From Rally to Trophy: Dink 182’s Championship Run!

Rocklin Party Pickleball delivered a fun, competitive season that wrapped up with two weeks of playoff action at Twin Oaks Park, where consistency and clutch play ruled the courts. From the start, Dink 182 established themselves as a powerhouse, piling up dominant wins throughout the regular season, including multiple shutouts and statement victories over Volley Llamas, Tenacious D, and Baby Got Backhand. Close behind, Kind of a Big Dill quietly built momentum with steady performances and key wins against top teams like Gherkin Girls and The Krabby Paddles. The middle of the standings stayed tight all season, with Gherkin Girls and Volley Llamas trading punches and setting up a playoff field where nothing was guaranteed.

The playoffs unfolded over two weeks, starting December 4 and concluding December 18, and the bracket delivered exactly what it promised. In the quarterfinals, Gherkin Girls (#4) edged out The Krabby Paddles (#5) in a tight 5–4 battle, while Dink 182 (#2) rolled past Tenacious D (#7) and Volley Llamas (#3) handled Baby Got Backhand (#6) with ease. After a weather- and staffing-delayed week, the semifinals finally arrived, with Kind of a Big Dill (#1) advancing via forfeit and Dink 182 punching their ticket to the finals with a convincing win over Volley Llamas. The championship match lived up to the billing: in a back and forth finale, Dink 182 outlasted Kind of a Big Dill 5–4, capping a dominant season with a narrow, hard-fought title victory and proving they were the class of the league when it mattered most.

The Dinklebergs Do It: A Fourth Seed Climbs to the Crown!

The Thursday Beginner Pickleball League playoffs at Howe Park delivered two straight weeks of tight matches, big improvements, and the kind of chaotic fun that only beginner-league pickleball can bring.

In the quarterfinals, top-seeded #1 Now Serving made quick work of Happy Hour Dinks, taking the match 2–0 and looking every bit like a team prepared for a deep run. While that one wrapped cleanly, the other courts had their share of drama. #4 The Dinklebergs and #5 Mix Picklez delivered a competitive series that stretched to three games, but The Dinklebergs emerged with a 2–1 victory. Meanwhile, #2 Shiver Me Pickles showed off their consistency with a decisive 3–0 sweep over #7 The Pickle Party, and over on Court 4, one of the bracket’s first upsets took shape. #6 Dill With It pushed #3 Swiftie Servers into a tight three-game showdown and ultimately pulled out the 2–1 win, sending the underdogs into semifinal night.

When December 11 rolled around for week two, the semifinals brought an energy shift—higher stakes, louder sidelines, and more three-game scraps. The biggest shock came on Court 1 where #4 The Dinklebergs, who had already survived a quarterfinal grind, stunned the top seed. They took down #1 Now Serving by a 2–1 scoreline, sealing their finals ticket in a match full of momentum swings and long rallies. On Court 2, #2 Shiver Me Pickles faced the feisty Dill With It squad and had to fight off their upset momentum. After dropping a gritty second game, Shiver Me Pickles refocused and closed it out, winning 2–1 and punching their own ticket to the championship.

That left a finals showdown between #4 The Dinklebergs and #2 Shiver Me Pickles, and the energy in Howe Park felt more like a mid-season tournament than a beginner league. The Dinklebergs came in with confidence after taking down the top seed, and it showed. They came out swinging, took the first game, absorbed a strong counterpunch from Shiver Me Pickles in game two, and then answered with a composed, well-earned finish in game three. With a 2–1 victory, The Dinklebergs who were seeded fourth claimed the Thursday Beginner League Championship, capping off a run marked by resilience, clutch points, and back-to-back three game wins over the #1 and #2 seeds.

Two weeks, plenty of three-set battles, and a champion that truly earned their crown. A perfect beginner-league finish. Congrats to the Dinklebergs and all other teams for making this season a great one! We will see you on the courts soon!

  Kind of a Big Dill

A Big Dill Indeed: Top Seed Rolls to the Intermediate Crown!

The Intermediate Division playoffs at Howe Park brought two straight weeks of sharp rallies, power drives, and some of the cleanest dinking the league has seen all season. From the opening serves of quarterfinal night, it was clear this bracket was stacked with experienced squads ready to battle for every point. Top-seeded #1 Kind of a Big Dill set the tone immediately, sweeping #8 Workin Gerkins 3–0 and showing why they entered as the team to beat. Over on the neighboring court, #4 Team X delivered a commanding 3–0 victory over #5 Heferees, playing with a level of consistency that suggested they might be a dark horse in the bracket.

The later matches brought more intensity as the night cooled. #2 JJK – Let’s Get Pickled stepped onto Court 1 like a team with something to prove, dismantling #7 Team Z in a clean 3–0 sweep. Their signature blend of power returning and smart resets had the sidelines buzzing early. And in the final quarterfinal matchup, #3 Los Pepinos and #6 Bread and Butter battled through the tightest showdown of the night. Bread and Butter pushed the higher seed into a three-game grind, but Los Pepinos ultimately prevailed 2–1, securing their rematch against a familiar foe in the semifinals.

By week two, semifinal night at Howe Park felt like the league had shifted into high gear. On Court 3, #1 Kind of a Big Dill continued their dominant run, taking down #4 Team X with a decisive 3–0 win. Team X hung in rallies and forced long exchanges, but Big Dill’s shot placement and pressure at the kitchen line proved too much. The main drama unfolded on Court 4, where #2 JJK – Let’s Get Pickled faced off against #3 Los Pepinos in one of the most competitive matches of the entire postseason. After trading early game control, JJK locked in during the crucial points, taking the series 2–1 and booking their spot in the championship for a highly anticipated #1 vs. #2 showdown.

The finals brought everything an intermediate title match should—speed, finesse, and a crowd glued to every rally. #1 Kind of a Big Dill came out firing in game one, using aggressive third-shot drives and quick reflexes to capture the opener. But #2 JJK – Let’s Get Pickled, true to their name, refused to go quietly. They dug in for game two, extended rallies, and forced their opponents into rare errors, taking the second game and setting up a dramatic finish. The final game turned into a heavyweight exchange—smart resets from JJK, sharp angles from Big Dill, crowd gasps on several wild saves. But in the decisive moments, the top seed showed their championship pedigree. With a 2–1 victory, Kind of a Big Dill claimed the Intermediate Division title, completing a flawless postseason run.

Two weeks, zero losses, and a championship performance worthy of the #1 seed. The Intermediate Division ended with the crown right where the bracket said it belonged but only after a finals match that lived up to the hype.

Congrats to our winners and everyone that played on the courts this season! We can't wait to see everyone out there again!

  The Slice is Right

From Sixth Seed to Supreme: The Slice Is Right’s Championship Surge!

The Monday night Sacramento Party Pickleball League wrapped up its two-week, nine-team playoff with exactly the kind of energy you’d expect when everyone shows up with their game faces on. Even from the opening round, matches were tight across the board, with rallies so close that nearly everything came down to winning by just two points. The tension started early as #8 Rise & Brine and #9 The Big Dill battled for the right to move on. The Big Dill, seeded ninth, punched their ticket into the quarterfinals, setting the tone for an intense bracket run.

When the quarterfinals kicked off, the top seed #1 Big DINK Energy faced off against The Big Dill, and while the underdogs carried momentum from their earlier win, Big DINK Energy showed why they earned the top seed. On the other side of the bracket, #4 Carpe Dink’em and #5 Effers played a tight match of their own, with Carpe Dink’em advancing—but the effort they poured into that win was something they'd later feel. Meanwhile, the highly seeded #2 Chips and Dinks handled the #7 Volley Llamas, although even that matchup had its share of neck-and-neck points. And in one of the most hotly contested matches of the entire tournament, #3 Sacramento Dinks found themselves toe-to-toe with #6 The Slice is Right, a match defined by long rallies, sliding saves, and momentum swings. For The Slice is Right, it was a preview of the fire they’d bring the following week.

By semifinal night, it was clear the energy in the building had shifted. The recap someone shared summed it up perfectly: everyone arrived with game faces on. Carpe Dink’em had drawn a double header and, after already fighting off Effers, simply didn’t have enough gas left to overpower Big DINK Energy. Even so, they fought until the very end, but the #1 seed marched on. Over on the other semifinal court, #2 Chips and Dinks had their hands full with a fully assembled #6 The Slice is Right, who, for the first time all season, had their entire roster present—and hungry. Every match between them was neck and neck, but The Slice is Right played like a team chasing destiny, sliding, jumping, and grinding out the big points to earn their spot in the finals.

That set up a championship showdown between #1 Big DINK Energy and #6 The Slice is Right, and the atmosphere felt like the kind of playoff match people would be talking about for a long time. Big DINK Energy had been steady and composed all playoffs, but The Slice is Right had caught fire at exactly the right moment. What followed was one of the most entertaining finals the league has seen: wild gets, late surges, and a crowd fully locked in on every rally. And in the end, the newcomers-turned-giant-slayers completed their run. The Slice is Right, seeded sixth, took down the top team and claimed the championship, sealing a storybook finish to a competitive two-week battle.

A wild playoff. A hungry roster. And a champion who earned it the hard way. The Monday Sacramento Party Pickleball League couldn’t have asked for a better ending. Congrats again to The Slice Is Right and all teams who had a great run - we can't wait to see you next season! :)

Team B Sweeps the Bracket and Wins It All!

The Beginner II division brought a ton of energy to Howe Park on Tuesday night, with teams showing major improvement, great rallies, and plenty of competitive spirit. Even with some chilly November air, the playoff bracket moved fast and by the end of the night, Team B stood on top as champions.

The action opened with the 4th-seeded Team C taking on 5th-seeded DINKTR/X, where DINKTR/X battled their way through in a tight 2–1 win to advance. On the far courts, the 3rd-seeded Midcourt Crisis held strong against 6th-seeded Big Dink Energy, securing a 2–1 victory of their own and punching their ticket to the semifinals.

In the first semifinal, top-seeded Team B came out sharp and didn’t give an inch, sweeping DINKTR/X 2–0 to move on to the championship match. Court 4 featured a great showdown between the 2nd-seeded Delta Dingers and Midcourt Crisis, but Delta Dingers controlled the big points and closed out a 2–1 win to set up an exciting 1-versus-2 finals matchup.

The championship match delivered exactly what you’d expect from the top two seeds. Team B kept the pressure high from the first serve and maintained clean, efficient play throughout the match. They closed out the night with a strong 2–0 win over Delta Dingers, officially earning the title of Beginner II Champions.

Now Serving Delivers the Championship!

It was an exciting playoff night at Howe Park for our Beginner 1 Pickleball division, where every match brought great rallies, solid sportsmanship, and plenty of competitive fire from all six teams. The bracket delivered upsets, close battles, and a well-earned championship run by Now Serving, your new Tuesday night champs!

The quarterfinals kicked things off with the 4th-seeded Wrecking Balls taking on 5th-seeded What the Dilly Yo. What the Dilly Yo came out sharp and claimed the match 2–1, advancing to face the top seed. On the other court, the 3rd seed, Civil Serving (Blue Anchor Baddies), handled their opening round confidently, defeating 6th-seeded Cookin’ in the Kitchen 2–0 to move on to the semifinals.

In the semis, the intensity jumped up a notch. The 1st-seeded We’re In A Pickle squared off against What the Dilly Yo, where the top seed stayed steady and secured a 2–0 victory to reach the finals. On the other side of the bracket, the 2nd seed, Now Serving, battled with Civil Serving in a tight, competitive match. Now Serving found another gear in the key moments and pulled off a 2–1 win to punch their ticket to the championship.

The finals featured exactly the matchup everyone expected — 1st seed vs. 2nd seed, both teams looking strong at just the right time. But on championship night, Now Serving rose to the occasion. Behind consistent dinking, smart placement, and strong teamwork, the No. 2 seed took control and closed out the match 2–0, officially becoming your Tuesday Night Beginner 1 Pickleball Champions!

Darby Dominates: Intermediate Champs Crowned!

It was a fantastic playoff night at Howe Park as our Intermediate division squared off for the final time this season. The energy was high, the rallies were long, and every team showed up ready to compete.

The semifinals kicked things off with the 1st-seeded Los Pickle Peloteros delivering a strong performance, securing a 3–0 sweep over Really Big Dills. Their consistency at the kitchen line and confident shot selection earned them a smooth path into the championship. On the opposite court, the 2nd-seeded Team Darby found themselves in a tougher battle against the 3rd-seeded A Pickleball Team. After trading points and fighting through momentum swings, Team Darby pulled out the 2–1 victory, showing grit and resilience that hinted they might be the ones to watch.

That proved true in the finals. Team Darby came out focused, controlling tempo early and forcing mistakes from Los Pickle Peloteros with steady serves and smart placement. Despite the top seed’s best efforts to adjust, Team Darby maintained their rhythm and closed out the match with a clean 2–0 win to secure the Intermediate Championship.

Huge congratulations to Team Darby, your Fall 2025 Intermediate Division Champions! They earned it with sharp play, teamwork, and clutch performances when it mattered most.

And in the end, they proved worthy of every bit of hype.

Their semifinal matchup with the Volley Llamas wasn’t easy, as the Llamas fought hard and forced long rallies, but Kind of a Big Dill stayed composed and walked away with a 2–1 win. Serve and Survive Go Undefeated to Claim Rocklin Beginner Pickleball Title

Serve and Survive wrapped up a dominant season with a gritty 2-1 win over Pickle Patrol in the Rocklin Wednesday Beginner Pickleball championship, securing their crown and capping off an undefeated 9-0 run. The top-seeded squad showed why they were the team to beat all season, surviving their toughest match yet in a back-and-forth final at Twin Oaks Park.

The champs opened the playoffs with a clean 3-0 sweep of The Real Dill before battling past Paddle Daddies 2-1 in a closely contested semifinal. On the other side of the bracket, Pickle Patrol powered through Relish the Game in the quarters and then knocked off #2 seed Its the Wind in a 2-1 semifinal upset—paving the way for a high-stakes rematch with Serve and Survive, who had narrowly defeated them 2-1 during the regular season on June 11.

Both teams came in familiar with each other's style, and the final lived up to the hype. Serve and Survive’s steady shot selection and strong communication helped them edge out their determined challengers, repeating their regular-season result and walking off the court with championship hardware.

Big kudos to Serve and Survive for running the table and looking sharp while doing it! Whether you were tracking every rally or just here for the post-game drinks at UoB, this season was full of fun—and that banner photo is championship-worthy all on its own. Congrats to the new titleholders!

Pickle these Ballz Go All the Way in Rocklin Intermediate Pickleball

Pickle these Ballz completed their wire-to-wire run through the Rocklin Intermediate Division with a 2-1 win over Dirty Pickles in the championship match, sealing a spotless 9-0 season. The top seed came into the playoffs as the heavy favorite and proved why, staying calm through a pair of tight playoff victories to clinch the title under the lights at Twin Oaks Park.

After shutting out No Big Dills 3-0 in the quarterfinals, Pickle these Ballz found themselves in a battle against Cookin in the Kitchen in the semis, edging out a 2-1 win to reach the final. Awaiting them was the sixth-seeded Dirty Pickles, who carved out a Cinderella run of their own—knocking off Team A, Bold and Brash, and second-seeded Carlos Danger’s Dinkers to earn their shot at the trophy. The final saw some crafty shot-making and long rallies, but Pickle these Ballz maintained their edge and secured the championship with another 2-1 finish.

Their season resume reads like a highlight reel: five sweeps, four 2-1 wins, and not a single loss. From their opening night shutout of Carlos Danger’s Dinkers to a hard-fought midseason victory over Dink 182, Pickle these Ballz never wavered, even when tested late in the season.

So hats off (or paddles up) to Pickle these Ballz—undefeated, unbothered, and now officially untouchable. That Xoso banner’s got some serious swagger behind it. Cheers to a season full of dinks, slams, and a whole lotta fun.

A Really Big Deal: Dills Dominate the Championship!

After two exciting weeks of pickleball playoffs, the Thursday Beginner League has wrapped up with a thrilling finish and one team rising to the top as champion. The postseason began with a single first-round matchup, as the 8th and 9th seeds battled for a spot in the quarterfinals. Team C came out strong and swept The Real Dills 3-0, earning their place in the next round.

With the first-round byes behind them, the higher seeds stepped onto the court for some high-stakes quarterfinal action. The top-seeded Really Big Dills faced off against the newly victorious Team C and had to dig deep to survive a tough match, ultimately winning 2-1. Gherkins and Stay Out of the Kitchen played a nail-biter, with Gherkins narrowly taking the win 2-1. Mizz Picklez also faced a close match against The Dinklebergs but managed to come out on top 2-1. Meanwhile, the Pickle Princesses cruised through their quarterfinal match with a dominant 3-0 sweep over Dink Dink.

The semifinals featured four strong teams ready to leave it all on the court. Really Big Dills, continuing their strong run as the top seed, showed no signs of slowing down and shut out the 4th seed with an impressive 3-0 victory. On the other side of the bracket, second-seeded Mizz Picklez took on the surging Pickle Princesses and matched the energy of the top seed, winning 3-0 to secure their spot in the finals.

The championship match was set: the top two seeds, Really Big Dills and Mizz Picklez, clashing for the title. In the end, the number one seed proved exactly why they earned that top spot. With sharp teamwork, consistent play, and unwavering momentum, Really Big Dills swept Mizz Picklez 3-0 to win the championship and close out an incredible season.

Congratulations to the champions, Really Big Dills, and to all the teams who brought energy, sportsmanship, and fun to the league. What a season!

"The D is for ‘Delivered’"

The Thursday Beginner II League wrapped up an electric two-week playoff run with an unexpected twist and a hard-fought championship match. With the top two seeds receiving a first-round bye, the quarterfinals gave lower-seeded teams a chance to make their mark early.

Team A squared off against the Dopamine Dinkers in a close match, but the Dinkers came out on top 2-1, advancing to the semis. Meanwhile, Pickled Peppers made quick work of Dink and Dash, cruising to a 3-0 win and looking sharp heading into the next round.

In the semifinals, the playoff energy kicked into high gear. Top-seeded Kush and Dem Boys faced the surging Dopamine Dinkers, but in a surprise upset, the Dinkers edged out the win 2-1 and sent the number one seed packing. On the other side of the bracket, second-seeded Team D met third-seeded Pickled Peppers and made a statement of their own, shutting them out 3-0 in a decisive performance.

Picklebacks Bring Home The Title!

The Beginner Division I League playoffs wrapped up in classic pickleball fashion—tight matches, big upsets, and a championship game that went down to the wire. With the top three seeds earning a first-round bye, it all kicked off with an intense matchup between the Rally Cats and the Cinco Crew. Both teams came to play, but it was the Cinco Crew who edged it out 2-1 to move on to the semifinals.

From there, things only got more competitive. Top-seeded Pickle My Balls took on the hot-handed Cinco Crew and managed to hold them off with a 2-1 win. Meanwhile, the second-seeded Picklebacks squared off against the third-seeded Pickle Rapp in another razor-close battle. The Picklebacks kept their cool under pressure and came out on top, also winning 2-1.

That set up a finals clash between the league’s top two seeds: Pickle My Balls and Picklebacks. In what may have been the most exciting match of the season, both teams pushed each other to the limit. But when it mattered most, it was the Picklebacks who sealed the deal with a 2-1 victory, claiming the championship and finishing their playoff run on top.
