"DAMM" is our league champion, defeating "CornHub" in a thrilling 3-1 championship game win on Wednesday night.
The top two seeds duked it out, with "DAMM" eventually coming out on top. The two faced off in the first game of the season, ending in an ainticlimactic 2-2 draw. But that set the stage for what was a pretty good championship game.
But to get there "DAMM" had to power through a tough "Glory Holes" squad that pushed them to the brink, in a match that went a full 5 games. It was a rematch of last season's semi-finals, which saw these same "Glory Holes" pick up the upset. This time our champs prevailed, exorcising their playoff demons by winning 3-2 and securing their spot in the championship game.
Meanwhile "CornHub" was fresh off a 3-1 win over a #6 "Bad bag boys" squad that had pulled off a first round upset. Unfortunately for them, one was all they could muster.
Overall "DAMM" topped the league with an 8-1-1 record along with a +21 point differential. They were simply the best, and it's no wonder they won this season's championship. Congratulations to them on an incredible season!
"Somewhat Subpar" is our Tuesday cornhole champion once again, defeating "We So Corny" on a 3-0 sweep. With the win, "Somewhat Subpar" picks up their second championship in as many seasons.
Despite the win it wasn't an easy road for our defending champs. In fact, the road started off pretty bumpy. After winning their first game of the season "Somewhat Subpar" lost their next 3 games, falling to 1-3 and far out of the playoffs. But instead of getting down they rallied back, winning four straight 4-0 games to close out the season at 5-3. That was enough to get them the 4th and final playoff seed. I guess it was lucky number 4 for them!
In the playoffs our champs took it to another gear, taking down last season's champion and previously undefeated "Gone Fishin" by the score of 3-1.
In the finals Somewhat Supbar" met with #2 "We So Corny", another one of our veteran squads who is always in the hunt come playoff time. Unfortunately for them they ran into a buzzsaw and got trounced in a quick 3-0 loss to our champs.
Congratulations to "Somewhat Subpar" on the championship! They may have had a rough start, but a late-season push and incredible playoff run vaulted them to another league title!
The "Unprotected Sacks" are our Friday cornhole champions once again, cruising to a to a 3-1 win over the #2 seed "Cornholio". Prior to the win "Unprotected Sacks" made quick work of #4 "Team A" while "Cornholio" defeated a quality "Wrong hole" squad 3-1.
Another season, another championship for our perennial contenders, though this season featured some tougher competition than in season's past. With it came 3 ties in the first 4 games of the season for "Unprotected Sacks", good for a starting record of 1-0-3. While still a decent start to the season for most, for our champs it was more akin to a stumble out of the gates.
But, as expected, they kicked it to another level. In doing so they won 6 straight games to end the season, finishing with a 7-0-3 record and a league leading +23 point differential. That includes back to back wins in the playoffs.
Congratulations to the "Unprotected Sacks" on another fantastic season!
The "cornBawls" are our Thursday cornhole champions, defeating "Pound Town" 3 games to 1 in last night's league final. Prior to that it was an identical 3-1 win over "Hole Lotta Drinkin" to make it to the final.
Overall our champs finish with an impressive 7-1-2 record thanks to their championship win. They would also finish with a +16 point differential, tops in the league.
It was a strong season throughout for the "cornBawls". They got started off with a 3-1 win over "Pound Town" before picking up back to back ties to "Corn Again" and the "Awesome Cornhole Club", both of which are no slouch. After that the "cornBawls" really kicked it into gear with 4 straight wins, three of with were 4-0 sweeps. A lone 3-1 loss to "Pound Town" in their final league game was all that kept them from an undefeated season.
Still, they got the last laugh by defeating "Pound Town" in the championship.
Congratulations to "cornBawls" on the incredible season and the much deserved championship!
The "Glory Holes" are our Wednesday Cornhole champions, defeating "CornHub" by the score of 3-1 in a thrilling championship match. Heading into it "CornHub" was billed as the favorite given the #2 seed from the regular season. But "Glory Holes" ran hot all night and in the end took down not just the #2 "CornHub", but the top ranked "TBD" as well!
They say it's not how you start the season, it's how you finish it, and nowhere is that the case more than with our champs. They stumbled out of the blocks, losing their first 2 games of the season and then tying the "Children of the Corn" 2-2. Right away they were behind the 8-ball with with just 2 losses and a tie.
However, "Glory Holes" picked it up from there and went on to win five straight games to close out the regular season. In that streak they swept their opponent four times as well!
No team was hotter heading into the playoffs and right away the "Glory Holes" got down to business. They took care of "Toss Up" 3-1 before tossing aside a 7-1 "TBD" squad with another 3-1 win. Then they capped it off with their 3-1 win over "CornHub" to take the title.
Overall "Glory Holes" finishes with a strong 8-2-1 record and tying for 2nd with a +18 point differential.
Congratulations to the "Glory Holes" on their incredible performance this season!
"Gone Fishin" is our Tuesday cornhole champion, defeating "Game of Throws" in a 3-0 sweep. The game was expected to be much closer, especially after both teams picked up 3-1 semifinals wins, but "Gone Fishin" had other ideas.
Overall "Gone Fishin" closed out the season with an unbeaten 7-0-3 record, but it wasn't quite as easy a path as it seemed. In fact, they opened the season with back to back ties against "Pub Scouts" and the aforementioned "Game of Throws". While only 1 of those teams actually made the playoffs, the other was in the hunt all season and just on the fringe
After the mediocre start our champs kicked it into gear, ending the season on a 5-0-1 run. That included three separate 4-0 sweeps. Thanks to that impressive run "Gone Fishin" ended with a +19 point differential, topping their championship game opponent " Game of Throws" by a full 8 points in that category.
All in all it was an excellent season for our champions, fighting through the tough teams and taking care of the wins when they should. In the playoffs they took it to another level, giving up just 1 point in their two playoff games. Congratulations on the dominant performance last night!
"Unprotected Sacks" has done it again, taking the Friday night cornhole championship in a runaway victory. In their minds the win was never in doubt, but their 3-0 win over "Plan B" proved it just as well.
Throughout the season our champs were unstoppable, finishing the season with an unbeaten 9-0 record. While their opponents were busy fighting it out for second, they kept racking up the W's. The most impressive part of their season was the fact that the "Unprotected Sacks" lost just 3 games all season en route to a +23 point differential. That blew everyone else in the league out of the water.
But, most importantly, the win marks the third straight championship for "Unprotected Sacks". They have never been more dominant, and it definitely shows.
Congratulations to the "Unprotected Sacks" on another dominant season! How long can they continue the run?
"Somewhat Subpar" is our Thursday Cornhole champion, defeating last season's champ "Uncle Joe With Benefits" in a clean 3-0 sweep. The win follows a 3-0 semifinals win over "Corn Again", capping a perfect 10-0 season for our newest champion!
To say "Somewhat Supbar" was dominant would be an understatement. Not only did they go 10-0, but they would sweep 7 of those 10 opponents. They only lost 3 games all season, still winning each of those matches 3-1. That's truly mind-boggling.
Due to their impressive play "Somewhat Subpar" closed with a +32 point differential, topping their championship game opponent and 2nd place finisher in that category by more than triple. Aside from our top two teams, everyone else finished in the negatives.
Congratulations to "Somewhat Subpar" on what was truly a season for ages! Extra points for their awesome champs photo as well!
"Unprotected Sacks" is our latest Friday Cornhole champion, taking down the "Friendly Mercenaries" in a 3-0 sweep. The win caps their second straight league title, and to date probably their most dominant.
Throughout the season nobody could touch our champs, unprotected or not. Even their 9-0 record doesn't do justice to just how dominant they were.
How dominant were they? Only once all season did they even drop a game! That means the won 4-0 in their other eight games! And that lone game they dropped was to their championship game opponent the "Friendly Mercenaries".
That all added up to a +33 point differential, which topped 2nd place by a mere 30 points. To put it simply, nobody else stood a chance this season. And while it was nice that the "Friendly Mercenaries" made it to the championship game, there was no way they'd take down this team of hardened veterans in a high-pressure championship situation.
Congratulations to "Unprotected Sacks" on taking another Friday night title!
"CornHub" is our Wednesday cornhole champion, defeating the "B.E.M.bo's" in a straight sweep! It was a stunning victory over the #1 ranked team over the regular season.
Through the course of the season both the "B.E.M.bo's" and "CornHub" were in a tier above the rest. Both squads expected to make the league championship, doing so with easy 3-0 wins in the semi-finals matchups.
The two squads faced off just once in the regular season, with the match ending in a 2-2- tie. Just as we though, both teams were equally matched.
But in the championship "CornHub" took it to another level. Not only did out champs play out of their minds, they swept the "B.E.M.bo's" straight out of the playoffs in into next season.
Overall "CornHub" finishes the season without a loss, ending with an impressive 7-0-3 record. They also end with a +18 point differential, second only their main rival this season.
Congratulations to "CornHub" on the incredible win, capping off an incredible season!
Tuesday cornhole’s playoffs featured four very familiar teams. Fan favorites Pub Scouts matched up against the number one seeded We so Corny and defending champion Gone Fishin’ met the perennial powerhouse Game of Throws.
Fans will remember the matchup between Game of Throws and Gone Fishin as one of last season’s best playoff series. Game of Throws barely lost that series after building a commanding 2-0 lead. The achingly-close loss immortalized in the ESPN 30-for-30 documentary, Cornhole in my Heart: The Game of Throws Collapse. Could Game of Throws shake off the memory of their collapse?
Steve of Game of Throws clearly believed they could. Determined to rid himself of the ghosts of last season, he started the first game on fire. After several cornholes and a few unlucky breaks for Gone FIshin’s Ryan, Game of Throws prevailed, 21-9.The party didn’t last long for Game of Throws, as Jaime and James of Gone Fishin imposed their will in game 2, beating Throw’s stalwarts Patrick and Justin by a score of 21 to 9.
Game three began with excellent coaching by Steve, ensuring his teammate Pat knew what throws to launch and where. Steve and Jamie would trade blows in an exchange that should inspire a 30-for-30 sequel. With Game up 19-13, Ryan would step up big and hit 2 cornholes to bring the match to within 3. He would then shock the cornhole world with an improbable 3 cornhole round to win 21-19 and take a 2-1 series lead.
It’s clear that cornhole excellence is a family affair for James and Jamie. The father-son duo looked unbeatable in the fourth game where they locked up the series, 3-1.
(Editorial note: Justin’s right-handed hook throw is a thing of beauty.)
It’s no secret there’s no love lost between Pub Scouts and We So Corny whenever they face off. These teams have been fixtures on the Sacramento cornhole scene for years, rivals since the days the game was played in back alleys and smoke-filled dens of iniquity. Pub Scouts and We So Corny are truly throwback cornhole teams, vestiges of the sport’s lawless past and they met again for a classic first-round series.
To start each game was tight but Pub Scouts prevailed after falling into a 2-0 hole. The Pub Scouts ended their series on a 3-0 roll that left spectators in shock. They’d beaten the regular season champs, could they do the same to the defending champions in the finals?
The Finals
Ryan of Gone Fishin’ appeared to be on a mission to start the finals. He opened up the match with two crafty hole blocking shots and brought his team to 4-0 lead. Ryan would continue his hot start against Mike of Pub Scouts, scoring 3, 2, and 2 in his next rounds. Gone Fishin’ continued to build their lead behind board accuracy on the way to a 22-6 win in the opening game.
Kiel, ever a creature his street-cornhole past, began the smack talk early in game 2. His constant haranguing of Gone Fishin’s Ryan would make most men quake. Ryan, however, proved unflappable and let his game do the talking. Beating the Scouts easily 21-14.
Game 3 was a game of inches. Slow, excruciating and 1 point at a time. Kiel of the Pub Scouts willed his team to an 18-17 lead with an amazing push shot for a cornhole. Nate extended the leas to 20-17 and Kiel sealed the deal after ill-advised cornhole by Gone Fishin’ lost the game 21-20. Pub Scout’s joy did not last long, however, as Ryan and James of Gone Fishin’ dominated game 4 en-route to a 21-5 win.
Congratulations to Gone Fishin’ on their Tuesday cornhole championship.
What better tribute to America is there than cornhole, our true national pastime? Just as July 4th provided us all an opportunity to reflect on America's past glories and imagine its future triumphs, so too did July 5th bring to mind Sacramento cornhole's past legends while giving a glimpse of its future stars.
The boards of Friday cornhole have seen some of the greatest players to ever pick up a bag. Names like Steph, Joe, Vaidy, Ed and Katie "The Commish" are still whispered in hushed reverence here.
There are new names on the lips of fans now as well. The league has up-and-coming stars looking to achieve the eternal glory of a cornhole championship and a fifty dollar gift card. Will these fireworks fizzle out in the rarefied air of cornhole's playoff firmament or will they, in the eternal words of America's greatest patriot, Katy Perry, go "boom boom boom even brighter than the moon moon moon"?
The first round of Friday night's playoff pitted rookie sensation Johnny of the Third Hole against the eight-time champions of Unprotected Sacks and the perennial contenders of Wronghole against Hold my Beer.
Johnny had history on his mind when he stepped up to the boards on Friday. Only two players have won the championship with no teammates and he would face one of them in Jon Gaskell for the first round.
It's been years since Brent and Josh decided "if you can beat em, join em" and teamed up with Gaskell and Chris "Billy the Kid". This unholy alliance has netted its members numerous championships but can it survive a third straight season of playoff futility?
The games began with Johnny Ruiz just not showing up entirely. A bit anti-climactic but ok....3 to 0.
It's no secret that the other two playoff contenders, Hold My Beer and Wronghole, are fan favorites. Sales of "Arsenoff" and "Tan" jerseys have surged. Kids in playgrounds across the country are mimicking Luke's signature throwing style. Ukrainian viewing parties for Leah "The Intimidator" have proven cornhole's growing international appeal. It's a shame that only one of these teams would make the finals but their first round battle was a pleasure to watch.
The first game of this series came down to defense. Luke and Christine crowded the hole and didn't allow Sean or Sarah of Hold My Beer any room. Wronghole would take the lead 1-0. In game 2 Kevin would catch fire, hitting cornhole after cornhole to run away with the game 21-10. Game 3 would go just like game 2 and Wronghole would run away with it, winning the series 3-0.
The finals were set as Unprotected Sacks would square off against Wronghole, who were participating their first finals.
Game 1 featured established veterans Jon and Josh against Kevin and Luke.
The game would prove challenging for Unprotected Sacks, who didn't anticipate Luke's stellar play. Unprotected Sacks would gather themselves, however and win the game 21-11.
Game 2 would bring Luke of Wronghole some vengeance as he and Christine outlasted Jon and Billy the Kid, 23 to 20.
The unexpected tie threw Unprotected Sacks, already in tenuous detente, into chaos. Insults and recriminations were volleyed, things were said that couldn't be unsaid. Was this the end of the Unprotected Sacks dynasty?
Jon and Chris would ride the bench for game 3, leaving Josh and Brent to take on Christine and Kevin. Wronghole would employ a new strategy to exacerbate the tensions apparent in Unprotected Sacks.
Josh caught fire with an onslaught of cornholes after three insult and Unprotected Sacks would win the game 21-6 and take the series lead, 2 to 1.
Jon understood that Josh and Brent were ready for their time in the sun and played Josh's hot hand in game 4. His instincts would prove correct. Josh would repeat his previous performance and win the game, 21-6.
Although it pains Jon to admit it, Josh proved himself a cornhole MVP in these playoffs.
Congratulations to Unprotected Sacks on another cornhole championship, don't let it get to Josh's head.
In a 3 game back and forth match Hole E Bagmeisters beat Bags and Beards to win the Spring 2019 ASL Cornhole Championship at 2nd City Distillery (8th Ave). It was a good time on the side patio by the natural gazebo. Even defeated teams stayed to play some more and watch the championship.

The "Glory Holes" are our Wednesday Cornhole champions, taking down their first round opponent in a sweep before defeating biggest rival of the season "CornHub" by the score of 3-1. It was a great ending to the season, especially after the two juggernauts had gone 1-1 against each other during the regular season. This time, when it mattered most, the "Glory Holes" were victorious.
Overall it was a dominant season from the champs, finishing with a 9-1 record that topped the league by a decent margin. Aside from their lone loss to "CornHub" in the very first game of the season, the "Glory Holes" were perfect. That includes a 9-game winning streak through the end of the playoffs, three of which were sweeps.
Only "CornHub" came close to them, finishing with a 7-2-1 record. Our champs also finished with a +21 point differential, beating their rivals in that category by 8 points.
Congratulations to "Glory Holes" on their nearly perfect season!
In an exceptionally competitive league known for its parity, any team that makes it to Tuesday cornhole's final four has a shot at the title. When teams like Game of Throws, Gone Fishin', The Great Cornholios and three-time champion We So Corny step up to the boards, you can expect great play. Tuesday's playoffs were no exception.
For Me So Corny a fourth championship and a shot at redemption were both on the line. For Game of Throws, a hope that their season would end better than their namesake's did. For The Great Cornholios, a championship would finally ensure them a place among Sacramento's cornhole elite. For Gone Fishin', who came out of nowhere to dominate the league, the expectations of a brilliant regular season weighed heavy on their playoff run.
The first round featured fourth-seeded Game of Throws against the number one seed, Gone Fishin'. After a couple of wins and blowouts for each team, It would be James and Ryan of Gone Fishin' versus Pat and Steve of Game of Throw's in the final game of the series. As their shirts say, Game of Throws "drink and they throw things", quite well, as it turns out. Game of Throws built an early lead in the sudden death game 5. They crowded the hole and pressured James and Ryan to make big shots. Unfortunately for them, James and Ryan were more than ready to make those shots. The rookie sensations rose to the challenge, clinching the match, the series and a finals berth.
In the other first round matchup, The Great Cornholios took on We So Corny. Could the boys from We So Corny return to their former glory? Would The Great Cornholios, who consider themselves a team of destiny, win their first title?
It all began with a barrage of cornholes from The Great Cornholios who easily won their first game, 21-10. In the second game, We So Corny appeared to be back in championship form and jumped out to an early 16-8 lead. That is until Matt of the Cornholios sunk four holes in a row to steal a win. We So Corny never seemed to recover from the shock of their game 2 collapse as the third-seeded Cornholios would easily win their third game and sweep the series. Many were stunned by the early exit of Sacramento cornhole's powerhouse team.
The air was thick with anticipation as Gone Fishin', fresh off a marathon 5-game series, and the red hot Cornholios squared off in the finals. Would the Cornholios continue their hot streak? Would Gone Fishin' show signs of wear and tear after a physically and emotionally draining first round?
In the first game it was clear that the Cornholios had not cooled down. Between Casey's pinpoint accuracy and Sean's crafty spin shot game, the Cornholios could not be stopped on their way to a 21-2 blowout.
Game 2 would begin as game 1 had ended, with the Cornholio's sinking effortless cornholes. It appeared it was time for Gone Fishin' to cut bait. That is, until James and Ryan caught fire. After some impressive defensive throws and some tough angle cornholes, Gone Fishin' had tossed their way back into the game and won 21-15.
Gone Fishin's James seemed to have an answer for every block the Cornholios threw at him. Sinking shots from left, right and over the top of the hole. Gone Fishin' would win game 3 comfortably by a score of 24-11.
Game 4 would feature Matt and Casey against Ryan and James. Despite Gone Fishin's impressive start, going up 10-3 early, birthday boy Casey would tighten the score with a six point flurry of his own. After 3 impressive cornholes, however it was Gone Fishin' who reeled in a 21-10 victory.
For Gone Fishin', this championship isn't the one that got away.
Congratulations to Gone Fishin' on their Tuesday night Xoso cornhole championship!
"Down to Shuck" has won their second straight title, defeating the favored "Unprotected Sacks" by the score of 3-1 in the final. The two also faced one another last season in the final, so no doubt the second straight championship game loss has to sting for "Unprotected Sacks".
After last season's championship our champions knew the road back wasn't going to be easy. Unlike last season's nearly flawless 8-1-1 record, "Down to Shuck" had some ups and down. Consistency was tough to come by, and at one point they lost three games in a row near the end of the season. However, they managed to get their way into the playoffs as the #3 team anyway.
From that point on their playoff experience took hold, and just like that "Down to Shuck" flipped the switch. In their first round match-up they easily took down "Sofa King Awesome" with a 3-0 sweep, punching their ticket to the big dance for the second time in as many seasons.
Riding high from their semi-finals win our champs stayed locked in, defeating "Unprotected Sacks" by the score of 3-1. It was a great final to be sure, but "Down to Shuck" just over matched their opponent throughout the game.
Congratulations to "Down to Shuck" on the great season. While the may have had some ups and downs, they still took the ultimate prize for the second season in a row. Well done!
"Maized and Confused" is our latest Thursday Cornhole champion! They were pushed to the brink in the championship, defeating "Bangerz" 3-2 in quite the nail-biter!
Overall our champs finish with a respectable 7-2-1 record, topping the league. They also finish with a +13 point differential, good for second just behind their championship game opponent "Bangerz".
In fact the two teams developed a bit of a rivalry as the season wore on. In their first matchup of the season "Bangerz" defeated "Maized and Confused" with ease, leaving our eventual champs a bit dazed.
The next time the two would meet was later on in the season, and this time it ended in a 2-2 tie. They say a tie is like kissing your sister, but for "Maized and Confused" it was a moral victory.
There are no moral victories in the playoffs though, only winners and losers. In the end our champs would be the ultimate victors, defeating their main rival by the final score of 3-2 in an incredible game. Not only was it a great season for "Maized and Confused", it was a great display of team growth through the season. They could have easily laid down when faced with a tough opponent, but instead they rose to the occasion.
Congratulations to "Maized and Confused" on the 'a-maizing' season!
"Chalupa Batman" is our league champion, taking down "M2K3" for the 2nd straight season in the league title.
It was another strong season for our champs, going a perfect 9-0 en route to their second league title in as many seasons. They capped off the season with a solid 3-1 championship win.
For the most part out champs ran through the competition with ease, taking down opponents regularly by the score of 4-0. Over the course of the season they would only lose 3 total games, each coming in 3-1 wins. Other than that they were perfect though.
Their dominance can be shown in their in their point differential as well, notching a +30. For reference, second place ended with a +8.
Congratulations to "Chalupa Batman" on another incredible season!
"CornHub" is our latest Wednesday night champion! With last night's 3-0 sweep, they finish the season with a perfect 10-0 record. Our champions also finish with an incredible +35 point differential. For comparison, both 2nd and 3rd place finished with a +6 and +5 in those categories, respectively.
Our champs couldn't be stopped all season. In fact, they hardly even lost a game. In total "CornHub" swept the competition eight times through the season. Only twice, against both "Corn in the USA" and "The Cornoners", did they give up points. And even in those games it was still a 3-1 win for our champs.
A huge congratulations to "CornHub" on the utterly dominant season. I don't think we've ever seen a cornhole team be this dominant in a single season. It was absolutely incredible. No doubt they'll be the favorites to win it all again next season!
"Cornhole Sanders" is our latest Tuesday night champion, taking down the "Pub Scouts" in a 3-1 win. The win caps an unbeaten 9-0-1 record, but that was in jeopardy in their first round playoff matchup. Pushed to the brink and down 2-0 to "We So Corny", they fought back to win the game and earn their spot in the championship.
In that championship game. still riding high from their exciting win, "Cornhole Sanders" finished off the "Pub Scouts" in 4 games by the score of 3-1. As the #3 seed the "Pub Scouts" were fresh off an upset victory after taking down "Game of Throws" in a thrilling 3-2 win.
All season "Cornhole Sanders" was the team to beat and they proved it right out of the gates. They started off the season red hot by winning their first three games before drawing "Game of Throws" in game 4. They'd get right back on track though, starting with a 4-0 sweep of "Pub Scouts". From then on, it was nothing but wins.
Overall "Cornhole Sanders" finishes with a +29 point differential, showing why they were the best team in the league by more than doubling anyone else in the league. Congratulations on the win!
"Chalupa Batman" has won our inaugural season of Wednesday night cornhole in Reno! They closed out the season with a strong 3-1 title win, ending their season on the highest of notes. The win also secured a perfect 9-0 record, which doesn't happen very often!
Dominance was the theme this season for our champs. Of their 9 wins this season, six were 4-0 sweeps. One of those was even over "M2K3", the team they defeated in the championship game. Even in the rest of their games, they pulled off wins with ease.
Also, in total they finished with a +30 point differential, more than triple the team in 2nd place.
Congratulations to "Chalupa Batman" for the incredibly dominant season. We look forward to seeing if they can make it two in a row next season!
"CornHub" is our Friday night champion, defeating "Unprotected Sacs" in a 3-2 win that went down to the wire! While both were expected to make the final, it wasn't an easy route to get there.
"CornHub" was a top team all season, losing just once to "Unprotected Sacs" midway through the season. Despite the loss it was a good measuring stick for them. Towards the end of the season they got hot, picking up back to back 4-0 sweeps just in time for the playoffs.
In the first round our champs took down #3 "Hole Enchilada" while "Unprotected Sacs" took care of business and defeated #4 "Make up Sacks" by the same score.
Despite the stakes the game was friendly, all while still remaining competitive. Both teams played well, but in the end it was "CornHub" who would come out on top.
Congratulations to "CornHub" on finally getting over the hump and taking the league title! Shout out to Eddie for his generosity on Friday night as well!
"3 Bangers" is our Thursday Cornhole champion, finishing with an unbeaten record. In the league title the took down the top team "Maized and Confused" by the score of 3-1.
It was an incredible season for the "3 Bangers", who were consistently good. Their 5 wins in the regular season were good enough to get them the #2 seed, just behind "Maized and Confused". The two had played to a tie last earlier in the season, so when they met for the championship it was bound to be a good one. Their other two ties were against "Awesome Cornhole Club", the team they beat in the first round of the playoffs in a convincing 3-0 effort.
Overall our champs finish with a league high +19 point differential, topping "Maized and Confused" by three points. They also close out the season with a 7-0-3 record, keeping that 0 in the loss column all season.
Congratulations to "3 Bangers" on the incredible season! We look forward to their title defense!
The "Burning Barrel Boys" are our latest Wednesday Cornhole champions! It was an intense match, with our champs pulling through in the clutch in the 5th and final game.
It was championship or bust for the "burning Barrel Boys"
"We So Corny" is now a three-time champion after taking down "Game of Throws" in the Winter '19 cornhole final. When asked about how they got ready for last night's games, our champs mentioned quitting carbs for the week. Despite them getting a bit cranky, it sure paid off!
In all "We So Corny" finishes with an unbeaten 8-0-2 record along with a whopping +25 point differential. That number dwarfs the +8 posted by "Game of Throws", who finished second in that category.
Through the season our champs remained at the top of their game. They were near perfect, but "The Great Cornholios" and "Stay Dangerous" put up quite a fight with both games ending in 2-2 ties. Aside from those slight stumbles though, "We So Corny" couldn't be stopped.
Finally, "We So Corny" wanted to acknowledge their wives and children for their continued support, braving the cold weather to cheer them on at last night's champion! Congratulations on the win!
"Maized and Confused" is our latest Thursday night cornhole champion! Even as the #1 team through the season they had to fight through a tough playoff bracket to win it all.
As the regular season's top team, "Maized and Confused" earned a first round bye while a few other teams were busy knocking each other out of the playoffs.
After the bye, they faced "Kernel Knowledge", fresh off their win over the "Awesome Cornhole Club".
