"My Little Pony Singalong Squad" is our Sunday Soccer league Division 2 champs after a great championship night. They entered the night as the second-best team during the regular season and it showed through their two playoff games.
In their first game of the night they defeated "The Other Team" by the score of 4-1. Earlier in the season both teams played to a 1-1 tie, so the 4-1 victory definitely showed how well this indy squad had grown as a team.
In the championship game they took on the #1 team through the regular season, "Liquorpool FC". What made it harder for "My Little Pony Singalong Squad" was the fact that "Liquorpool FC" had by far the highest point differential of any division 2 team this season with a +19 compared to our champs who ended with a +9.
For the second time that night though they were able to score four times en route to a strong 4-1 victory, and with it the championship! Overall the win capped a five game winning streak, ending the league on the highest note possible.
Once again, congrats to "My Little Pony Singalong Squad" for a great season!
"Team Iceland" has taken the top spot in Division 1 of our Sunday Soccer league. They were nearly perfect throughout the season posting a 9-1 record, and more importantly won both playoff games making them the title winners. In fact, all 9 wins came in a row after losing their first game of the season to "The Real Try-Hards" by the score of 2-1.
In their first game of the night "Team Iceland", who was the #1 team through the regular season, took on #4 "Libertad FC". "Team Iceland" won that game by the final of 4-2
In the championship game they took on "Kickballers" who came in as the #2 team and defeated "Enoch's Angels" by the score of 5-2. This set us up for a rematch between #1 and #2 where "Team Iceland" defeated "Kickballers" earlier in the season by a narrow 4-3 victory.
The championship game was certainly a high-scoring affair as both teams were firing on all cylinders on offense. But, "Team Iceland" proved they were the better team and were able to pick up a 7-4 win. As they say, a good offense is the best defense. That certainly proved to be the case in the championship for "Team Iceland".
We'd like to congratulate "Team Iceland" once more for their nearly perfect season as we crown them the Division 1 champs!
Won in PK's!

Our Division 1 Sunday Fall Soccer league wrapped up with multiple teams vying for the the championship.
When all was said and done it was "Tangarang FC" who walked away victors after picking up a crucial 5-4 win over "Kickballers" who was also in the running for some hardware. "Kickballers" were undefeated going into the last night of the season, but despite a valiant effort their championship run was cut short in a high-scoring affair with plenty of fireworks. Even a draw would have meant 1st place for "Kickballers", but "Tangarang FC" would not be denied and in the end were the ones who got to call themselves champs.
Key in the "Tangarang FC" season were two 5-0 wins against "Real Try-Hards" and "Littlefinger FC" that helped keep them near the top of the league table for the season. An important draw against another contender, "Libertad FC" halfway through the season also proved to be crucial to keeping their dreams alive for a title.
Congratulations to "Tangarang FC" for a fantastic championship run concluding in a great final game to remember for the ages.
Our Division 2 Sunday Fall Soccer league entered the final night of the season with three teams with the potential to dawn our awesome championship sweaters.
Our eventual winners, the "Public Enemas", started the night in 3rd place behind "Team C" and "Goals for Days". "Public Enemas" saved their best game for the last night of the season though as they picked up a crucial 5-0 victory that would prove to be the difference.
"Team C" was in the driver's seat on that fateful Sunday, but a devastating 4-3 loss ended their run.
Throughout the season "Public Enemas" was on top of their game. Their biggest win of the season was probably a 2-1 win over "Goals for Days" because it gave them that one extra point in the goal differential column that made the difference.
A fantastic season for a number of competitive teams this season, but in the end only one, "Public Enemas", remains on the top of the hill.
Our Late Summer Thursday Soccer league came to an exciting conclusion last night as our championship game took place after our regular season games wrapped up.
The top team in the league, "Salsa Verde" had already secured their spot in the final, but they didn't rest on their laurels, instead finishing the regular season on a high note, defeating "Blue Balls" by a score of 4-0. Meanwhile, the stakes were high in the final regular season game between "The Real Team A" and "Red Vipers". The winning team would play for the championship immediately following their game while the loser would head home without a trophy and only their thoughts of what could have been to keep them company. "The Real Team A" despite trailing the "Red Vipers" slightly in the standings heading into play, proved they were the stronger team, at least in head to head play, as they defeated "Red Vipers" for the third and decisive time this season.
Thus our championship game was set between two well oiled soccer machines, "Salsa Verde" and "The Real Team A". Although "Salsa Verde" held a 2-1 advantage head to head during the season, "The Real Team A" came into the game with confidence having won the most recent match between the squads only one week prior. If it was a near pick em game on paper the action on the pitch lived up to the billing. Both teams were stout defensively and the goalkeepers passed each test until a single goal put in the back of the net by "Salsa Verde" sealed the deal.
Congratulations to "Salsa Verde" and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.
There were several strong teams in our Late Summer Wednesday Soccer league, but one team stood head and shoulders above them all. "Sheer Gold" navigated through a challenging regular season unscathed, never tasting the cold bitterness of defeat and only once being pushed to a draw. That draw would later be avenged, and it was defensively that "Sheer Gold" really shimmered bright as they allowed a shockingly low 6 goals in 8 games.
In the championship game, "Sheer Gold" faced the battle tested veteran team of the "Xosiopaths". Talent and team work were on full display as the game was played at a high level. Nevertheless, the slick passing and stout defense of "Sheer Gold" proved an insurmountable force and they captured the championship by a score of 2-1.
Congratulations to "Sheer Gold" and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.
Our Thursday Soccer season championship was held last night between "Salsa Verde" and "The Real Team A". On paper "The Real Team A" was a 3-1 favorite to take home the title but that's why we play the games.
"The Real Team A" was the powerhouse of the league during the regular season, amassing an outstanding 6-1-1 record, including a 2-1 record against "Salsa Verde".
"Salsa Verde" took a more unconventional route to the finals. They finished the regular season 4-4 with a couple surprising loses on their ledger early in the season as they struggled to find their team identity. But once this team found their groove they never looked back winning 5 of their last 6 games including a shockingly one sided final by a score of 5-2.
Congratulations to "Salsa Verde" and to all of the teams that competed in a great soccer season.
It was one of the tightest championship races we've seen in recent memory as 4 of the leagues 5 teams were bunched tightly in the standings, and entered play on the final night of the season with a realistic chance at earning a spot in the championship game.
Our eventual champion "Los Gigantes" found themselves on the outside looking in after a win by "Sheer Gold" in the opening game of the night forced "Los Gigantes" to need a victory by 3 or more goals in their regular season game just to make it to the championship game.
Undaunted by the task, "Los Gigantes" took down their opponent 4-0 and secured their spot in the championship game versus "Sheer Gold". The teams met twice during the regular season with each team winning once, so we knew this game was up for grabs. On this day however, it was "Los Gigantes" that stepped up when the pressure was on stifling the offense of "Sheer Gold" while notching two valuable goals en route to a 2-1 victory.
Congratulations to "Los Gigantes" and to all of the teams that competed in a great soccer season.
Our Spring 2015 Wednesday Soccer league wrapped up last night with a single elimination, winner take all playoff between the leagues top 4 teams. Bragging rights, family honor and an Elixir bar tab were at stake.
The action got underway with the #1 seed "Los Gigantes" taking on the upset minded #4 seed "Green Lanterns". Despite finishing the season with a losing record, the Green Lanterns played gallantly and gave Los Gigantes a run for their money before ultimately succumbing to the more talented top seed 3-1.
In our second semi-final the #2 seed Sheer Gold took on #3 seed Team B in a rematch of a regular season clash that ended in a 2-2 tie. The game featured strong defense and a couple timely shots on goal as Team B escaped with a 2-1 win.
Thus our championship match was set between Los Gigantes and Team B. The two squads had met twice previously in the season with Los Gigantes coming away with a 3 goal advantage in each contest. However, it was evident early in the championship game that Team B had learned from those loses and made the necessary adjustments to improve their chances. Los Gigantes remained poised and demonstrated why they were the leagues top team with exceptional passing and controlled the ball for the majority of the action during the game. As the final whistle blew it was Los Gigantes on top by a 2-1 score.
Congratulations to Los Gigantes and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.
Our Spring 2015 Division 2 season concluded yesterday with the divisions top 4 teams taking to the pitch in a winner take all playoff to determine division supremacy.
The first semi-final was an instant classic between two veteran teams, #1 seed Purple Drank FC and #4 seed BS United. Regulation play commenced with the teams locked in a tie on the scoreboard which meant that penalty kicks would decide which team was moving on and which team was going home. The upset minded BS United held Purple Drank FC scoreless in penalty kicks and secured their spot in the finals. In the second semi-final, #2 seed Turf Down for What won by forfeit, and warmed up for their finals showdown with a scrimmage victory.
Thus our final was set between Turf Down For What and BS United. When the two teams met earlier in the season Turf Down for What walked away with a 4-2 victory and we expected another close contest in the final. However, Turf Down for What came out firing on all cylinders and never relented for a moment winning in decisive fashion 7-1.
Congratulations to Turf Down for What and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.
Our Spring 2015 Sunday Soccer Division 1 playoffs were held yesterday as the leagues top 4 teams competed for the season championship, a bar tab at Blue Cue and bragging rights.
The action got underway as the top seed and undefeated Jalos FC put the rest of the league on notice that they were the team to beat by swarming the defending champ Kickballers early and often winning a high scoring battle 8-3. In our second semi-final, #3 seed Shenanigans pulled the mild upset taking down #2 seed Desert Sand in a well played game 4-2.
Thus our high stakes championship match was set between Jalos FC and Shenanigans. When the two squads met earlier in the season Jalos FC dominated play winning 6-1. Shenanigans were thirsty for revenge and eager to hand Jalos FC their first defeat of the season, but it wasn't to be on this day. The talented Jalos FC team excelled with strong ball skills and a dazzling offensive display, winning the championship 8-4.
Congratulations to Jalos FC and to all of the teams that played in a great Soccer season.
Our Spring 2015 Thursday Soccer season wrapped up last night as the top two teams in the league squared off in the championship game to determine once and for all which team ruled the pitch on Thursdays.
Tangarang FC entered play as the favorite having never tasted the bitterness of defeat the entire season. However, their opponents Team A had a very solid season as well and if the two regular season contests between these squads was any indication we were in for a great game. Tangarang FC got the best of one of those earlier matchups by the smallest of margins winning a 1-0 nail bitter and the second game was a classic that ended in a 2-2 tie.
On this night however it was all Tangarang FC. They came out blazing, taking the action to Team A's side of the field early and often. Great teamwork and offensive skills were on display as the talented Tangarang FC gang scored early and never looked back, eventually winning the championship by a 4-1 final score.
Congratulations to Tangarang FC and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.
Our Spring 2015 Friday Soccer season wrapped up on Friday as the leagues two top teams took to the pitch focused on bringing home the championship.
The championship game featured 7-0-1 To Be Determined, versus 5-1-2 Team B in a rematch of a regular season game the two teams had played against one another the previous week. In that game the two squads fought to a 4-4 draw.
The championship game however would not prove to be as hotly contested as To Be Determined came out firing on all cylinders jumping out to an early lead and never looking back as they cruised to a 4-1 win and captured the season championship.
Congratulations to To be Determined and to all of the teams that competed in the soccer season.
Our Winter 2015 Wednesday Soccer league championship game was held last night, and it was a hotly anticipated showdown between the leagues two top teams. Sheer Gold entered the contest as the top seed and favorite, boasting an impressive 7-1 record. Los Arboles FC claimed the #2 position, entering the match with a 5-2-1 record, but with a skilled veteran roster no one was discounting the possibility of an upset.
In the regular season the two teams split a pair of great games, with the winning team prevailing by a single point in each contest. The championship game and decisive rubber match was another low scoring defensive struggle. Sheer Gold struck first blood and followed up with a second goal while their defense proved impenetrable holding Los Arboles FC scoreless en route to a 2-0 victory.
Congratulations to Sheer Gold and to all of the teams that competed in a great Soccer season.

Our Winter 2015 Sunday soccer league wrapped up yesterday with the top 4 teams from division 1 squaring off in a winner take all playoff showdown. The upset of the night came in our opening game as #4 seed Tangarang FC out dueled #1 seed and championship favorite Plan B by a score of 4-3.
Next up #2 seed Team Iceland looked sharp rolling to a 5-1 victory over #3 seed Blue Steel, nearly equaling the final score from when the two teams competed in the regular season.
The championship game featured exciting back and forth action with a high level of skill on display. Team Iceland held on to a tenuous 3-2 lead as the game neared completion. Tangarang FC was awarded a penalty kick with the opportunity to tie the game, but the attempt failed and Team Iceland celebrated a hard earned championship.
Congratulations to Team Iceland and to all of the teams that competed in a great soccer season.
Our division 2 Sunday soccer playoffs got underway with a massive upset as the #4 seed Kickballers, who barely squeaked into the playoffs with a .500 regular season record, took it to #1 seed The A Team from the outset and never looked back cruising to a 4-1 victory.
In our second semi final, #2 seed Desert Sand took on #3 seed The Usual Suspects in a game that lived up to the expectations. Tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, the game was decided on penalty kicks as The Usual Suspects out kicked their opponents to move on the championship game.
In the finals, The Kickballers solidified their magical night outplaying the higher ranked Usual Suspects winning the championship in style by a final score of 5-2.
Congratulations to The Kickballers and to all of the teams that competed in a a great season.
