Cornholios" and "Stay Dangerous" put up quite a fight with both games ending in 2-2 ties. Aside from those slight stumbles though, "We So Corny" couldn't be stopped.
Finally, "We So Corny" wanted to acknowledge their wives and children for their continued support, braving the cold weather to cheer them on at last night's champion! Congratulations on the win!
"Maized and Confused" is our latest Thursday night cornhole champion! Even as the #1 team through the season they had to fight through a tough playoff bracket to win it all.
As the regular season's top team, "Maized and Confused" earned a first round bye while a few other teams were busy knocking each other out of the playoffs.
After the bye, they faced "Kernel Knowledge", fresh off their win over the "Awesome Cornhole Club". Despite the tough matchup, "Maized and Confused" looked in top form, taking down the regular season's 4th best team by the score of 3-1. On the other side of the bracket the #2 seed "Lords of Bagtown" was able to stave off an upset, knocking out the veteran squad "Boss of the Toss" in a fifth and final game.
In the championship "Maized and Confused" was put to the ultimate test. With the match tied at 2 apiece, it was do or die time. As expected, they pulled through in the clutch, securing the 3-2 victory in the championship match!
In all our champs finishes with an 8-2 record, as well as a +15 point differential. That ranked first, just ahead of "Boss of the Toss" with a +13.
Congratualtions to "Maized and Confused" on the incredible season!
The "Unprotected Sacks" are our Friday Cornhole champs, taking down "Team B" 3-1 in some very close games during the championship matchup.
All season it was almost a forgone conclusions that "Unprotected Sacks" would be in the championship to defend their title. They were by far the best team, slowed up only by a 2-2 draw to "Team B". Things did get a little hairy in the playoffs though, where "The Great Cornholios" forced a 5th game before falling 3-2 in the semifinals. Other than that they couldn't be stopped!
Overall "Unprotected Sacks" finish with a nearly perfect 9-0-1 record and an impressive +21 point differential. That's more than double the 2nd place "Team B" who ended with a +10. The win also marks back-to-back championships, proving just how dominant of a team they have been for a couple of seasons now. Congratulations to "Unprotected Sacks" on the incredible season!
"Purple Maize" is our Wednesday night Cornhole champion! They had a close call in their semifinal matchup versus "Team A", but once they got past that hurdle they took care of business in the final.
"Purple Maize" started the season off as well as they could have hoped, and in turn that put them into great position for the playoffs. They began with back-to-back 3-1 wins, followed by a 4-0 sweep. After that came a 2-2 tie against the #1 regular season team "CornHub", so definitely not something to complain about. "Purple Maize" would have the last laugh anyway, defeating them in the most important game of the season. They would go on to finish the season with an unbeaten 6-0-2 record.
In the playoffs "Purple Maize" found themselves in a dogfight with "Team A". Both teams went back and forth, but eventually our champs won out!
Thanks to the intense first round game, "Purple Maize" was able to stay dialed in for the title game. It certainly helped, allowing them to cruise to a championship victory over the #1 ranked "CornHub". Unfortunately for them, they just couldn't keep up and "Purple Maize" Was crowned league champion.
Congratulations to "Purple Maize" on the incredible season!
"We So Corny" is our Tuesday Cornhole champion, capping off a perfect regular season with back to back playoffs wins. In all they finish at 10-0, completing a perfect season!
"We So Corny" began their season as well as they could have hoped, defeating a couple of other tough teams (and eventual playoff teams) by the score of 3-1 in their first few games. After the 3-0 start, they were clearly the team to beat. It's even more telling when you look at their +24 point differential, outpacing 2nd place (Game of Throws) by 9 points. That's quite a large margin.
We fast-forward to the league final, which was between "Pub Scouts" and "We So Corny". All four games were extremely close and competitive, with both teams full of Xoso veterans and also friends. In the end it was "We So Corny" who pulled out a 3-1 win over "Pub Scouts" to win their second championship for Tuesday night Cornhole! Even better, their families were present to cheer them all every step of the way!
Congratulations to "We So Corny" on their incredible flawless season!
"BustHerPosey" is our latest Thursday night champion, taking down last season's champion "Maized and Confused". The win was also doubly sweet for our champs, as they avenged last season's early playoff exit to this very team by winning it all this season!
"BustHerPosey" had a bit of a rough start to the season, opening things with a 3-1 loss to "Lords of Bagtown" and an overall 1-1-1 record. In that span they'd also tie the eventual #5 seed "Amateur Corn Stars" 2-2. It was back on track after that start though, ending the season with three wins and a couple more ties.
As the #3 seed coming into the night our champs didn't have the added benefit of the first round bye. Despite that, they made quick work of their first two opponents of the night by winning each game 3-1. That included a strong win over #2 "Lords of Bagtown" who were quite the championship hopeful. Unfortunately for them, they ran into quite a buzzsaw.
In the championship game "BustHerPosey" stayed hot. It seemed like tonight was just going to be their night, and when all was said and done it was a 3-1 championship win! Congratulations on the fantastic season, proving that it's not about how you start, but how you finish!
"Unprotected sacks" is our Friday night champion, taking down the defending champion "Corn BALLS" in a game that went down to the wire.
After narrowly losing games 1 and 2 things looked dire for our heroes. However, they gutted out back-to-back wins in games 3 and 4 and soon found themselves in a 5th and final game to decide it all! In that 5th game "Unprotected sacks" stayed hot, closing the game out and picking up yet another championship in a thrilling final.
Overall our champions end with an 8-1-1 record. In many of their games they looked dominant, sweeping their opponent six times, including once in playoffs.
Oddly enough their lone loss this season was at the hands of their championship game opponent "Corn BALLS" where they lost 3-1 in the first game of the season. Aside from that it was just a 2-2 tie with "Holey Guacamole" that was their only blemish the rest of the season.
Congratulations to "Unprotected sacks" on the championship, proving once again they are one of our top cornhole teams throughout all our leagues!
"We So Corny" is our Tuesday night champion, taking down "The Great Cornholios" in an epic championship match. Both teams had strong 3-1 wins in their first round match ups, leading to an intense final. As two of the top teams all season, they were destined to meet.
Throughout the season "We So Corny" was unbeatable, picking up 5 wins along with 3 ties. They also finished with a league leading +19 point differential, tops in the league. Not once did they drop more than 2 games in a match, and thanks to that they were to top seed going into the playoffs. Their first round match up wasn't a cakewalk though, as they faced off against a "Game of Throws" squad they tied with earlier this season. This time they took care of business, notching the 3-1 win.
On the other side of the bracket "The Great Cornholios" took down "Pub Scouts" for the second time this season, punching their ticket to the final after doing so.
The championship game was a back and forth affair, and after game 4 the stakes were raised. Eventually it was "We So Corny" who would triumph, making the key throws to secure the victory.
Congratulations to "We So Corny" on the league championship! We wish them the best of luck next season as they seek to defend their title!
"D-Bagz" is our Wednesday Cornhole champion, taking back the title after losing it in last season's league final. This time, with a convincing 3-1 win over "CornHub", our champs didn't let it get away.
Overall "D-Bagz" finishes with a 9-1 record, their only blemish thanks in part to their championship game opponent "CornHub" in the first game of the season. After that is was all smooth sailing, sweeping 6 of their next 7 opponents. Even with the great record though, they still entered as the #2 team thanks to that loss the first night of the season.
In the playoffs "D-Bagz" took out "Shuck It", a team that's never easy to defeat. They'd follow that up with their strong championship win over "CornHub", capping off the incredible season. Thanks to the strong ending to the season and into the playoffs they finished with a +28 point differential, tops in the league.
Congratulations to "D-Bagz" on the fantastically dominant season!
"Maized and Confused" is our Thursday Cornhole champion, fighting their way to the top after entering the playoffs as the #3 seed.
In the first round of the playoffs "Amateur Corn Stars" beat out the well-seasoned "Lords of Bagtown" in the first round, potentially due to low moral from the sad news that one of the Lords is moving! We wish him well!
As for "Amateur Corn Stars", their playoff run would stop after that win, falling to the top team "The Mutha Shuckas" 3-1 in their 2nd round matchup.
On the other side of the bracket "Maized and Confused" consistently cut it close, going down to the wire in all their games with 3-2 wins. Ryan came in particularly clutch for "Maized and Confused", sinking more bags last night than he had in the entire season combined.
In the championship game they took on "The Mutha Shuckas" for all the glory. "The Mutha Shuckas" won two close games in a row, and it seemed like a losing battle for "Maized and Confused."
But, like every sports movie climax ever, the underdogs started to come back. First it was a game 3 win, then a second win tied it at two apeice. Finally, our champions would complete the comeback, winning their third straight game in a row to claim the title! What a game!
Congratulations to "Maized and Confused" on the winning not just the championship, but the the coveted Ears of Corn for a Family of Four as well!
Bags and Beards dominate two of the three games in the championship versus Hole E. Bagmeisters that took place on August 16 at Wild Wings Cafe. The scores were 24-5, 9-24, and 21-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the Fall 2018 season of Cornhole starting 9/13.
Special Thanks to Savannah Brewery, Riverwatch Brewery, and Wild Wings Cafe for providing a fun atmosphere for our teams to compete in.
"Cornhub" is our latest Friday Cornhole champion, fending of the competition with ease in last week's playoffs. As the favorite all season they didn't disappoint, finishing with a 9-1 record along with a league high +19 point differential. That's more than double the next two teams in that area, both tied at 8. In other words, nearly unstoppable.
The playoffs were no different, though Daniel flew solo all night. Either way he started it off with an easy 3-0 win over "WRONG HOLE!". In the championship game he took on a formidable opponent in "Down to Shuck" that finished 7-2-1 through the regular season. However, that record didn't mean much in the championship game, with "Cornhub" steamrolling them too. Props to "Down to Shuck" though for playing individually to match Daniel playing as lone wolf. In the end Daniel proved his team was far and away the best team this season.
Congratulations to them on an incredible championship season, especially as a team of indys! Well done!
Throughout the 6 weeks of duking it out on the boards, Bomb Pops (1) did not lose a single game. Teams like The Corn Dogs (2) and Baggin' Ain't Easy (3) were in efforts to reach the top but fell just short. During the tournament on week 7 Orville OG's (6) made a surprisingly deep run for the gold after being knocked out in the second round just last season. Baggin' Ain't Easy lost their first game to Orville OG's but turned on the burners as they carved their way through the loser's bracket to the championship. After going bag-for-bag in a tight first championship, Baggin' Ain't Easy shocked the world by upsetting Bomb Pops. Due to typical Double Elimination rules, Baggin' Ain't Easy was forced to face Bomb Pops for a second time in order to seal the deal. After 30 minutes of trading points back and forth, Bomb Pops beat Baggin' Ain't Easy for the second game, securing their title with only one loss in the tournament.

It was a great turnout on playoff night, with plenty of fans out to watch Tuesday night's playoffs. In a great championship match-up it was the "Tea Baggers" who came out on top, knocking out "We So Corny" 3-1. While the "Tea Baggers" were new to Tuesday nights, they certainly aren't new to our leagues, having won our Thursday night league on multiple occasions.
The "Tea Baggers" were certainly a favorite to win it all, but they hit a snag early, picking up a mere tie agains "The Great Cornholios" and dropping a 3-1 game to "We So Corny".
Eventually they would get back on track, leading to a championship game revenge match. In the playoffs "We So Corny" was taken to a 5th game by "Pub Scouts, but they managed to fight off the tough opponent. That would be where their run ended though, as "Tea Baggers" was just too good for "We So Corny".
Congratulations to "Tea Baggers" on the league title!
"Cornhole Sanders" is our Wednesday cornhole champion after a tight championship match. It was a thrilling game with the teams going toss for toss at the end, but "Cornhole Sanders" was able to outlast their opponent.
We had quite the surprise early in the playoffs, with "Shut your Cornhole" getting knocked out in the first round by "Sunk Tossed". "D bagz" would care of business aftertward, defeating the #5 seeded hopeful in a convincing 3-0 sweep. Meanwhile, "Shuck it" went to 5 games in their first round, but were eventually trounced 3-0 by the Colonel himself.
In the championship game it came down to the top two teams from the regular season in an evenly matched contest. Cornhole sanders and dbagz are very evenly matched. Much to the delight of the small crowd on hand to watch the playoffs the game went a full 5 games, before "Cornhole Sanders" came out on top. Congratulations to them on the championship!
The "Kernel Krew" is our Thursday Cornhole champion after crushing the competition in last night's playoffs. As the #2 team from the regular season our champs received a first round bye. In round 2 they would make quick work of "Hardcore Corn" in a 3-0 win. In the championship "Kernel Krew" would defeat #5 "Cornholio" after they took down the top team this season, "Unicorns", in a surprising 3-1 win.
The "Kernel Krew" got off a great start this season, winning their first two games and setting the tone early. In fact they wouldn't lose until week 6, a loss which came at the hands of their eventual championship opponent "Cornholio". However, "Kernel Krew" would avenge the early season loss with that championship win.
In all "Kernel Krew" finishes with an 8-1-1 record, and most importantly as league champion. They also finshed with a +21 point differential, tops in the league. Congratulations to them on a fantastic season, and we wish them luck as they defend their title this upcoming season!
"Sac to the future" is our Friday Cornhole champion for the second straight season!
After a strong regular season placed them as the #2 seed for the playoffs, "Sac to the future" won a hard-fought first round match-up. The 3-2 win over #3 "Fun Bags" was definitely huge for our eventual champs, especially after losing to them earlier in the season. In fact, it was their only loss all season, and I'm sure it felt great to avenge the loss!
In the other half of the bracket there was a bit of an upset, as the top team "Unprotected Sacks" was taken down 3-2 by "Boozeholes". It was definitely a surprising upset, considering "Boozeholes" only managed to go 4-4 through the regular season.
In the championship game "Sac to the future" came ready to play, taking down their opponent in a convincing 3-1 win. With the win they finish the season with an 8-1-1 record, also topping the league with a +19 point differential.
Congratulations on a fantastic season!
After losing to Coed Team "Beer-Shan-igans" in both regular season matches. 2nd seed "Maized & Confused" put their game face on to win all their games and sail to the Champions spot. After their game they challenged Competitive league champs to a friendly, and plan to move to competitive bracket for summer. This was the first time ASL offered a "just for fun" league to help players learn the game and/or play for fun. This division will continue to grow. 1st place winner receives 1/2 off registration for summer league and ASL jerseys.

New team this season, "Hmm Another Use For Corn" came in to playoffs as the 3rd seat to glide through playoffs to the finals against 1st seed "Hole Shot". In a back and forth battle 21-13, 15-21, and 21-14 the first coed team to win an ASL Cornhole Championship in 3 seasons. Summer Season is shaping up to be the biggest yet, and new Champs "Hmm Another Use for Corn" are looking forward to it.
1st Place receives free registration for summer league, ASL jerseys and Glassware from Savannah River Brewing. 2nd place receives half off summer league registration.
"The A-Team" is our Tuesday Cornhole champion for the second straight season, capping off their perfect season with a 3-0 sweep of "The Great Cornholios" in the final.
The win means "The A-Team" finished their season at 10-0. In all our champs finished with a +33 point differential, showcasing their dominance this season.
Heading into the league "The A-Team" was the favorite to win the title and they didn't disappoint. In total they lost just 1 game all season. And no, that's not a typo. They only dropped 1 game, and that was in a 3-1 victory over "We So Corny"! In the rest of their 9 matches, which includes the playoffs, "The A-Team" shut out their opponents. They just couldn't be stopped.
Congratulations to "The A-Team" on their perfect season and we wish them a great summer!
"D-Bagz" is our Wednesday Cornhole champion for the second straight season, mowing through the playoff bracket without much pause. After a first round bye they took down #4 "Shuck It" in a 3-0 sweep to make the finals.
On the other side of things we had a minor upset, with "Shut Your Cornhole" falling to "Cornhole Sanders", setting up a thrilling league finale.
However, just as they did all season "D-Bagz" made quick work of their championship opponent. "Cornhole Sanders" managed to pick up one win, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome the now back-to-back champion.
Dominant as always, "D-Bagz" finishes with an astronomical +31 point differential, 8 more than their championship opponent who finished second in that department. They also managed to sweep their opponent 7 times this season en route to their 9-0-1 record. Congratulations to "D-Bagz" once again for their dominant performance!
"Ties R Us" is the top Thursday cornhole team this season, making their way through a tough playoff bracket as the #2 team. They were at the top of their game all season, and when push came to toss in the playoffs they were able to win it all!
As a top two team from the regular season "Ties R Us" enjoyed a first round bye in the playoffs. In their half of the bracket "The Kernel Krew", who was right behind our champs in the regular season, won their first game, setting up a 2 versus 3 matchup. In that game "Ties R Us" stayed strong and mustered a 3-1 win to advance to the league final.
In the other half of the bracket #5 "The Cornstruction Company" pulled off back to back upsets, picking up their first win over "Lords of Bagtown". They followed that up by toppling title favorite "BAGBROS" in a nail-biting 3-2 semi-final matchup. With the two upsets under their belt "The Cornstruction Company" was hungry for a third.
Unfortunately for them "Ties R Us" was unstoppable in the championship! A quick 3-0 sweep of the underdog hopefull was stymied by our champs and their consistency that they had displayed all season. Their league-leading +19 point differential was plenty of proof in that.
Congratulations to "Ties R Us" on the incredible season!
"Team B" is our Tuesday Cornhole champion, finishing with an undefeated 10-0 record, sweeping the league with relative ease. That includes back to back 3-1 wins in the playoffs, first over "Pub Scouts", followed by the championship win over "The Great Cornholios".
All season our champions were dominant. In fact, they were so dominant they only lost 8 games all season, with two of those (understandably) coming in the playoffs! They'd also finish with a +24 point differential, double that of any other team in the league. For reference, their championship opponent "The Great Cornholios" finished with a +10. There was just no stopping them this season.
Congratulations to "Team B" on an incredible season and we wish them luck in defending their title next season!
"D-Bagz" is back on top as our Wednesday night Cornhole winner, sealing the deal with a nerve-wracking 3-2 win in the final. It was a rough start to the championship game for "D-Bagz" too, losing the first 2 games before clawing their way back into it with a win in the 3rd game.
That win was followed up by a incredible four-bagger by Evan to close out game 4 and forcing a fifth and final match. In that fifth game "D-Bagz" had all of the momentum, finishing off "Shuck It" swiftly on their way to another championship.
All season "D-Bagz" was hungry to get back to the top of the league, and it showed. Through the regular season they finished with an undefeated 7-0-1 record, good for second. From there it was business as usual, winning their first two playoff games with ease before their fantastic championship game comeback.
Congratulations to "D-Bagz" on another well deserved title. We wish them the best of luck again next season!
"I'll put a bag in that!" is our latest Thursday Cornhole champion, continuing their championship ways after taking a season off in the Fall. They finished the season with an unbeaten 8-0-2 record, picking up the #1 seed for the playoffs and one of two first round byes in the process.
Much like their run through the regular season "I'll put a bag in that!" made it look easy in the playoffs. They capped off their title with back to back 3-0 sweeps in the playoffs, first against "Slide Right In" followed by their championship match up versus "Did you see that corn, 2 bags, 1 hole?". Lost in the shuffle was #2 "Unicorns" who lost out in their 2nd round match-up in a 5-game thriller. Had they made it to the championship game they could have had a chance to win considering they came to a 2-2 draw against our champions in the first week of the season, but we'll never know.
Congrats once again to "I'll put a bag in that!" on their league title, placing themselves back atop the food chain as the team to beat on Thursday nights. They'll be looking to stay there once again this season, and we wish them the best in their title defense!
"Unprotected sacks" has successfully defended their title, claiming back to back championships thanks to their stellar tossing skills. As the reigning champ they were the team to beat this season, going so far as to secure a #1 seed for the playoffs and a first round bye.
In the playoffs "Unprotected sacks" cruised past their first opponent 3-1, and into the championship game they went. They would once again face off against "Sac to the Future" in a rematch of last season's title bout. And, similar to last season, "Unprotected sacks" would take the victory, this time to the tune of a 3-1 win.
All season our champs knew they were the best, and once again they were happy to prove it. While this season's 8-1-1 doesn't match their 9-0-1 record from last season, that's still an incredible combined record of 17 wins, one loss, and two ties in back to back seasons. Congratulations to "Unprotected sacs" on the continued success!
The "Amaizing Gentlemen" are our Monday Cornhole champions, sweeping "Corn Thugz-N-Harmony" 3-0 in the playoff finale.
That came after both teams swept their first round opponents with ease, each game acting as a mere warm-up for the final duel. As the top two teams all season, it made sense for them to meet for the league championship, though some may see the blowout as an anticlimactic end to the season. For "Amaizing Gentlemen", it was the opposite.
All season our champs couldn't be stopped, going 5-1-2 in during the regular season. Their lone loss was a tough 3-1 beating at the hands of "Corn Thugz-N-Harmony", but in the end the "Amaizing Gentlemen" got the last laugh with the win last night. Couple that with their +18 point differential on the season, and it was a fantastic season for our new champs. Congrats!
