Only three days after Rain Bowl, in which many members of Cuddle Closet made it all the way to the championship, they found themselves in exactly the same position. One game away from being crowned champions, they were not going to let it slip through the crack this time!
Cuddle Closet took on Egg Salad Sandwiches in an epic shoot out that went down to the very last second. In a game that saw very few stops both teams relied on their explosive offense. Both quarterbacks easily threw for more than 500 yards, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but probably not.
Egg Salad Sandwiches mounted a final offensive drive that saw a 4th down conversion of 20 yards, a touchdown with 18 seconds left, and a 2 point conversion that gave them a 1 point lead. All that though proved not enough against Cuddle Closet.
After losing in the Rain Bowl championship by a mere 2 points, they were not going to be denied this victory.
There were 4 seconds left when Dante called hike and threw a 25 yard strike to the endzone. The ball was knocked around by multiple players until it finally came to rest on a fallen players leg. Chris F. for Cuddle Closet saved it from rolling to the ground and by doing so won the game for his team!
Congratulations to the entire Cuddle Closet team for pulling out the win and taking home the championship!
Payback was on the minds of the men and women of team Danger Zone as they took the field against Roustabouts for the Midcore championship at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. A heartbreaking 65-64 early regular season loss back in November kept them focused and motivated throughout the playoffs...the brackets had them on a collision course potential rematch in the title game. The offenses for both teams were firing on all cylinders throughout the playoffs, leading to a championship game the fans and media had been hoping for throughout the season.
Both quarterbacks were on point all game long, with Chris of Danger Zone finding Jenna on many crucial plays in the 2nd half. Roustabouts did their best to close the gap towards the end of the game, but some timely defensive stops and a dialed-in offensive juggernaut proved too much in the end, resulting in an impressive 58-44 victory and fitting end to the season for team Danger Zone.
The championship game on Sunday featured two teams ready to raise the Lombardi wristbands after a hard fought regular season. While Snatches & Jerks had a relatively easy time in their semi-final game against newcomers Hot Pocket, Safety Blitzed eked out a grueling 34-28 victory against Swear to drunk I'm not god on the other side of the bracket.
Both teams were methodical in their offensive play calling in the first half, not wanting to reveal too much of their playbook too early in the game. A clean and quick first 20 minutes had Safety Blitzed up 14-6...this game was living up to the hype with both teams confident in their play and chances of winning the title entering the 2nd half.
Quarterback Lynne took the bull by the horns on their first drive, sidearm slingin' her team down the field for an impressive drive and comfortable 21-6 lead. With defensive stopper Bobi absent for the day but still on their mind, the Safety Blitzed defense went into shutdown mode, holding off Snatches & Jerks for the rest of the game and eventual 28-14 victory.
Congrats to Safety Blitzed...a well-deserved championship for a team who knows how to get it done on the turf at Lewis & Clark.
Anytime Patrick and the Face Down crew join a league; opponents shudder. The veteran-laden squad has racked up countless wins and championships on their way to the Underdog Hall of Fame. This season was no different.
Behind the strong arm of quarterback Cody Nelson, Face Down launches an offensive assault every time they step on the field. Blessed with an incredible stable of receivers, the offense seems to never miss a beat. Cold, rain or any kind bad weather can't slow them down.
After another perfect season and another championship, we tip our cap to one of the greatest teams in Underdog history! Congrats to the champions!!
Despite a perfect 6-0 record entering the playoffs, KTOWN was slotted as the second seed as there was one other team with an unblemished record, DeSmet's Disciples. Throughout the playoffs it seemed inevitable, these two powerhouses would have to clash, and they did. In the championship game.
The first half of the title bout was about as close as you could get, with KTOWN clinging to a two-point lead. Down the stretch with the title in their sights is when Blake and his crew pulled away. Connecting on four second-half touchdowns, the offense built a lead that could not be overcome. What a game! What a season!!
Congrats go out to KTOWN for pulling off the dream season. Here's to the champions!!
After a nearly flawless regular season, where they finished 7-0-1, Bedrooms and More were heavy favorites to take down the title, and they did not disappoint.
As the top seed in the playoffs, the squad cruised through the semi-finals. They found themselves in position for redemption as in the championship game they would face off with Melon Farmers, who gave them the only blemish on their record. After a back-and-forth first half, Bedrooms and More took control late as they got their revenge and secured the championship. Congrats to the champions!!
Throughout a rainy and cold regular season, Taco Corp! fought through the elements to earn the top seed in the playoffs. They did not waste their lofty rank either.
Showing their determination to finish what they started, Taco Corp made quick work of their opponents this postseason. Winning both of their playoff games by multiple scores, the squad was able to celebrate a much-deserved title. Congrats to Taco Corp!, Underdog Champions!!
Go Balls Deep had a dominating regular season as they earned the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Despite their lofty seeding, the postseason would be no cake walk.
In the semi-finals, the squad needed a last-second miracle touchdown to advance to the title game. Then in the championship game, they had to fight tooth and nail with Back That Pass Up to pull off the victory.
Congrats to Go Balls Deep for an impressive run this regular and post season!
An undefeated season, coveted championship wristbands, bragging rights for years to come...much was on the line on Sunday for the team in Purple. Standing in their path to Underdog legend status was Cromartie's Kids, a talented veteran team whose team lineage has been brought into question by many who have witnessed them on the field at Lewis & Clark. Two solid teams deserving of a chance to claim the title of the Gentlemens division.
This game with a chess match from the beginning, with both teams knowing each other's tendencies after playing two hard fought games in the regular season. Methodical in their approach knowing points would be at a premium, both teams put together impressive drives in the first half, with a deadlocked 13-13 score at halftime.
SundayFunday's defense took charge midway through the 2nd half, picking off a pass as Cromartie's Kids were attempting to tie the game. A few plays later put SundayFunday up by a couple of scores, putting the game out of reach and leading to an eventual 32-19 championship game victory. Congrats to team SundayFunday for a fantastic ending to a perfect season!
With a near-perfect regular season, Bloodbath entered the playoffs as the top seed. Despite their high ranking, they needed some clutch plays to advance in the postseason and win the title.
In the semifinals against BDA, Bloodbath was down by four with seconds remaining. Needing a miracle, they found one as they scored the biggest TD of their season as time expired.
Feeding off the momentum of their semi-final victory, Bloodbath cruised in the championship game on their way to another Underdog title! Congrats to the champions!!
After finishing the regular season without a loss, the Thick Sticks were the heavy favorites in the playoffs. Their 5-0-1 record was nearly perfect and after cruising through the playoffs, they would get a chance to defeat the team that gave him them their only blemish, Feed the Hawks.
In a hard fought championship game, both Thicks Sticks and Feed the Hawks had a chance to win the title. Trading blows back and forth; the Thick Sticks got in the last shot as they scored the game's winning points with only eight seconds remaining.
Congrats to the champs!
Coming off a big win on Sunday at NeedleBowl GameFace came in to Monday hoping to add another championship to the list. The gameplan coming in to the game was to get everyone involved and that's just what GameFace did. Through the course of the game every player got the chance to play quarterback and run the offense their way. Matt Kruse wanted to make sure the defense got some love as well getting two interceptions and taking one back for a touchdown. It was another great game for GameFace who finished with a perfect record this season.

In one of the more thrilling championship games you will ever see, the TRIBE came back from a 2-score deficit to avenge their only loss of the season over Boolin with my Dawgs. It wasn't always easy, as TRIBE QB More Israel struggled most of the game, but came through when his team needed him the most, throwing for a clutch TD and running for the game winning score with less than 30 seconds on the clock. They needed a stout defensive stand, and came through in the clutch to hold off Boolin. Congrats guys!

Congrats to Gameface, the Needlebowl 2015 Statdog Champs. Captain Bobby really put together a great team that had to topple some perennial giants in order to hoist the championship. It all started with a blowout victory over Statdog newcomers the Dreamkillers, then had to grind out a gritty 26-20 victory over last year's Runner-up, Malicious. They played last year's champs, Team Sweet, to a tough draw, but enough to earn the #1 seed going into Sunday. Their defense kept up the intensity against the Wolf Pack, holding the high-powered offense to one first half score before holding on just enough for a 34-28 victory, leading to a rematch with Malicious. Again the defense led the way, coming through with stop after stop to narrowly win 26-20. Great performances up and down the field, Gameface really earned this championship! Congrats guys!

Heading into the championship game versus No Punt Intended, That's Too Deep was a true Underdog. In the regular season, they face NPI twice and fell to them by double-digits twice. If they were going to flip the script in the title tilt, they would need some special performances.
After falling behind early, That's Too Deep charged ahead behind the arm of Tiffany Lohrke. Whenever called upon, she stepped up and threw darts. Whether for first downs or touchdowns, Tiffany was the offensive weapon her team needed.
While racking up points are nice, but to win a title you need an all-around game, and Josh Ashenbrenner was the leader on defense. Locking down NPI's top offensive weapon, Josh gave his team the edge they needed on defense to get their revenge and take home the championship!
Our hats are off to a great season and a great champion in That's Too Deep!
With a great regular season under their belt, Winslow's Soldiers stepped into the playoffs poised to bring home the title. To do so they would have to fight through three tough and experienced teams.
In the quarterfinals, they narrowly escaped with the win against the highly experienced Puget Sound Moose. But a couple of big defensive stands proved to be the difference. While the semi-finals would be a little easier as they won by multiple scores, the championship game would be their toughest test all season long.
In week one, Winslow's pulled off a narrow victory against The Fear Boners. A rematch for the title was in the makings as the Boners had revenge on their mind. Behind the strong arm of quarterback Jerrod Gonzales, Winslow's would deny vengeance and secure the much-deserved championship win!
Congrats to the Champions, Winslow's Soldiers!
The perfect season. Some say it's superstitious to talk about. Others, such as players of The Red Shirts, laugh at those whispers and fully embrace the italks, which was a huge motivational factor en route to a 9-0 season. After cruising through the regular season (closest game was 11 point victory), they knew they had their hands full heading into the playoffs. After toppling Caught Looking 26-20 in the semifinal, all that stood in their way between a perfect season was the upstart Indy #23. The game was as you dream most championship games- clutch offensive performances, stout defense, it had it all. Ultimately, the QB play of Jonathan P proved the difference, as he darted a fireball to Kim D, scoring the go-ahead TD with 30 seconds left on the clock. Way to go team, congrats on the perfect season!

Malicious and Green, two incredibly veteran teams, facing off yet again in the championship game. You knew there would be offensive fireworks, but you also knew that there would be a lot of mutual respect between the teams, and this game had it all. Malicious got out front early, scoring in their first 4 possessions while coming up with a couple of defensive stands, and that was all they needed. The team really came together on the defensive side, lead by Christine C, who had multiple pass breakups, one of them leading to a pick-6. Malicious overcame their only loss of the season (and the only game in which they failed to score 40 points) and looks primed for another run at the Needlebowl title.

Let's paint the scene- Championship game against a higher seeded team, 20 seconds on the clock, 3rd down and numbers. Defense is playing Prevent, not letting anything behind them. Time is winding down and the QB is scrambling for his life, chucks up a pass that only his receiver can catch, jumping over 2 defenders and running the final 20 yards untouched for the game winning victory. Sounds pretty exciting, huh? Well, that's exactly what happened, leading Not Science Computers to a thrilling 43-39 victory over the Pink Flamingos. They might have finished the season 5-4 (3-0 in the playoffs), but in the end it is all about that championship. Congrats guys!

"Man, that felt good! First time in 5 years!" BIG YAC exclaimed after the game, meaning it had been 5 years since they had won a Men's hardcore championship. This one had to taste sweeter than it already did, seeing as their coed team had suffered a championship loss to Malicious' co-ed team only 2 hours before. This was the game where they fully put it all together, coming up with huge defensive plays and very timely offense, using a ball control style to keep Malicious' high powered offense off the field, and running down the last 3 minutes without giving Reth a chance to comeback. Mark Doyle had an incredible game, catching 2 clutch TD's and intercepting a pass in the endzone in a huge momentum change. Congrats to BIG YAC on the title!

Some say momentum wins playoff games, and that was pretty evident Sunday night, as Why You Always Lying used their momentum from toppling the #1 seed in the semifinal to cruise to a blowout victory in the championship game. Playing as a 5th seed against the #1, they needed every second on the clock as they scored the GW TD with zero time on the clock, and even the hour break in between games couldn't halt their momentum, as they opened the championship game against the Moon Squad (no slouch at all, even coming from a #10 seed) showing no mercy en route to a 40-22 victory. Their offensive style is to go deep and use their speed to their advantage, and that speed was in full display, running deep routes past defenders and coming up with big play after big play. Congrats guys!

The final game of the night at Lewis & Clark on Sunday was the GAME of the day. 99 Problems vs. Back That Pass Up, two teams who definitely earned the right to play for the Division 2 championship belt. Parity was the name of the game all season long, with teams pushing each other throughout the regular season and no one team being the favorite in this very compelling division. While Back This Pass Up had a relatively easy time against newcomers I thought this was dodgeball in one semi-final game, 99 Problems eked out a 37-33 win against always tough Balls & Dolls to reach the title game.
With fresh legs and a full squad for the first time in weeks, Back that Pass Up came out strong from the first whistle. Two evenly matched team, with everyone knowing this would be tight until the end. With timely stops and a knack for getting it across the goal line when in the red zone, Back That Pass Up held off a talented 99 Problems team 34-32 in a championship game that will not soon be forgotten by everyone involved on this fine night for Underdog championship flag football.
YOU ARE PLAYING FOR SECOND vs. Alcoholics Anonymous...#1 seed vs. #2 seed...two teams that were battling all season long for the top spot heading into the championship game. This game had all the makings of a classic Underdog championship game on Sunday afternoon.
The game started off as an offensive shoot out in the first ten minutes, with both teams displaying pinpoint route running and video-game like bursts of speed on both sides of the ball. With coach Tommy Moore doing his best Mark Helfrich impersonation on the sideline, the men and women of AA put the pedal to the metal in the second half, building a comfortable lead and securing an eventual 58-28 championship victory. Congrats to team AA on another Underdog flag football championship for a team that brings out the best in everyone on Sundays on the turf at Lewis & Clark.
Championship Sunday kicked off in fine fashion on Sunday at Lewis & Clark with a very entertaining game between Texas Forever and A Swift Kick in the Grass, two solid teams during the regular season and deserving of a chance to claim the title of Division 3 champs.
Texas Forever sprinted out to an early 20-6 lead, with many in the stands wondering if the game would all but be over at halftime. A Swift Kick in the Grass made some timely defensive adjustments to slow down the offensive onslaught towards the end of the first half, allowing their offense to become the focal point for the rest of the game. Kyle Morrow, the poster child of a dual threat quarterback, took the bull by the horns and willed his team to an impressive 52-46 come from behind victory and spot in the 2015 Underdog flag football ring of honor.
The 4:00pm men's championship game at Lewis & Clark on Sunday showcased the versatile skills of players on two veteran teams eager to raise the 2015 Lombardi wristbands. This game lived up to the hype and then some, with both teams trading score for score throughout the entire game. AA's tough as nails goal line defense and past experience in close game was too much in the end for talented Trying Not To Get Fined, leading to a hard fought 36-32 win and bragging rights as the team in the world of Portland flag football.

Another season, another championship for Pat, Cody, and the gang from Face Down Ass Up. In their toughest matchup of the season against a very balanced team, their offensive firepower proved just enough to hold on for the championship. The moment of the game was after Tenacious D scored (coming off a defensive stand) to be down by 2 points with about 7 minutes to play. On the first play of the new possession, QB Cody showed off his arm strength, going the entire field distance on a bomb to Trevor, who ran a post from the other side of the field and caught the beautiful ball in the endzone. After converting on a clutch 2-pointer to go up by 10, Face Down relied on their relentless defense the rest of the way en route to the championship. Congrats, and a great effort by Rich and the Tenacious D gang.

The veteran-laden cunning stunts have a few players who have brought home an Underdog title before. No matter how many titles they have, finishing with a perfect record makes this one all the more special.
Despite the perfect regular season, the playoffs would not be easy as the championship game was a dogfight with Triplicious. Prevailing by a narrow three-point margin, the stunts finished off the dream season with an Underdog championship. Hail to the victors!
After a solid regular season, Dino Nuggets turned on the gas when the playoffs started. After lighting up the first round with 43 points, the Nuggets did not slow down in the championship game.
Facing the top-seeded Bad Assets, the Nuggets pulled off the upset as they controlled the tempo and notched 31 points and another double-digit victory. Congrats to the Dino Nuggets and a much deserved Underdog title!
Finishing the regular season with a .500 record, the Sasquatch Militia faced an uphill battle to win the title.
While the first-round of the playoffs went according to plan, the semi-finals would not be so easy. Squeaking out a two-point victory, the Militia found themselves in the title game by the skin of their teeth.
Facing an upstart Simply Ballers squad, the Sasquatch Militia used their veteran experience to grind out the championship game and the 14-points victory. Congrats to the whole Militia crew for an incredible season!
What a season for #TeamLitz! After starting the season in a 1-3 hole (playing a very tough schedule), they caught fire, pulling off 5 straight victories, including wins over the #1 seed in the semifinal and the #2 seed in the championship game to claim the title. Maybe the tough early schedule was all they needed to come together as a team, as the ladies were amazing at catching the football and their defense, lead by Neil T (6 unofficial INT for the day) made for a thrilling finish. The championship game was great from the get-go, as Litz had an early 13-0 lead that was wiped away by 3 late-first half TDs by Blackout, and the score was 19-13 at the half. Litz came out strong, scoring on each possession in the second half and having 2 INTs in the endzone. When it all came down to it, Nick L darted a TD to seal the victory with 40 seconds to go. Great season, guys!

"It's been a while!" Kelli, the captain of newly crowned midcore champions BDA Misfits, exclaimed as she was handed the championship shirts. A while it had been, but a very well earned championship as BDA Misfits came from the 5th seed in the midcore bracket to wipe away the competition en route to the title. It was an up-and-down season for the Misfits, with their only two losses coming to the teams they ended up beating in the playoffs, culminating with a 41-12 drubbing of Triple Ecks, who handed them a two point loss the first week of the season. If we were to crown a season MVP, it would have to be Jonathan P, the QB who contributes just as much on offense as defense. Jon accounted for 6 TD's in the semifinal matchup vs. Bloodbath, including the game winner with 6 seconds left. When he is on his game, BDA is very tough to beat. Congrats gang!

Victory, sweet Victory. That's the championship spirit the Bolievers had all season, and with the championship in their grasp, they clutched it tight and never let go. Dropping only 1 game this season (and having a point differential of 12 points per game), they were high flying and held on in a competitive title game. They gave up an early TD to the Chappies, but the defense came through as they were able to put two quick TD's in the first have and never relinquished the lead, leading to the title. Led by QB Matt C, they had a comfortable lead the entire second half before allowing a meaningless TD with a minute to go, then getting the ball back to kneel it out. A very well played game and a very well played season, congrats guys!

After two fairly easy semi-final games, The U and Crosswired played a highly contested final. Though the U had a commanding lead at half, Crosswired came back in the second half to make it interesting but with two late INTs the U closed out strong to clinch their first championship as a team. Heather A dominated on both sides of the ball with, multiple sacks and a few spectacular diving catches.

Despite a tough matchup against a formidable Multiple Scorgasms, Pain Train dominated in a 33 point victory. Both teams played very close semi-finals, but Pain Train proved to be too much for Multiple Scorgasms. In the first half it was tight game until a key interception in the end zone by Pain Train resulted in an injured player for Multiple Scorgasms and lost momentum for the team as well. Thought they tried to regroup after the play, Pain Train was too much and pulled away in the second half.

Lawn Wranglers faced a tough test against a hungry and athletic Sky Waniacs team in the finals, but held on for an 8 point victory to add to their already impressive list of championships. It was a back and forth affair and got a little close for comfort when Sky Waniacs scored just after the two minute warning to pull within 8, but could not stop the Lawn Wranglers from getting a first down and running out the rest of the clock. Tad was the player of the for the Lawn Wranglers playing excellent defense and not committing any turnovers.

Let's call it what it is... BACK TO BACK CHAMPS!
As the perennial powerhouse in this league, these long time veterans have taken 2015 by storm. Much like fine wine, they just keep getting better season after season. They have found new ways to score this season with some creative plays and really locking down on the defensive end.
This playoff run was no different than the spring season's playoffs. They took advantage early each game, putting up points and finding ways to create turnovers.
The championship game was not much different. Pull it Out in the End struggled to find their offensive flow with Chris under center as AA broke up plays by jumping routes and Nate holding steady at the first down line. A quarterback change for Pull it Out in the End sparked some offense for a few drives. Ultimately though they could not overcome the onslaught of points AA put up in the second half.
It was another solid win for this crafty group, earning those highly touted wristbands. We may have to make some headbands for AA's next championship, as their arms are undoubtedly covered.
This championship was a classic battle between BSB and long-time rival (more like frienemies!) Show Us Your TD's. Both teams started the evening with putting up incredible numbers in the semi-finals, winning their games by large margins. But this championship was to be won by standing on the shoulders of their best defensive players.
After Michelle made the game sealing interception for BSB in the semi's, Nathan found his inspiration for the championship. He hauled in three interceptions from Show Us Your Td's always outstanding quarterback Dante. It was almost as if he knew where the ball was going before the snap.
It was a back and forth match with the rare touchdown slipping past each team. It was close all the way down to the end, BSB held onto their five point lead though with all of their might. They truly earned this win.
Congratulations Blood, Sweat, and Beers! Hold up those fingers (all of you this time!) because you are number one!
Taste My Rainbow knows how to have some fun out there. They compete every play but always have a smile at the end. They don't bicker and they don't fight. Taste My Rainbow seems like they just really enjoy playing with each other. That camaraderie was the key to winning the championship.
The game between Taste My Rainbow and Touch Me Down came down to the wire. Taste My Rainbow needed a huge stop and score to seal the game. That is exactly what they got. They trusted one another and just made the big plays when it was needed.
Great job out there!
BLOODBATH shows up every week with one goal in mind and that is to win. Their play never wavers no matter who the competition is. This well oiled machine just makes the plays and really makes all the smart decisions out there. Led by an amazing QB, BLOODBATH puts out a very skilled and athletic roster each and every season. In a tough Midcore league, BLOODBATH is always a great bet to come out on top!
Great championship victory!
Chappies have been a pleasure to be around all season. They just come out there and have fun the right way! They play like a team and they win like a team. If they lose, they don't sweat it because it really is just for the experience at the end of the night. These guys just had some great chemistry working for them all season as they went to the playoffs and won the championship.
Great job out there Chappies!
Freeballers took the league by storm once again. They were dominant and consistent throughout the whole season. It came to the point where they just wanted to see if they can score more points than the previous week. Freeballers will be back again next season to see if they can continue this dominant streak. But something tells me it will only get tougher from here as all the teams will give it their best to take out the reigning champs.
Great job Freeballers!
What had the making of an epic playoff day for AA turned out to be a walk in the park as their first game of the day was a forfeit.
This allowed them ample time to size up their competition and arrive fresh and hungry for their championship game with Back that Pass up.
Early in the game, Back that Pass up suffered a defensive blow as one of their team members was unable to make it out of the first half unscathed.
This didn't really have much of an impact on AA's performance though as they were defensive ball hawks, having 3 interceptions that thwarted numerous drives by their opponent early in the first half, building a 31-13 halftime lead.
Led on the offensive side by Justin and his all around good QB play, the AA crew in the second half put it in cruise control as they were able to play a man up on their opponent and bring home the victory.
In the end it was a well played game by both teams and Back that Pass up made a commendable effort in the second half to bring the game within 9 points.
AA though was the better team today and hoisted their first trophy as champs in a few years. Way to go team and great job closing out the season on a high note.
Capping off a memorable season, Balls and Dolls continued their winning ways by working through tough game after tough game in their bracket to finish alone atop of the mountain.
Led by some amazing QB play, and clutch catches by their all-star cast of ladies, the team made it count in the final moments of both games this week.
Not to be out shined by their offense, the defense came up big in both games having to make potential game winning stops on their opponents.
In the end they did it and they were so happy that they forgot to claim their prize (feel free to contact the office).
Great job this session team and we look forward to seeing if you can repeat in the fall.
The boys of Sunday Funday entered the playoffs on Sunday with a bullseye on their back, having just finished the regular season undefeated and ready to show this was no fluke on a sun drenched field at Lewis & Clark.
The first game in their title run pitted them against The Waterboys, a team that has just pulled off a hard fought victory against the team in green Team Best Buds. The game was close throughout the first half, with many in the stands wondering if a #1 seed upset was in the making. A inspirational halftime speech and much needed rest in the shade recharged their batteries, leading to an offensive showcase in the second half and convincing 40-12 victory.
Waiting for them in the championship game was #2 seed twirl baby twirl, a team full of confidence after a beating Stranger Danger 34-26 in a highly competitive semi-final bout. Both teams started off slow offensively, with a hard to believe halftime score of 8-8. Both defenses continued to flex their muscles throughout the rest of the game, with twirl baby twirl clinging to a 15-14 lead with just over a minute remaining. Sunday Funday leaned on their fundamentals and dug deep, putting together an amazing game winning drive and eventual 20-15 victory in a game that will be remembered by all who played and witnessed on this fine day for Underdog flag football.
In two spectacular victories on Sunday, the 6th seeded General Powell's Whale Hunt took home the championship t-shirts. In the semi-final, facing a tough opponent in No Punt Intended, the Whale Hunters exchanged the lead with their opponent on nine separate occasions in the 2nd half in a thrilling 49-48 victory. In the final, they proved that Whale Hunters are never to be denied, even in sweltering hot conditions, as they out lasted Tacklemore 36-26. Congratulations to the winners!

The benefits of being the top seed were never greater than on Sunday as the field temperatures at Nathan Hale were approaching the mid-90's. Justice League pulled off a gutsy last-second win over Green, only to face a well rested Malicious squad in the final. But it wasn't just the heat that wore down Justice League. Great play at QB from Reth Bon, and WR from his brother Jon made the difference in a 36-20 championship game victory. Congratulations to the winners!

It wasn't the first championship for THE TRIBE, but it was the first in a few seasons and the team appeared to be hungrier than ever on Sunday. And it showed on the field. In the semi-finals, Clear Israel led the way to a thrilling 28-25 victory. In the final, they continued to gut it out in the heat, as More Israel led the way to a remarkable 43-42 overtime victory, and yet another championship. Congratulations to the winners!

Lawn Wranglers managed to beat the heat, and their opponents on Sunday, managing to come up from the fourth seed and win another championship. Quarterback Tad O'Niell made the difference. His laser focus and precision passing was enough to carry his team through the semi-final and final round. His teammates were complimenting him all day on how he kept hitting receivers in stride, throwing 11 touchdown passes over two victories.

Early in the season, it appeared like BEWAMP was on the road to disappointment, but after continuing to improve throughout their campaign, it paid off in the playoffs with a glorious ending. Led by Preston Rock, who caught everything thrown his way, BEWAMP barely got by Xterminatiors 32-27, then breezed past Swamp Donkeys 40-19. Congratulations to the winners!

What a performance! After going down early in the semifinal matchup and playing without spark plug captain Dan-Vy, Flags to Riches turned in amazing back to back amazing performances in route to their second consecutive Saturday championship.
The key to both victories was a stifling defense, forcing numerous 4 and outs and a couple of very timely Interceptions. In the first game, they forced a 4 and out late in the first half and turned it into a TD as time expired, taking the halftime lead and putting emormous pressure on the Faux Destroyers. The suffocating defense intensified in the second half, allowing a single TD and getting just enough offense to prevail, 34-20.
The championship game was thought to be a close one, with the 6 seeded Universe Abides came in wanting to Underdog the Underdogs. That close matchup never materialized, however, and Flags to a Riches scored early and often, helped by Kevin B's 7 TDs. Their defense kept it up all day, forcing numerous iNTs and recording the shutout, 56-0. Overall a very successful day, and they earned it. Congrats on a great season!
Blood, Sweat, and Beers, that's all it takes these days. This team really came together after losing an early season game and put the pedal to the metal in the second half of the season to take home the championship on a beautiful sunny day.
After not playing in the regular season (but being very familiar with each other from seasons past), it looked like a classic matchup with Ninjas on Acid, and most of the game was played pretty close before Dom and the gang too, off and running to put it out of reach. It was a group effort, with Virginia contributing a couple long TDs and Megan going crazy on defense, racking up 6 sacks, including 2 in a row to kill a rally. The game broke open in the second half, as Dom had a couple nice long bombs to put it out of reach. Congrats gang!
What a season! It's not everyday you have an Indy team finish the season undefeated (no game came close), but this isn't your average Indy team. Loaded with talent top to bottom, this team has what it takes to compete with the elite Men's teams.
This championship game was their closest matchup of the season, as No Fly Zone wanted payback after giving up 86 points in their last matchup. It was a close game for much of it, but the offensive firepower proved too much toward the End as they prevailed and took home the ship. Congrats guys!
It was an epic battle for the championship this past Thursday night, as Bedrooms and More pulled off an upset victory over top seeded Broken Down Has Beens. The game was close throughout, with the teams being tied on four separate occasions. But in the end it was the cool hand of QB Drew Garfield and a timely interception that made the difference in a 40-34 victory.

Even after securing the championship victory, Vicious and Delicious felt they still needed to argue two calls (As correct as the calls were) that went against them. As the referees were handing out the championship hardware, all they could do was chipper about the two calls, one even resulting in a player claiming that her and the referee was not cool anymore. But this type of competitive edge is what pushes them to play close to mistake free football. Their competitiveness is what keeps them ready, even during the big stage. Instead of having to get ready once the game starts, they are already, ready when the game starts. This was evident that after getting down early in the game, team QB "Dom" looked at his team and told them, they were not going to lose this game. That confidence carried over to the rest of the team and they preceded to "Dom"inate the game the rest of the way.

It was an amazing shootout as Pack It In and TDs n Beer combined for 100 total points in the Gentleman's Championship Game on Thursday night. Pack It In drew from their championship experience of seasons past along with some amazing catches, clinching yet another haul of Champs Shirts. Congratulations to the winners!

Another season and another impressive performance from Face Down Ass Up. Led by their QB, Cody Nelson who had 5 Interceptions combined in the Semi-finals and Finals, they beat two very determined and talented teams. With 5 Interceptions combined in the Semi-finals and Finals. As well as his defense he played excellent throwing the ball all night.
In the semi's they had a difficult matchup with Arm Hair Quarterback, but the defense stepped up along with their offense and won by a comfortable 22 point margin. In the finals they played a confident Beer 30 team coming off a dominating performance in their semi-final game, but they were up to the task and won comfortably on their way to another championship.
After a great performance in the semi-finals where they won by 34 points and were dominating on both sides of the ball, their defense held off a talented Simply Ballers to win by one score. Everyone contributed, but Jon Knudtson stepped up with a key interception in the first half when Simply ballers needed a score and they were in the red zone.
Our Spring 2015 Flag Football season wrapped up last night with a thrilling championship game featuring the #1 seed and undefeated Campus Rec Rejects against the #2 seed upset minded No Protection.
When the teams met in a week 2 clash, the Campus Rec Rejects came away with a 24-14 victory, however No Protection earned their respect as a formidable foe that day and both teams were keeping an eye on one another as the prospect of a championship game rematch loomed.
As the championship game unfolded, Campus Rec Rejects offensive prowess proved to be too much for No Protection to handle and despite a valiant effort, No Protection eventually succumbed to the talents of our season champion Campus Rec Rejects.
Congratulations to all of the teams that competed in a great Flag Football season!
Trying not to get fined found themselves only two games away from claiming the championship this bright afternoon. They were firing on all cylinders today with the quarterback barking out codes at every down and players hustling about. They pulled out all sorts of plays that led to the constant touchdown scoring.
It was a bit of an up and down season for Trying not to get fined with injuries plaguing many of their players, but they found their stride at the right time. They continued to get after every flag pull and chase down every quarterback. Their resilience led them to this championship and no fines on the season!
The She unit skated into the playoffs as the sixth seed and looking a head to a very tough road to the championship. But as long as Chris and The She Unit are in the playoffs every other team is in danger. They matched score for score with Blood, Sweat & Beers in the semi-finals, throwing the winning ball as time expired.
The She Unit found themselves in a similar shoot out with Roustabouts in the championship. They continued to rack up the touchdowns throughout the game and ultimately out gun slinging Roustabouts. The She Unit caught impressive catch after impressive catch to claim the 2015 championship!
The championship match for our winter 2015 league was spoiled by the sunshine and blue sky all afternoon. The unusual playing conditions did not put a damper on the spirits of A.A. and Cromratie's Kids as they went toe to toe. It was a high scoring affair for both teams with A.A. tossing upwards of ten touchdowns to claim the title. they showed why they were the number one seed by making unbelievable catches time and again both offense and defense. Congratulations Alcoholics Anonymous on yet another championship!

The game started like most people hoped, both teams scoring and sunshine. The weather quickly turned to rain and the game turned in favor of Back That Pass Up. Back that pass up, despite playing without three key players, played a very well rounded game both on defense and offense and took a two score lead into half time. In the second half, Melon Farmers came charging back, but unfortunately for them the come back took too long to develop and they lost a close game 33 to 27. Josh A was awarded the player of the game for stepping up with their normal QB out of town and carrying his team to victory with 5 TD passes and few key rushes for first downs.

After two very close semi-final games, both teams were prepared for a tight contest and were not disappointed. Both teams started a little slow as Winslows Soldiers had just played in a close game and Slumpbusters seemed a little tight after the hour wait to play in the finals. The first half was back and forth and the game turned on a intercepted pitch attempt by the rusher Javier W. Winslows Soldiers scored on the ensuing possession and never looked back. In the second half both teams fought hard and traded scores. Unfortunately for slumpbusters, they could never get the defensive stop they needed to pull within one score and Winslows soldiers had a two possession lead until the final minute. Javier W was awarded player of the game for his key interception in the first half.

Touchdown There came into tonight's playoff game ready and confident. They rolled through their semi-final opponents against a team that defeated Team Q in a Cinderella like fashion. But Touchdown There didn't let that fairytale have a happy ending. Instead, they pummeled the competition to take them to the playoffs.
The championship game was a good one. 2 of the best going head to head for the top prize. Touchdown There did it all tonight. The quarterback play was damn near flawless and the receivers were making big plays all night. What stood out the most was how efficient the defense played. Once Touchdown There's defense reached the ball carrier, a flag would be pulled. No misses.. no mistakes.
A great team with great players took home the championship and it was well deserved.
Great job!
KTOWN had one loss all season long. That was against Too Offensive, who they would eventually meet in the championship game. Too Offensive was taking the league by storm and no one really stood a chance. But since their loss to Too Offensive, KTOWN has been on a mission to get revenge.
Going undefeated for the rest of the season after the loss, KTOWN showed why they deserved to be in the championship game. They are all phenomenal athletes that just straight up knew how to ball.
In the championship game, it was a back and forth battle between KTOWN and Too Offensive with amazing QB play on both sides. But it was the defense that would end up separating the two. KTOWN could pull flags and had the safeties that took away any shot at the deep ball. With their length and athleticism, they proved to be too much for Too Offensive.
Great win tonight! Well deserved victory!
It was a storybook finish to the season for No Punts Allowed. After a slow start, Quan Nguyen took over at quarterback and rallied this team to greatness. As the season progressed, No Punts Allowed continued to improve, and as the playoffs approached, word had spread that this team was a true darkhorse. And in the playoffs, the team showed a lot of heart in both the semi-final and final rounds, coming from behind to win in both games. On a day of record rainfall, nothing could stop the reign of this Championship Team!

This past Sunday was historic for not only the record rainfall, but also for Green seizing another championship. As the years have gone by, many championship level teams have come and gone, but the common denominator has been Green. Heading into the championship, up and coming Ball So Hard stood in their way. But in the end, it was some timely touchdown passes and great defensive play that made the difference in a 46-8 victory.

It was quite an eventful Sunday for the SCLSU Mud Dogs, as they fought through their struggles to win their first ever championship. With the massive amounts of pouring rain, memorable plays, and colorful language, this Sunday will not soon be forgotten. In the championship game, the Mud Dogs looked to be in serous trouble against Dan Quirk and Puget Sound Moose. But SCLSU managed to contain the PSM QB and come up with a clutch game winning drive and a massive goal line stand in a 34-27 victory.

It was an epic run for Ridonkulous as quarterback Marques Oliveria carried his team to the finals on just one leg, but the pass rush of Chris Grady was too much for the DONKs in the final round. As the game progressed, The Lawn Wranglers steadily took control like a Boa Constrictor pulling away for a 38-6 victory.

Oh, Snap with in fasion with a 2 score victory against a very tough Don't Stop Ballevin. DSB started out of the gates slow being a new team in the league, and they sputtered early, but by the end of the season could matchup against anyone. Oh, Snap is a veteran team who has an outstanding core of ladies and they rely on them greatly. The game was a terrific battle between the goal-lines with smart offenses that know how to chew off small amounts of yards and successful marches. Oh, Snap came up with a few key INT's that made the difference early as OH, Snap was able to burn lots of time with long marches down the field. Both teams had excellent seasons, but it was Oh, Snap that came out on top. Congrats Oh, Snap, the softball fields are now calling!

The top 2 teams in the league faced off in a very evenly matched game, both teams stacked with playmakers. West Cannon came into the game with one loss that was from Touchdown My Pants in a game that was decided by 6 points. TD My pants went undefeated all season, and that record did not change after the Championship as they beat their rival this time by 8 points. Both teams were able to handle the rest of the league, and the early on these were the 2 favorites. In a intense game TD My Pants was able to stay on top to win it all, and West Cannon's season ended with their second loss and both games decid by a total of 14 points. Great season to both teams, and congrats to TD My Pants who exited rocking the Champ Shwag!

"You Gonna Learn" won it all, coming from the middle of the pack in the standings, and won it all with fasion. YGL handed The #1 seed their second loss, as Jerry's Kids came in the top team who just won a Championship in another season. YGL was able to rely on their defense, especially the pressure that they put on the QB as they won the game by 10 points. Both teams had a chance late in the game but, with time dwindling YGL was able to hang on to a two score advantage with a great 4 and out defensive stand. Great season to both teams, and congrats to You Gonna Learn!!

The #2 and #3 seed faced off in this Championship, and both took different routes to the big game. The Fitytysons were the new team in the league, and took some lumps early in the season in very close games but learned lots as they went. Back That Pass Up is a more veteran team and they relied on a very stingy defense allowing the least amount of points all season. Fitytysons are a team are not a team to contend with in tight games and BTPU made sure they jumped out early, and then relied on their defense. With the final score ending 41 to 12 the more veteran team won the game, and as they did all season won with their defense. Great season to both teams, and Congrats to the banged up squad of Back That Pass Up!

The Midcore Championship brought two excellent teams up against each other, and the off-season deals were key for the victory. Lots of familiar faces on the field, but we're rocking different uniforms and both team's defenses had a pretty good idea what each other's offensnes were running. The final score ended 30 to 25, and it was GameFace that came out on top, as they were able to slow the flow of Bloodbath. The game went down to the wire, and essentially the game was determined between the goal-lines with excellent flag pulls. Both QB's found their recievers all game, but both defenses swarmed to the ball and yards after the catch was minimal for both teams. GameFace had better success on 4th down conversions, and took down the dominate Bloodbath crew. Great season to both teams, and excellent job GameFace!

Freeballers rolled to yet another Championship and did it with style putting up 103 points in their final 2 games of the season. Freeballers are all about offense, and rely on one or two big defensive plays to out score their opponents. It's rare the Freeballers don't score when they have the ball, and for anyone to have success better bring some heavy "D". This season there wasn't that type of defense, and Freeballers score Freely! Great season Ballers, and congrats on yet another Championship!

In a very stacked division of great teams it was Flags to Riches who came out on top. Going up against Team Rookies, a very solid squad with veteran players, and very very good female core of players in a very good matchup. Flags to Riches defense was solid even in this high scoring game that ended 34 to 47, they were able to disrupt the QB early who had an excellent season. Flags to Riches only suffered one loss all season, and averaged 41 points in the playoffs. Flags to Riches are solid at every position, and everyone played great in the post season, and with everyone's solid play they are your new Champs. Great season Champs!

In the tightest game of the playoffs as well as the regular season, the two toughest team faced off in a excellent game that was decided on the last play of the game. Team Sweet and the Reignmakers faced off as the top two teams of the league. Both teams suffered only one loss during the season and came in as the 1 and 2 seeds for the playoffs. Defense was huge in the final with a final score being 26 to 28. The last two score of the game came in the last minute of the game, as Reignmakers made a terrific march downfield able to catch a tipped TD catch to take a late lead. Team Sweet responded though with a couple of big plays to get the ball downfield, and on the last play of the game wee able to find Eric S. for the wining TD with no time left! Great game to both teams, as well as outstanding seasons!

Brothers &Bruthas.....& Paul are this seasons Champs and they did it with style. 8-0 was there season record, and early on they were the team to beat. In the Championship game it was the defense that made its mark early getting some very quick turnovers and just as quickly taking the opponent out of the game. Their offense was also working very well as they did put up 76 points in the Chipper. Hutt Chugs and Browndowns had great wins in the season, and definitely be a team to watch in the future, as they displayed lots of success during the season. On this day it was the Brothers who left the field rocking new Champ shwag, great season!

With a solid regular season, TDs in Your Face earned the #3 seed for the playoffs. Even with their high ranking, they would have to pull off three straight victories in one night to bring home the title.
Tds in your Face cruised to victory in their first two playoff games behind the multi-talented Michael Burris. His multiple TDs and INTs put his team in prime position to win the title. First they would have to knock off the top seeded Vandal Nation if they were to come out on top.
In a title game for the ages, TDs built up a big lead only to see the Vandal Nation charge back to tie up the game late. Determined not to lose, the TDs took a late lead and needed some good D to hold on. The Vandals scored with less than two minutes remaining but needed a 2 pt conversion to tie. That's when Josh Pan stepped up with a huge diving sack to preserve the lead and ultimately the victory! Great run TDs and congrats on your championship!!
Team Face Down is a perennial juggernaut in the Underdog ranks. They win most games by large margins and are owners of multiple titles. This season, they would face their stiffest competition in another veteran squad Tenacious D. In week 2 of the regular season, Tenacious D defeated Face Down in a tight 3 point game. Face Down would get a chance to exact revenge in the title game.
Led by retiring all-star Chip Wade, Face Down completely shut down the previously undefeated Tenacious D. Chip's 2 interceptions come up huge as Face Down pitched the shutout for a 24-0 championship victory! Congrats to the winners!
Finishing the regular season with a 3-3 record, The Puget Sound Moose found themselves facing an uphill battle in the playoffs as the #6 seed. If they were going to win the championship, they would have to win 3 games in one night. Matching their total for the entire season.
In their first two playoff games, the Moose went down to the final minutes to spring the upset over the #2 and #3 seeds. They relied heavily on quarterback Daniel Quirk's accurate passes and quick feet. Happy to get to the championship, the Moose now faced their biggest challenge, the heavily favored and undefeated top seed, B-town's Finest.
In week 2 the Moose lost to B-Town, but in the championship they would get their revenge. With the score tied and both teams facing overtime, the Moose pulled off the upset with a last second TD by Mitchell Larsen as time expired. Congrats on the championship! Hats off to the Puget Sound Moose!!
Balls and Dolls flat out came to play on Sunday. With a lower ranking in the bracket, they had to play their way all the way to the top of the podium.
Sunday was a little different compared to the regular season as as they dominated their opponents for much of the day, consistently scoring on each and every drive and putting together a strong defensive effort they proved who the better team was on this day.
Victory seemed like smooth sailing for much of the day, but they ran into difficulty was during the 2nd half of championship game where Vicious and Delicious came back from being down 42-6 to closing the game to within 13 points. Creating a tension and drama filled scenario that was reminiscent of what the Seattle Sea-hawks did earlier in the game.
But it was not to be today with the comeback falling short and Balls and Dolls putting the game away with a late TD. As Time ran out, their hands high in the air, they walked off the field as this Winters softcore champions.
Congrats to the Balls and Dolls team for a great run in the playoffs and good luck at the Rainbowl.
Roustabouts found themselves entering the playoffs. needing three wins to take the title. Throughout the playoffs though their game plan never changed. In the midst of a shoot out with The S(HE) Unit in the quarterfinals or a defensive slugfest in the championship against Back That Pass Up, Roustabouts stuck to their guns by controlling the clock and the ball.
Jason and Roustabouts took the lead on the very first play from scrimmage in the championship and never lost that lead. They took to the air and ground, while protecting their end zone at all costs. Roustabouts fought their way to the top and truly earned the title 2015 Champions!
Congratulations to Cromartie's Kids for running the gauntlet yesterday during our Men's league playoff schedule.
They went into the day knowing that if they won all three games, they would do what only a handful of teams have ever been able to accomplish at Underdog. That is repeat as champions 3 times in a row.
They started off the championship game a little shaky, throwing an interception on the first drive, and for much of the first half, they found themselves struggling to get momentum.
2nd half was a great defensive battle between both teams but Cromartie's Kids found themselves driving and scoring late in the game with about 5 minutes left. They made a great defensive stand towards the end keeping Doc Dynasty out of the end zone and looked to have the game won. Needing to have a long drive to run out the clock, they threw an interception with about 2 minutes left giving Doc Dynasty and opportunity to go for a game winning TD drive.
30 secs left and it seemed like Doc Dynasty was going to march into the end zone when out of know where a defender on Cromartie's Kids snagged an errant throw for the game winning Int.
Great match between two outstanding teams, but Cromartie's Kids survived an exciting day full on twists and turns to once again stand atop of the mountain as Champs.
They now have the opportunity to do what maybe no other team has ever done in Portland Underdog, which is 4 peat, but that's crazy talk...isn't it?
Touchdown there was the team to beat all season as they only lost one game putting them at the top of the standings. On the final night of the season they went up against two solid opponents, but showed why they were worthy of being Champs. In their first game they won 36 to 0, with a high octane offense and lockdown defense. The second game they matched up against a very solid and veteran squad, but jumped out early and never looked back. Arm Hair Quarterback is one of Underdogs top teams in all sports, but on this night they had no answer for Touchdown there. With the final score ending 32 to 20, touchdown there ended the night Champs by only allowing 20 points in both their games, yet put up 68, that's tough to beat by any ones math. Great season Touchdown there!

Bosworth's Buddies are a team that's been with USL for years, and have competed with the best teams but always fell just short of the Crown, but this season they changed that. In two tough games their first one they had the offense clicking and were able to had Insight Global a loss 35 to 18 to move on to the chipper. Turtle Snaps were the next obstacle to the elusive Champ shirts this group have been chasing for years, and with the dream so close they went all out. The buddies jumped out to an early lead, and executed a very stingy defense only allowing the Snaps 12 points. The Turtle Snaps know how to score putting up 58 points in their semi, but the Buddies weren't going to be denied. The final tics of the clock expired and the Buddies left the field Champs with a 40 to 12 victory! Great season Bosworth's Buddies!
