DAANG, we have an upset alert in D1! đ¨ After a shootout win over reigning champs Manny's in the semifinals, Fire Nation FC took on top seed and undefeated Justice League in the division final (is that a @roundtripfc pick âem challenge winning jersey we spot? đ how fittingâŚ). It was a close one, but Fire Nation bent a shot into the back of the net for the game's lone goal, and earned their first ever SOPFC trophy! Those champ shirts are a good look for y'all đĽđĽ

After losing a close game in the D2 finals last season, Popped a Volley I'm Sweatin' brought a dominant effort in their second season, going undefeated through nine games and scoring a division leading 44 goals! Another strong team coming to D1 next season. Don't believe us? Just watch. This squad was originally composed of free agents, and it's great to see them become a true team since that time.

Back on top! Reynoldstown FC has made it to the finals in each of their four seasons since moving to the Over-30 league, but just couldn't quite get it over the line in the last two seasons, losing both finals by a single goal. This season saw a return to championship form though, and in a battle of neighborhood teams, Reynoldstown defeated Highlands OMSC 2-0. That makes six SOPFC trophies overall for this group since 2017 đŽ, tying them for fourth all-time on our Champions Wall!
Our Thursday Over-30 league is growing to 10 teams next season - will any of the new challengers break the streak? đ
Third time's the charm! After three seasons and two final appearances, Soccer Stars shined bright in our Tuesday Open D2 final and can call themselves champs! It was far from an easy match against tough opponent Multiple Scoregasms, and one that was so close the two sides could only be separated by a shootout. The Stars weren't interested in any constellation prize this time around though, and take home their first trophy in SOPFC. We're over the moon to have this group in the league, and have a feeling this latest win won't be their last đ
In their first season after promotion from D2, Kach Zetchum FC saw struggles early on, including a brutal 7-2 loss to eventual final opponents Foreign Bodies. This group never gave up though, and were able to earn the 4 seed behind the efforts of leading goal scorer @deezy_f_maybe and 8 others who found the back of the net over the course of the season đŽ Big thanks to @mcpicklejar for the official stat-keeping, and best of luck on going for three! Those new champ shirts look good on ya â

If youâve played in our Tuesday Coed league, you know beating 5-time champs and 8-time finalists Pixelated PKs is no small task. One might say it would even take a miracle. Clearly, new team God Is Here didn't get the memo, as they beat the reigning champs in both Week 1 and the Championship match! Congrats on the 3-0 win and clean sheet, and prayers up for any and all opponents you face next season đđ˝

We have a new streak in the Over-40 league, and what a match we saw in the finals! Both teams are former champs, but it was Has-Beens getting a win over Old New Boys in a 15-ROUND PK SHOOTOUT. Was clearly a night where keepers were asked to stand on their heads, because even after all that shooting from the spot, the score was only 3-2 on penalties. Congrats to Has-Beens on their second overall championship and the start of a streak, and best of luck to both teams in their quest for Over-40 glory next season!

Sometimes when new teams join the league, it takes a season or two to figure the league out. In Bonesaw's case, it only took a few games. After starting the season 0-4, they won their final three regular season matches and entered the playoffs as the 3 seed. That same winning streak was stretched to five after beating the top two seeds and becoming our latest D3 champs! Something tells us this isn't a case of beginner's luck, and we wouldn't be surprised to see them cut through the D2 competition next season đŞ

Our D2 Saturday final was a real nail-biter that saw two first-time finalists in Hotlanta Heat and Bain Atlanta. After a scoreless first half and some stout defense from both teams, Bain found an opening and scored the match's lone goal to become our D2 champs. La Tricolor conceded only 4 goals all season before the finals, but 5 proved to be too many! UltrAtlanta scored the goal they needed and won the D2 title by a score of 1-0, giving their top-seeded opponents their only loss of the season. This one is extra special, because the clean sheet hero for the Ultras earned that elusive first SOPFC trophy in his 14th overall season and 5th final appearance!! Congrats @_latinheat, and the rest of the team, and good luck next season!
We're used to seeing this group in our Monday Coed league, but this version of Pitch Slap put the Wednesday Open league on notice. No team in D3 scored more or allowed fewer, and they won the final in blowout fashion with a 5-1 score! This was definitely a case of the best team getting the win, and we have a feeling they'll give some of these D2 teams some trouble.
New teams don't usually win their leagues, and any team that goes winless in their first 3 matches will have a hard time just making the playoffs. But what you talmbout?! Last night, our top four soccer teams battled to see who would end the season on top, with perennial favorites Plan B entering the night as the #1 seed.
Plan B cruised through their semi final game, winning easily 6-0 to move into the championship.
The other semi-final was much closer. Beercelona and Squad FC played quite the match, with Squad FC holding a slim 2-1 lead as the game wound down. Beercelona tied the game on a penalty kick in the final minute, and then won in PKs to move into the final round.
Our Championship game was a rematch of a 5-1 Plan B victory early in the season. This time it was much closer! At the end of regulation, the game was tied 0-0, so the game moved into penalty kicks. Unfortunately Beercelona couldn't maintain their PK prowess and they missed their first four kicks, leading to a 2-0 won for Plan B in PKs.
Congrats Plan B!

The game was neck and neck for most of the first half, until âPlan Bâ scored a miraculous goal to take a 1-0 lead. Momentum swung in favor of âPlan Bâ after that first goal, and it stayed that way for the rest of the game. âPractice Squadâ scored an amazing goal of their own, but âPlan Bâ displayed their incredible offensive talent and scored two more goals of their own. âPractice Squadâ played their hearts out and made it a great game, but âPlan Bâ came out firing on offense and won the championship 3-1!

Thursday Coed is one of our fastest growing leagues, and this season we had some new teams shock the league! In a final that featured two teams in their inaugural SOPFC seasons, Caribbean Knights won a close 1-0 game over Round Trip Brewing FC and were crowned champions of the league. Only fitting that a new team is the first to get the new champ tees đ

We've officially got a rivalry folks! The rematch of last season's final was a nail-biter that saw a last second goal and a PK shootout, but it was Goalfellas that claimed the top spot over Reynoldstown FC this time around. Congrats to veteran captain Pat and the team on their 2nd trophy in their 21st season, and best of luck in the next one!

Water is wet, the sky is blue....and Kroos Control are a good soccer team. It took a tough-fough 2-1 win over recently promoted Valley Hill FC, but Kroos Control's victory marks their 7th (!!) trophy across all competitions, and puts them at 4th in the list of most SOPFC trophies of all time, and first among active teams. Congrats on adding another to the cabinet, and thanks for your continued support over the years!

Our Saturday Coed D1 final was a close game throughout that saw both teams go to Penalties. In the end, it was Bobby's Jorts who earned the win by way of their goalie converting his PK! Bobby's Jorts now can reclaim their D1 title, and this latest win marks their 5th championship in 6 different D1 seasons. 5 more and they'll hold the all-time SOPFC record for championship wins, and at this rate, it's looking like it'll be tough to stop them!

After lighting issue on April 13, and scheduling conflicts by both teams the following with ASL was finally able to host the Winter 21 Coed Soccer Championships in gorgeous weather on an amazing artificial turf field hosted by EDS Flowing Wells Campus.
NAFC was off to an early lead with 2 goals in the first half, then a 3rd goal late in the 2nd half. Despite multiple shots on goal by Bettis FC and a more aggressive 4-3 offense in the 2nd half, Bettis was unable to score. As the game play was much closer than the score suggests.
