Long-time team Lawn Wranglers earned their way to another title on Sunday. The veteran group has competed at the highest level of Underdog Flag Football for years, taking home several championships in the early days of the league's existence. On Sunday, they showed that they still have what it takes by defeating the Sandy's Sad Pandas 44-34 in the Championship. A couple key interceptions by the Wranglers proved to be the difference in a close, hard-fought game.

“Golden Bears” entered the championship as the #1 seed and the favorites to take home the championship. Their offense was the main reason they finished the season undefeated, but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. It was a close game from start to finish, and no one knew who was going to be crowned the champions of flag football. The “Golden Bears” started the game on fire and scored on their first possession, but “Icy Hot” came right back and tied it up 1-1. Both teams played lock down defense for most of the game and kept it very close, but everything changed in the second half. Kirkland Signature opened their season with a loss... The clearly didn't like that very much and chose not do it again. The perennial Underdog powerhouse reeled-off 8 consecutive victories including the playoffs to take home the Midcore I Title on Sunday. But it wasn't easy road for the champs, as they were tested mightily along the way. They defeated Malicious 35-34 in the Quarterfinals on their final possession. In the final, #2 seed Little Giants game them all they could handle in 36-32 contest that could have gone either way.

Two veteran teams showed they deserved to be in the championship game at Lewis & Clark on Sunday. The game went pretty much as the experts had predicted...a high scoring, back-and-forth affair that saw a fair share of dropped passes in the first half due to Portland notorious liquid sunshine. Both teams cleaned up their act in the second half, with the ladies leading the charge as the "go-to" when a first down was needed the most.
Congrats to This isn't Kickball hard fought Division 1 title...we have a sneaking suspicion this won't be the last time these two teams meet up on championship Sunday at Lewis & Clark.

Two hard fought semi-final games resulted in Show Me Your TD's and Swear to Drunk meeting up for the Division 2 championship game Sunday night. Both teams started the game off a bit slow, with Show Me Your TD's still catching their breath (most notably Sailor) after a great game against The Oilers & Swear to Drunk giving it all they had in an overtime thriller against All Tight Ends.
Show Me Your TD's tightened it up just enough on defense in the 2nd half to erase a 14-16 halftime deficit and propel them to victory as the final whistle blew. Congrats to both teams on a great season and representing Underdog Flag Football in fine fashion.
