A Net Six squad reaching the championship match? We’re familiar with that sight. Winning both an Open and Coed final on the same night? Seen that movie before. Maybe the folks at @netsixandchill_atl sensed the monotony, or just had pity on whoever it is who’s had to write unique descriptions of their now 27 championship runs. But for Wednesday’s last game of the night, we were treated to a first-ever All-Net-Six final, and D1’s top 2 seeds gave us the evening’s best match. A 2-2 draw at 50 minutes forced penalties, where N6 Premier did enough to beat frenemies N6 Alpha and claim another trophy. Nice job on the win, Net Six! Also, you’ll get ‘em next time, Net Six!

Without feather ado, here come @owlsfcc! The squad from Kennesaw State University returned for their 5th season after a disappointing campaign that saw them relegated, and they were intent on making their D2 stint a short one. A week 1 loss to newly promoted Tiki Taka FC was probably not part of the plan, but a quick regroup would see the team rip off wins in the next 8 games, including a revenge win over Tiki Taka in the finals. It’s exactly the kind of fowl play we can get behind. Congrats on the win, and best of luck in your return to D1!

After achieving a winning record and securing a playoff spot for the first time last season, BlueScreens FC’s championship Window officially opened up. A rough start thru 4 matches put even qualifying for postseason play in doubt, but a positive Outlook provided the team with the boost they needed to finish the season on a 5-game win streak. A single goal plus a clean sheet gave them the championship win they worked for, and while D2 will surely be a step up, we have no doubt about this team’s ability to Excel wherever they are. Congrats on your first league trophy, and thanks for a great season!

It’s one of those things that doesn’t even sound right when saying it aloud, but @bcsbfc went without a trophy all of 2023 (cc: @afcmarta). It took a whole 38 days into the new year to find out if they’d get their hands on a 2024 trophy, but a 3-1 win in the finals means the Bras are back on top! That’s now FIVE cups for the Bras, and a THIRD perfect 9-0-0 season, once again standing alone as Wednesday Night’s only blemish-free team. And they might just be getting warmed up: from the Silly Stat Department, their +38 goal differential this season was only the 7th-best mark for the team in 11 tries 😬 Nice job snapping the streak, and best of luck starting a new one!

It was a banner ̶n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ season for WNBOGs. @miahammered had only just missed out on a trophy last season after a close loss in the finals, and were clearly determined to take another swing at it this time around. With a 7-0-2 record, the Hammers were 1 of 2 undefeated teams on Wednesday, and after a 3-1 finals win, we’d say they hit the nail on the head. Shoutout to much-improved @hotlantasoccer sides for a strong season and finals appearances in both divisions, and congrats to Mia Hammered on adding a second trophy to the collection!

@_cityboysfc closed out the previous season with the last Sunday trophy of 2023, and picked up where they left off in the new year. After a 5-1-1 regular season record got them into the playoffs, a semifinal win over @brewhousefc gave the Boys a championship date with the familiar faces of Tegridy Farms, a rematch of last season’s final! Could they do it (again) on a cold and rainy late afternoon in Midtown? They could. They did. And now they’re back-to-back champs 😎 Congrats City Boys, and thanks for another great season!

While D1’s final featured two teams we’re used to seeing, Sunday’s D2 final saw two new Sunday teams—FC Big Cap and Bonesaw FC—vie for the division crown and promotion. Both teams clearly had great debut seasons, but it was Bonesaw FC that was just a cut above the rest of their D2 peers. If a PERFECT 9-0-0 record wasn’t enough, the Saw scored 39 goals, allowed just 4 all season, and recorded 5 shutouts! Safe to say Bonesaw was indeed ready. Look out D1, you got a good one comin’!

EPEAT CHAMPS! @byeweekfc_ joined the league just 4 seasons ago, but they’ve made quite the impression on Thursday’s top flight. They’ve reached the playoffs in each of those 4 seasons, have 3 championship appearances, and now 2 Division 1 trophies! This season was an especially good one for the squad, as they went undefeated for the first time in team history with a 7-0-2 record, the only zero-loss squad across ALL Thursday teams 👏 Congrats on a great season, and good luck on the threepeat!

@mannys.fc entered their 13th Thursday Coed season after a winter break and something of a trophy drought by their standards. It had been nearly two years since they last won a division title, and at the time it was their 3rd in 5 seasons! Thursdays have grown a bit since 2022 though, and despite adding several more strong teams like co-finalists @soccerstars_fc_, Mannys was able to win what might be their toughest title yet and will be headed back to D1 next season. That makes 7 trophies overall for the club, and you can find a good number of them at @mannysgrantpark. Welcome back, and best of luck in D1!

The battle for the latest Over-30 D1 trophy gave us a classic SOPFC matchup, and with a 6-5 scoreline it was a fun one to watch, too. @goalfellas cruised past upstart Queens Park Strangers in the semis to reach their 11th final, and newly-named Highland 2.0 was able to beat an always-strong @reynoldstownfc before earning a 9th game for the 8th time in team history. Both finalists joined our club in 2016, and between them have an INSANE 69 (nice) seasons between them! Hardly a Dark Horse, 1-seed Highland 2.0 came out on top in an 11-goal scorcher, and earned their 4th trophy in team history! Congrats to both teams, and thanks for all you do to make our club great. Pizza party at the skipper’s spot to celebrate @pizzasaporidinapoli?
Speaking of name changes, Revegeancer FC made their Over-30 debut last season and were given a warm welcome from the rest of D1 that ultimately led to relegation. Hoping for a better sophomore season, the squad rebranded to The Ginyu Force and had their hopes realized with a 6-1-0 regular season record and the division’s top seed. While the Whiskey Shooters were the lone team to defeat them during the season, a finals rematch went the way of The Force, who clearly did not forget their roots and got their revenge with a 2-0 win! Shoutout to captain/fearless leader @mcpicklejar for bringing some familiar league faces to the Over-30 league, and good luck in D1 next season - GINYU FORCE RULES!

Thursday leagues gave us the first SOPFC champs of 2024, and on a night where every other division title was won by the top seed, @threatlevelmidnightfc bucked the trend and are D3 champs as a 2 seed 🐶 And while this masterpiece didn’t quite take three years of writing, one year of shooting, four years of re-shooting and two years of editing, it was almost exactly 1 year after their first SOPFC trophy! Shoutout to our winter season teams for toughing out a cold one, and congrats to Threat Level Midnight on the hardware and promotion!

“Great White buffalo” are the Division 2 Champions of the Fall ‘23 season, after defeating “Fresh Squeeze F.C” 5-4!
It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night and it did not disappoint! “Great White buffalo” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with an impressive goal, but “Fresh Squeeze F.C” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and tied the game up at 1-1. Both teams played their hearts out and scored two goals to start off the game. No one knew who’d be crowned the champions after the first half and everyone had a feeling the game would come down to the wire. “Great White buffalo” came out of halftime determined to score and that's exactly what they did. “Great White buffalo” scored another immaculate goal at the start of the second half and took an early 3-2 lead. “Fresh Squeeze F.C” offense came alive right after “Great White buffalo” scored and continued to apply pressure to “Great White buffalo’s” defense. “Fresh Squeeze F.C” scored two goals to go up 4-3 in the second half and It looked like the “Fresh Squeeze F.C” were going to be crowned the champions, but “Great White buffalo” had other ideas. “Great White buffalo” was able to score two goals late in the second half to take the lead and they never looked back from there. “Fresh Squeeze F.C” kept it competitive but “Great White buffalo’s” offense proved to be too much for any team to handle!

D1’s got a new champ! It wouldn’t be quite fair to say they mowed over their competition with a 4-3-0 record, but in their 3rd season ever @puravidalawn qualified for post-season play for the first time in team history. And for all that hard work, they drew BOTH @netsixandchill_atl Wednesday squads in the playoffs 😳 An upset and PK win in the semifinals earned them a finals spot, and after some finals PK heroics from a familiar face, Pura Vida lifted their first team trophy! Congrats to the Guys in Green, and best of luck on the title defense!

This Wednesday season’s championship night was one of the crazier ones we remember. Of the 5 matches hosted, 2 were decided by just a single goal and 3 of them were decided by shootout! Open’s D2 final was one of the latter, with league vets @soccerstars_fc_ and Pink Pony Lunch Shift playing to a tie through 50 minutes. The two teams have a combined 21 finals appearances between them, but it was the Daytime Dancers that captured their 8th trophy, good for 5th all-time in club history 📈 Good luck to the Lunch Shift on their return to D1, and thanks to both teams for another awesome season!

Tiki Taka FC found themselves in the D3 final for the second time in as many seasons, and after a 0-2 loss in their last effort, they were set on achieving a different result. @roundtripfc put up a solid effort, but a 3-0 second half lead was too much to overcome, and Tiki Taka is headed to D2 with their first trophy! Big shoutout and congrats to TTFC captain and league ref @elijah.marcelin on the deserved ‘ship 👊
This train just keeps on rolling 🚂 Despite a regular season where they only managed 3 wins (their fewest in any season), 2-seed @afcmarta once again made the final and would face @bcsbfc for the 4th time in a row! Anyone who’s been out on Wednesdays knows this matchup is one of the great ones, and there’s only a very thin Red, Gold, Green, or Blue line separating these two teams. A draw after the full-time whistle called for a shootout, and Marta was just a bit better from the spot that night to win their 4th trophy in a row, and 6th trophy in 7 seasons! A win for Marta next season would mean 5 in a row, tied for the most back-to-back championships of any SOPFC squad ever 👀 Congrats to both teams on another great season, see you after Thanksgiving break!

WNB celebrated its 10-season anniversary when they kicked off this season, and Atkins FC knows how to celebrate. In the most dominant performance of any SOPFC team (in any league, on any day, ever), Atkins conceded JUST A SINGLE GOAL over the 7-match regular season. A steady diet of dubs and clean sheets earned the group a deserved 1-seed, but playoff opponents did not make it easy. A PK victory after a 1-1 regulation draw in the semifinal against @dds_unleashed saw Atkins double their number of goals conceded, from 1 to 2 😉 @miahammered gave them another tough game in the final, but a 3-2 win gives Atkins the D2 title! Not content to let @federballafc steamroll another season, Chivas captain and new dad @albertoray97 didn’t let a little postpartum insomnia keep him from registering and leading a stellar squad.
Utilizing a 3-3 formation with a slow and comfortable playstyle, Chivas punished mistakes and were lethal on the counter. While they didn’t recreate Federball’s perfect season of 9-0 (they even lost to them earlier in the season) it had to be these two, again matched up in the final. You could cut the air with a knife before Chivas opened the scoring and the rest was history.
With the weather turning and temperatures cooling, Sunday’s D1 champs are here to remind you it’s a City 🏙️ Boy🕺Fall 🍂 @_cityboysfc sat atop the division table from Week 1 all the way to Week 9, and with an unblemished 7-0-0 record, they were never going to lose that spot. Reigning champs and 5-time finalists Tegridy Farms are a strong squad in their own right, and they did not make it easy for the Urbanites. A close game called for a gutsy effort, and a lone goal for City Boys was all that was needed to win their first trophy since October 2022, nearly a year ago to the date. Congrats City Boys, and good luck on the repeat effort!

D2’s final was an especially fun one for us: Sunday post-season play had eluded both Net Busters and Club Foot before this season, but semifinal wins for both in their playoff debuts meant a first-time final appearance for both squads, too! And if the D1 final was close, D2’s title match had razor thin margins 🤏 3 goals for each side meant the match would be decided by spot kicks, and Club Foot did just enough to win their first trophy as a club and secure promotion. Shoutout to long-time Captain @kboutin for leading his Sunday and Tuesday squads through some tough seasons, this one is well-deserved 👏

As we enter the cooler parts of the year, a pair of Jorts might seem impractical. Just don’t tell that to this group. Finishing the regular season with a nearly perfect 6-0-1 undefeated record, their only blemish was a 1-1 tie against eventual co-finalists and familiar frenemies HurriKanes. And when we say familiar, we mean it: not only was a rematch of the regular season draw in store for the finals, but this marks the third season in a row the two squads were the last standing in D1. Last season went to the ‘Kanes in a close one, but the Jorts had no intention of keeping it close this time around, and a 3-0 win gives Saturday’s winningest team their 13th trophy, good for second all-time among all SOPFC teams 😮 Nice job, and good luck to both teams in the rivalry match(es) next season!

For the fourth season in a row, Thursday Coed’s top division has a new champ! A glance at the table shows they left their opponents behind early in the season: 40 goals with an 8-1-0 record were both division-best marks, and no other team had more than 4 wins. A farewell to the season came in the form of two HUGE playoff wins, including a 5-1 semis victory over @fcsp_atl and an 8-0 win against @hungry.hungry.hippogriffs in the finals 💨 It’s a 1st trophy for this group, and they’ll have a chance to be the first repeat D1 champs in over a calendar year next season!
Both D2 finalists managed to secure upsets in the final rounds, so this trophy match featured two low-seed “underdogs,” though post-season play was hardly unfamiliar to either squad. 4-seed @soccerstars_fc_ were last season’s D3 champs, and found themselves with a chance for a second title and promotion in a row. 3-seed Badgers qualified for post-season play in 3 of their last 4 seasons, but could never get past the semis. Something had to give, and in a close 3-2 win, it’s Badgers who earn their first trophy as a Thursday squad! Congratulations, rooks! Prepare for takeoff, destination D1 ✈️ ⬆️

New team in name only, @sopfctraphouse rounded up some familiar Monday faces to make a new squad, and did not wait long at all to showcase some footie pyrexcellence 🧑🍳. 8-0-1 was not only tops for D3, but was also the only undefeated record for all Open and Coed teams. A matchup against @koolkickzfc had the division’s top seeds vying for a trophy, and after 50 minutes The Traphouse™ came out on top. Congrats on a dope season, and see y’all for the next one!

Joga! Joga! Joga! A strong @jogafc2023 side rolled through the D1 regular season with a 4-2-1 record, and earned their 2nd playoff berth in as many seasons. The group was on quite a revenge run, too. A semifinal win against Bambeto FC avenged a 0-2 regular season loss, and a postseason rematch against Dad Bods resulted in a 3-1 win for the 1st-time champs! The team name and even yellow kits remind us of those old school Joga Bonito commercials, and if you’ve seen this group play you know they certainly do so beautifully. Nice job on the D1 tropy, and good luck defending your title!

Speaking of revenge, D2’s final featured a team that had something of a Hero’s Journey. If the Departure was gearing up for this season, then the Trials for @_herofc_ would have to have been the two regular season losses (one of which was 0-7 🫣) against division leaders GloryboyzFC. Still, a Return to the final gave them a third chance at beating the D2 titans, and though it was close, Heroes came out on top! Gotta love an underdog, and the win also means both divisions were won by 3 seeds 🐶 We’ll warn D1 teams now, these squads are no joke, and you’ll see both next season. Congrats on the first!

“Plan B” are the Thursday Soccer Champions of the Late Summer ‘23 season, after defeating “11 Shades of Grey” 3-0
“Plan B” came into the playoffs as the #2 seed and as one of the favorites to take home the title. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. The championship started off very evenly matched, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. “Plan B” started to turn up the heat midway through the first half and was able to score an impressive goal to take the lead. “11 Shades of Grey” kept applying pressure to “Plan B’s” defense, but “Plan B” stayed strong on the defensive end all game long. “Plan B” played a very well rounded game scoring three goals on offense and not allowing “11 Shades of Grey” to score the entire game. “Plan B” proved that they are the team to beat and won the championship 3-0!
Congratulations to “Plan B” on becoming the Thursday Soccer Champions!
“Practice Squad” are the Tuesday Soccer Champions of the Late Summer ‘23 season, after defeating “Plan B” 2-1!
“Practice Squad” came into the playoffs as one of the favorites to take home the title. Their incredible offense is why they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their impressive defense and amazing teamwork was the main reason they made it to the finals. The second half started off as a defensive battle but “Plan B” was able to score a goal of their own to tie it up. It looked like the championship was up for grabs, but “Practice Squad” turned up the heat and scored another goal to take a 2-1 lead. “Plan B” kept the game competitive all the way until the end, but “Practice Squad” was able to hold them off and won the championship 2-1!

All of the Wednesday finals were real nail-biters, with no team winning by more than 2 goals in Open or WNB. Even still, it was obvious which match was the most exciting, and WNB's D1 final had more than a few fans on the sideline to take in some championship action. In what was easily the closest game of the evening, @afcmarta and @bcsbfc traded a pair of goals and took a 2-2 tie all the way to the 50' mark and FT whistle. Penalty kicks nearly went the same way with both teams combining to convert 7 of the 8 from the spot 🎯, but @brookieee017 stopped the first shot she faced, and it was enough for Marta to be the first ever WNB squad with 5 trophies! Congrats to both squads, and thanks for always making this derby a can't-miss match!

Speaking of derbies, WNB's D2 final was another match to feature familiar frenemies, with @hotlanta_valkyrie facing off against @hotlanta_phoenix in a battle between the division's top seeds 🔥 The championship final was the 3rd time the teams had met all season, and the 2 regular season matches both went Valkyrie's way. Another strong effort from the WNBGK union decided this one though, and @rxnester shut out the top-seed's offense to give Phoenix the 2-0 win and D2 crown! Special shoutout to both Captains, Jill and Marilia, who have played a HUGE role in helping grow the WNB league into what it is today 🫶 D1 teams should watch out, we're adding two good ones to the division next season!

@netsixandchill_atl made their return to Wednesday Open's top division for the first time since January 2022, and D1 opponents were worse off for it. A 5-2-0 regular season record earned the team the premier division's number 1 seed, and a semifinal win would give them a chance to avenge one of those losses in the final. While @kickinthegrassfc got the better of them in the regular season, N6 had it when it counted, and a second half comeback sparked by @coachantman gave his team a (still) league-leading 26th trophy! Congrats to The Conglomerate, and see you next season (and Tuesday and Thursday, too)!

Més que un pub! D2's final was another fun one on the night that featured familiar faces in @soccerstars_fc_ and a new team in FC Beercelona. When the two teams faced off in week 4, the Stars gave them a warm welcome to Wednesdays by way of a 5-0 thrashing. Even still, Beercelona led ALL Open squads with 8 wins, and beat none-the-weiser Soccer Stars in the division final to become Sons of P̶i̶t̶c̶h̶e̶r̶s̶ Pitches champs 🍺 Congrats on the trophy, and good luck in D1 next season!

Division 3 got the Open division kicked off on championship night, and a matchup between two first-time finalists meant we were getting a new champ! Tiki Taka FC beat Jags in the regular season finale, which saw the two squads trade places in the table heading into the postseason. Hardly underdogs, 4th-seeded Jags went early on in the division final, and never looked back to put on the night's most dominant performance. A 2-0 FT score will see the Dortmund-clad team into D2 next season, and we wish them all the best! Here's a little motivation for teams that fell short: each and every Wednesday Open champ won their final against a team that beat them in the regular season. So for next season, remember that there's always the next one 💫
🔙🔛🔝‼️ After losing the division title game in a close one last season, @mannys.fc are Tuesday's latest Over-40 champs, and have now won a trophy 3 times in the last 4 seasons. That makes it 6 overall for the local pub team, and it didn't come easy. 5-time Over-40 champs and friendly rivals Has-Beens conceded only 1 goal in the division final, but it was all Manny's needed after a strong defensive effort produced a clean sheet. Congrats on another one for the bar at @mannysgrantpark, 1st round on @devinray44!

The Office made their SOPFC debut last season and by all accounts had a great run, reaching the finals and finishing as division runner-up. Another strong campaign carried them into the Coed finals again, which meant the SOPhomores were up against Tuesday titans @netsixandchill_atl in a rematch of last season's final. It was something of a tough day at the office for N6, and after 50 minutes and a 2-2 scoreline, The Office handled their business in PKs, nabbing their first trophy and earning their title as the latest Coed champs! 16 goals scored is the fewest of any 2023 champion (seriously, we checked all 76 champs), and is one of the more impressive stats we've come across in a while 🤯

But it's like this though... the South got something to say! Trophy #1 comes in final #2 for @sportingsoufsidefc, and not without a little revenge. A 3-2 regular season loss to @netsixandchill_atl was reversed in the top flight's final, and the Serpents were the ones to come away with a win in the rematch after a 2-2 draw sent the decider to PKs. Fun tactics note for aspiring champions: Soufside FC's 20 goals allowed was the second worst mark in D1, but 35 goals for lead the way 🐍 At least for this season, the best defense was a division-best offense. Congrats on the first, and see you next season!

Mitch Don't Kill My Vibe finished their fourth Sunday Open season with their first title, and took the going-out-on-top route when they decided to try out the Tuesday night league. The switch from daytime play to under the lights didn't phase this group at all, and with a 7-1-1 record they were Tuesday's ONLY 1 seed to win their division! Have to also shout out co-finalists @straw_hats_fc who made their third final in 5 seasons. Congrats on 2 in a row, Mitch, and good luck in D1!

Tuesday had a championship night for the ages, with all 5 matches being decided by a single goal. According to their own team page, Fodder's team motto is "If you ain't first, there's always second." They'll have to wait at least another season to find out, because they finished their first as D3 champs! That same team page describes the squad's history as a "bunch of men who peaked athletically in high school but still wish to re-live the glory days," and from where we're sitting, the glory days look alive and well 🤠

MESSIas FC was oh so close to winning it all last season, and only missed out on a trophy because of a close 1-0 loss to MG’s Scumbags. The reigning champs took this season off though, and Thursday Coed's throne was up for grabs. Despite making the playoffs as a 4th seed for the second season in a row, MESSIas was able to complete its redemptive arc, this time on the other side of a 1-0 final win against @hungry.hungry.hippogriffs to earn their 2nd trophy in team history!
BIG upset in D2's postseason this time around, courtesy of @goti_fc’s own Krunkles and Co.! A 3-3-1 regular season record earned a 3 seed, but it didn't come without its lumps: Week 4 and Week 6 matchups against regular season champs @fcsp_atl accounted for 2 of those losses, where Krunkles conceded a combined 11 goals and only scored 3 😮💨 A third matchup between the two teams came in the division final, and a 4-goal performance proved to be more than enough to claim the team's first trophy ever! Congrats to both teams on earning promotion, and a special shoutout to Krunkles captain Tim! Best of luck in your new city, and thanks for all the years of playing with us!
Another @goti_fc team reached their championship final, but fell to SOPFC's newest multi-team club, @soccerstars_fc_! As Thursday's only undefeated team across all divisions, the Stars scored an average of over 5 goals a game and conceded only 7 all season before rattling off clean sheets in BOTH semis and final matches. A third trophy added to the @thelostdruid gets them a spot on our Wall of Fame, and we're certain they'll continue to climb in future seasons. Great job on the perfect season, and best of luck in D2!
Over-30’s top flight had one of the closest regular season finishes in recent history. Only 3 points separated 1st from 4th, and seeds 2 through 4 had to be separated by goal differential. Co-finalists Bangers Only and Queens Park Strangers played a regular season match to a close 4-3 win in favor of the Strangers, but it was 4-seeded Bangers Only that won their first trophy in a championship shootout! Over-30 hasn't had a repeat champ in 6 seasons, so we're expecting another nail-biter next season. Best of luck to both teams, and thanks for the support ✨

We were excited to add some new Over-30 squads this season, growing the league to 2 divisions for the first time since 2019! In only their second playoff appearance and their first since 2019, Misfits FC got off to a scorching start, soundly beating top-seeded It's Electric 5-2, and doing so as the only team to put more than 2 goals past the division favorites all season. They followed that with a 2-0 blanking of Wahooligans, and after 10 seasons these Misfits can finally call themselves champs 🤩 Thursday night was truly one for the dogs, with both 4 seeds claiming their respective division titles. Congrats, and see you for season #11!

The latest Sunday Open D1 title goes to league vets Tegridy, who had a more than fruitful season. In their 9th campaign, this group went a perfect 9-0-0, scoring 31 and conceding only 6, leading all Sunday squads in both categories. The defense was so good, it feels worth highlighting that opponents managed to score more than a single goal only 1 time against Tegridy all season, and the team defense earned an insane 5 clean sheets in that time 🧼 All of that was good enough for trophy #2, and their first since August of 2021. Congrats!

IG pals @hatmanfc came into their 3rd season having only amassed 3 wins in their previous 16 matches, but they turned things around this time and managed to earn D2's 3 seed with a 5-1-3 record. A 3-0 blanking of K-Town in the semis earned the team a spot in the finals, where a 2-1 win over @storm_.fc saw them take home their first trophy! This season's D1 final featured two squads we're used to seeing there. Top seeds @afcmarta and @bcsbfc have a combined 13 final appearances in 15 seasons, and before Wednesday were the only trophy winners in league history. As expected, it was a close match, but Marta's 1-0 win earned them a threeepeat trophy AND Wednesday's only perfect 9-0-0 record. Keep an eye on next season's table: both teams have 4 titles each and a tiebreaker is up for grabs 🍿

Nailed it! In their 8th season, WNBOG’s @miahammered went above .500 for the first time in team history with a 5-4-0 record. It took beating the top seed in a semi, but they reached the final to face off against fellow Inaugural Season members @hotlanta_valkyrie for a chance at promotion. Goals from @lexichasej and @willowevelynm, combined with a clean sheet from @404_hannahh were good enough for a win and the team's first trophy! Congrats on becoming the first D2 champs ever, and thanks for all you've done for WNB Wednesday's.

We'll always have a bit of a soft spot for the veteran teams getting their first s̶i̶l̶v̶e̶r̶w̶a̶r̶e̶ trophy, and in their 10th season, Goldstein & Associates did just that. It was their 4th time earning a spot in the playoffs, and each time they've done so as the lowest seed. A team-first semifinal win against the 1 seed and previously undefeated @soccerstars_fc_ was followed by a tight 1-0 championship win against Neverest FC. Ausome job y'all, and see you for season 11!

Back on top! After making the finals and falling to eventual champs in the last two seasons, @reynoldstownfc are Over-30 champs again! 2-1 wins in both the semis and the finals earn them their 4th Over-30 title and 8th trophy overall, good for 5th all time among all SOPFC teams. Next season will be the Homegrown squad's 28th, and we are incredibly thankful for their support over the years. See y'all next week, and best of luck in the next one!
We're used to seeing the Scumbags on Monday nights, where they've won 5 D1 coed titles and have been one of the strongest teams in the league since they joined in 2021. One night a week clearly wasn't enough, and the group brought their talents to Thursday Coed. A finals matchup against last season's D2 champs in @messiasfootballclub was a 1-0 nail biter, but the Scumbags can now claim the top spot on two different nights! Congrats, and see you next season!

The regular season matchup between the teams was a back-and-forth 3-2 win for Bye Week, but Injustice League saved their best for last. D2's final was a 7-goal thriller, and while the previously mentioned SOPFC rookies @byeweekfc_ put up a good fight, it was Injustice League who will be heading to D1 after winning 4-3. That's back-to-back trophies for a squad that is only in their second season, and we're looking forward to the top flight matchup next season against sister team @justice_league_fc.

A new team with plenty of veteran (and a few staff) faces, FC St. Pauli Atlanta left little doubt that they were D3's best squad. After a Week 2 regular season loss, the team went on a perfect 7-game run, winning all remaining matches, including a 5-0 championship win over @goti_fc. We'll put D2 teams for next season on notice, because this crew managed to amass a Thursday-best +40 goal differential and a ridiculous 5 clean sheets. Shoutout to team captain and field manager @zer0724 for the silverware, and good luck in D2!

Trial By Fire entered this season, their 10th, with zero playoff wins in team history and an all-time best record of 3-4-1 😬 A hot start to the season saw the squad match that win total in just the first 3 weeks, and ultimately earn a trip to the post season with a 5-2-0 regular season record. Playoff wins over Decatur City and @mannys.fc give this team a new claim to flame, and they are taking home league silverware for the very first time! This one was truly for the underdogs out there, as Trial By Fire were the only team that wasn't a top seed to win their division. Congrats y'all, and good luck next season!

Here's a fun stat: @netsixandchill_atl featured TWO winning squads on Twosday's championship night, which had only happened twice before in SOPFC history (we see you Spring '23 @justiceleague 👀). The top-seeded coed team won their 2nd coed trophy in a row in convincing fashion, and helped make the Net Six Conglomerate® the only team to win two trophies on the same night, on two different occasions. This specific win was in the early slot, so for about an hour they had exactly 22 trophies. Sensing a theme? Us two.

It was a good night for the @netsixandchill_atl crew. As Tuesday's only undefeated team with an 8-0-1 record, the eventual D1 champ beat rivals @atlantarocketfc in a semifinal match last week that came down to a shootout. 50 minutes, 3 goals, and a clean sheet later, the league leaders captured their 2nd trophy of this week’s finals night, and 23rd overall! Shoutout to co-finalists @belcalciofc who finished 2nd in the table in their debut D1 season and will almost certainly be in this game again soon.

We last saw Real Sosobad exactly 2 years ago when they joined our first season back from the pandemic break! A solid effort in their rookie campaign got them to 3-4-1 overall, but they missed playoffs as a 6 seed. 2023's squad did not mess around, and beat league vets @ftkunited in a comfortable 5-2 win on route to a division best 8-1-0 record and the D2 crown 👑 We'd prefer to see you all more often, so instead of the 2-year hiatus, we'll credit the rise in form to being not sosobad after all. Congrats on the win, and don't be a stranger this time around!

OYEAYER! Big Boi FC had advanced to the D3 finals in their last two seasons, both times as 1 seeds and both times upset in close losses. Despite another tight 9th game, top-seeded Big Boi came out on top, beating Club Foot 1-0 to earn their first trophy! They say defense wins championships, and it was certainly on display here. Big Boi led all Tuesday teams with only 5 goals allowed all season, and an insane 6 clean sheets through 9 matches 🧼 Nice job on the promotion, y'all, and see you next season!

Sunday's top division has a new champ! Mitch Don't Kill My Vibe win their first trophy in the team's 4-season history, and not without a few upsets along the way. Showing why every point matters, the Sunday squad struggled with a 1-3-1 record in their last 5 regular season matches, but managed to make the playoffs as the 4 seed. After taking down #1 in the semis, MDKMV beat @_cityboysfc, who themselves were finalists for the 7th season in a row. We love an underdog, nice job Mitch!
After 11 seasons over nearly 4 years, @brewhousefc is Sunday Open's most veteran team. Before this season, the team only found themselves in the playoffs 4 times, and had never won a semifinal match. This one went differently though, and a not-so-Little 5-point blanking of La Mercy means Brewhouse gets their first taste of silverware! Saturday Coed featured 3 divisions for the first time in SOPFC history, so it's fitting the division crown went to a first-time squad! “Football Club FC” are the Coed Division Champions of the Spring ‘23 season, after defeating “911” 5-0
“Football Club FC” came into the playoffs as the heavy favorites to take home the title. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. The championship started off very evenly matched, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. “Football Club FC” started to turn up the heat midway through the first half, and was able to score an impressive goal to take the lead. “911” kept applying pressure to “Football Club FC’s” defense, but “Football Club FC” stayed strong on the defensive end all game long. “Football Club FC” played a very well rounded game scoring 5 goals on offense and not allowing “911” to score the entire game. “Football Club FC” proved that they are the team to beat and won the championship 5-0!

“Practice Squad” are the Open Division Champions of the Spring ‘23 season, after defeating “New World Order FC” 4-1!
“Practice Squad” came into the playoffs as one of the favorites to take home the title. Their incredible offense is why they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their impressive defense and amazing teamwork was the reason why they made it to the finals. The championship started off very evenly matched, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. Everything changed when “Practice Squad” scored an unbelievable goal midway through the first half. “New World Order FC” kept applying pressure to “Practice Squad’s” defense, but “Practice Squad” stayed strong and did not allow them to score in the first half. The second half started off as a defensive battle, but “New World Order FC” was able to score a goal of their own to tie it up. It looked like the championship was up for grabs, but “Practice Squad” turned up the heat and scored three more goals to take a commanding 4-1 lead. “New World Order FC” played their hearts out, but “Practice Squad” was too hot to handle!

In their 4th finals matchup, HJ's Scumbags and Atlanta Beasts showed again why they continue to find themselves in D1's championship game. A 1-1 fulltime score meant the game had to be settled with spot kicks, where the Scumbags managed a narrow 4-3 win to take home their 5th title as a team! We'll skip the route of exploring the etymology of the squad's namesake, and just point out this latest 9-0-0 season is part of a ridiculous 24-1-2 record in their last 3 seasons, making them favorites to finish on top again next season.

OSO FC made a strong league debut 2 seasons ago, and topped the division table before falling in the final and missing promotion. An 8-0-1 undefeated record meant the top seed was theirs again last season, and this time the division title was too! A 2-0 win over The Mighty Slugs capped off a trophy-winning season where OSO conceded just 5 goals over the entire season, less than half the next-best number in their division. Top flight footy for the team next season, and chances of them staying up are oh, so good.

The Open D1 finale featured two of SOPFC's best teams in @netsixandchill_atl
and the crew from @apres_diem. And while the one-sided regular season matchup was a 4-nil win for Aprés, the final was a much closer 2-1 win over Net Six that gives the group its second trophy in its 14-season history. An 8-0-1 record through the season also marks the team's first undefeated season, which is no surprise given how strong this division has been for a long time. Aprés Dìem and Net Six have split D1's last 4 finals evenly with 2 each, so next season's race for 3 should be a fun one 👀
Open's D2 final saw two teams in their first SOPFC seasons reach the title match, where @pollos_locosfc and D.C. Force played to a 1-1 draw through full time. Y'all know SOPFC PKs are hardly automatic, and the championship lights at Walden make them that much tougher. Ultimately, it was D.C. Force who was better from the spot, and are Monday's ONLY 4 seed to be crowned division champs. Congrats to both teams on impressive debut seasons, and best of luck in the Summer session!

Monday Coed's D4 was the only division that did not see the high-seed win it all, and was also the only one to feature a team winning it in their debut season! After losing their first two matches, both in one-goal games, Fusion FC ran the table and closed out the regular season with 5 wins and a 2nd place regular season finish. That streak was extended to 7 with wins in the semis and the finals, giving them their first trophy and a place in D3 next season.

“Jalapeño Business” are the Division 2 Soccer Champions of the Spring 23’ season, after defeating “Jr. Flamingos” 7-2!
“Jalapeño Business” entered the playoffs as the second seed in their division and one of the favorites to win the championship, but they had to defeat a very formidable “Jr. Flamingos” team before they could be crowned the champions. The match started out very competitive with neither team being able to pull away from the other. “Jr Flamingos” went up first but “Jalapeño Business” came right back and tied it at 1-1. Both teams scored one more time and It looked like the first half was going to end as a tie, until “Jr. Flamingos” fouled a “Jalapeño Business” player in the box and gave them a penalty kick right before the end of the half. The player on “Jalapeño Business” made the PK and gave them a 3-2 lead going into halftime. “The Degenerates” are the Division 3 Soccer Champions of the Spring 23’ season, after defeating “Jacks FC” 6-5!
It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night and it didn’t disappoint. “The Degenerates” took on “Jacks FC” in the championship and it was a match to remember. “The Degenerates opened up the game with a three goal lead and controlled most of the match. “The Degenerates” looked like they would walk away as the champions, but “Jack FC” wasn’t going down without a fight. In the second half “Jacks FC” battled back and was able to tie the game at the very end of the second half, which meant penalty kicks would decide who takes home the title. Both teams missed the first PK, made the next two, and missed the 4th. “Jacks FC” missed their 5th PK and it came down to the 5th PK for “The Degenerates”. “The Degenerates” stepped up and scored the game winning PK and finished the season as the champions of Division 3 soccer!
Congratulations to “The Degenerates” on becoming the Division 3 Soccer Champions and winner!
The Women/Non-Binary trophy match was the only one of the night that featured a division's top seed, and both teams came into the game with 7 wins and a regular season tie against each other. But it was a tough night for #1s, and @afcmarta nabs their 3rd trophy in 4 seasons! @bcsbfc gave them a tough game in their 6th final, and the 2-1 win was Wednesday's 3rd game of the night that was decided by just one goal. The win also means AFC Marta is WNB's second-ever repeat winner, and they'll try to engineer a threeepeat next season!

A 3-0-4 regular season record was good enough for a 3 seed in the latest version of Wednesday Open's top division, and newly-named Sporting ATL put the league on notice. A semifinal win against reigning champs Pink Pony Lunch Shift meant they'd face top-seeded Los Cabrazos in the title match, who themselves made their 3rd finals appearance in a row. That was followed by a 4 goal performance that handed Cabrazos their only loss of the season, and Sporting's 1st trophy in 5 seasons! D1 hasn't had a repeat winner in 6 seasons, but we like Sporting's chances in the next one.

As the 4 seed, they gave D2 a cupset and beat previous trophy winners @ultratlantafc and @netsixandchill_atl to bring home their first team trophy! A special congrats to league ref @elijah.marcelin, succeeding on and off the field and on both sides of the whistle.

D3 was very competitive all season, and that stayed true in the playoffs. Eventual finalists @nations_fc and @roundtripfc bon won their semi final matches over higher seeds, and both won by only a single goal. Their finals matchup was a rematch from 6 seasons ago, and this time it went to League Of Nations, who again won by a single goal. It's the squad's second trophy in team history, which is a long one - captain @Uzi37 has led the squad for 10 of their 28 seasons with SOPFC, and we're lucky to have 'em! A 3-0 win in the finals, bringing their total to 33 goals scored on the season, in a threepeat campaign? A bit too on the nose for @justice_league_fc. It was a busy week for all things Rockets, but Atlanta's was a bit better in avoiding an explosion...err, "rapid unscheduled disassembly." In a rematch of last season's championship, Atlanta Rocket most definitely did not "fall short of its most ambitious goals," and a clean sheet over a strong Net Six and Chill team gave Open D1's top seed their 4th trophy in a row and their 6th in team history. We said we'd see you soon, and a mere 4 days after their 19th championship, @netsixandchill_atl nab their 20th trophy in club history! It's also a 2nd Monday Open win in a row, going an impressive 8-1-0 and scoring a whopping 42 goals over 9 matches. The coaches from @iafc_blues and 161 FC put up a challenge in the final, but ultimately this squad was just a bit Too Hot To Handle. Are they a Perfect Match for a threepeat next season? Stay tuned...
With 11 seasons and 4 finals under their belts, New Kicks on the Block is a bit more familiar than their name suggests. Step By Step, captain @chelmannn has managed to put together one of Monday's strongest squads, and has now led them to their first undefeated season AND trophy in team history! A 4-0 championship win over Atlanta Beasts tells us they brought their shootin' boots to this one, and also had one heck of a defensive Wahl. If you're a Free Agent and interested in trying to form a team of future champs yourself, check out our upcoming Teamup Night (sopfc.com/teamup). Congrats New Kicks, and thanks for the continued support!

In Monday's closest final of the night, The Iron Throw-In won a close one over top-seeded OSO FC in a shootout after a 2-2 regulation finish. They've been Hounding for a title for quite some time, and have now captured their first trophy since 2019! This one means they'll join sister @goti_fc teams Game of Throw-Ins and Kings of the Mountain in D1 next season, and you can definitely expect those inter-squad matchups to be epic battles. Congrats on the win, and good luck in D1!

They say the first one is always the sweetest, and on a night when several veteran teams found themselves lifting cups, Nutmeg Manifesto finished their 1st season in 1st place, scoring 11 goals in the playoffs while conceding 0 to win their 1st trophy. The regular season campaign has plenty of class, too, and with only 1 loss on the season and a promotion to D2, what else can be said but top Marx all around! Thanks for joining the club, and see you next season!

“Team Iceland” are the Division 1 Champions of the Winter ‘23 season, after defeating “Benchwarmers” 2-0!
The finals were set and both of the top two teams in the division were ready to see who would be crowned the champions of Division 1 soccer. The 1 seed, “Team Iceland”, and the 2 seed, “Benchwarmers”, faced off in a very competitive championship game. The game started off evenly matched, but “Team Iceland” found their groove and scored two impressive goals before the end of the first half. “Benchwarmers” came out determined in the second half and kept putting pressure on “Team Iceland’s” defense, but “Team Iceland” stayed strong on the defensive end and did not allow them to score. “Benchwarmers” played their hearts out, but “Team Iceland” could not be stopped!
Congratulations to “Team Iceland” on becoming the Division 1 Soccer Champions of the Winter ‘23 season!
“Anti Football Football Club” are the Division 2 Soccer Champions of the Winter ‘23 season, after defeating “Jalisco FC” 5-1!
“Anti Football Football Club” came into the playoffs as one of the favorites to take home the title. Their incredible offense is why they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their impressive defense and amazing teamwork was the reason why they made it to the finals. The championship started off very evenly matched, with neither team being able to pull away from the other. But everything changed when the “Anti Football Football Club” scored two unbelievable goals midway through the first half. “Jalisco FC” kept applying pressure to “Anti Football Football Club’s” defense, but “Anti Football Football Club” stayed strong and did not allow them to score in the first half. The second half started off as a defensive battle, but “Jalisco FC” was able to score a goal of their own to tie it up. It looked like the championship was up for grabs, but “Anti Football Football Club” turned up the heat and scored three more goals to take a commanding 5-1 lead. “Jalisco FC” played their hearts out, but “Anti Football Football Club” was just too hot to handle!
Congratulations to “Anti Football Football Club” on becoming the Sunday Soccer Champions of the Winter ‘23 season!
“Jacks FC” are the Division 3 Champions of the Spring ‘22 season, after defeating “Jr. Flamingos” 4-2!
It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night, and it did not disappoint! “Jacks FC” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with an impressive goal, but “Jr. Flamingos” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and tied the game up at 1-1. Both teams played their hearts out in the first half, and neither of them were backing down from one another. “Jacks FC” came out of halftime determined to score, and that's exactly what they did. “Jacks FC” scored another immaculate goal at the start of the second half and took an early 2-1 lead. “Jr. Flamingos” offense came alive right after “Jacks FC” scored, and continued to apply pressure to “Jacks FC’s” defense. “Jr. Flamingos” scored a goal to tie it up at 2-2 in the second half. It looked like the “Jr. Flamingos” were going to be crowned the champions, but “Jacks FC” had other ideas. “Jacks FC” were able to score two more goals late in the second half to take the lead, and they never looked back from there!
Congratulations to “Jacks FC” on becoming the Division 3 Champions Winter ‘23 season!
Look up!
It's a bird!
It's a plane!
It's a spy balloon!
It's... @atlantarocketfc! This group is absolutely SOARING lately, and after 8 seasons has entered the chat as one of the league's top teams. Tuesday's cup final victory over Net Six and Chill (more on them later) not only means they've accomplished a threeepeat, but also gives them 4 'ships in the last 5 seasons, and 5 total in team history. Tuesday's top flight has always been one of the most competitive leagues SOPFC offers, so to have this kind of success
Hard to believe it, but @mannys.fc hasn't been back to the Over-40 finals since the Fall of '21, a whole 7 seasons ago! This season was a tight one for the O-40s, with no teams having more than 4 regular season wins, and both of last season's finalists missing the playoffs entirely. A 5-0 blanking of Dad's Night Out in the semis, followed by a 2-1 win over 5-time champs Has-Beens earns Manny's their first ever trophy in The Old Folks division, and a 5th trophy overall to be displayed at @mannysgrantpark. See y'all next season!

While most championship posts for @netsixandchill_atl feel a bit evergreen, this latest title was definitely unique! Despite playing Coed ball in all of the squad's previous seasons, N6 Elite moved to Open league for the Winter season and... well, this is the evergreen part: the 3 seed took down both top seeds in their post-season matches to win the club's NINETEENTH trophy, which still tops the SOPFC record books for those keeping score at home. No other Coed team moving to an Open league has ever won their division, and if any squad was going to do it, it was always going to be this one. Nice job y'all, we're sure we'll see you soon for #20!
“Dragons” are the Thursday Soccer Champions of the Winter ‘23 season, after defeating “The Avengers” 6-5!
It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night, and it did not disappoint! “Dragons” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with an impressive goal, but “The Avengers” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and tied it up at 1-1. Both teams played their hearts out and scored two goals in the first half, and neither of them were backing down from one another. “Dragons” came out of halftime determined to score, and that's exactly what they did. “Dragons” scored another immaculate goal at the start of the second half and took an early 3-2 lead. “The Avengers” offense came alive right after “Dragons” scored, and continued to apply pressure to the “Dragons” defense. “The Avengers” scored two goals to go up 4-3 in the second half. It looked like the “The Avengers” were going to be crowned the champions, but “Dragons” had other ideas. They were able to score two more goals late in the second half to take the lead, and then they added one more right before the end of the game to ensure their victory in the championship. “The Avengers” kept it competitive, but “Dragons’s” offense proved to be too much for any team to handle!
Congratulations to “Dragons” on becoming the Thursday Soccer Champions!
The Over-30s have had only 3 different title holders in the last 8 seasons, and recent finalists and usual suspects @reynoldstownfc won 3 of those. Not So Old New Boys clearly intended to change that, and after an undefeated season, can call themselves the newest champs of their division! A quick look at the end-of-season table shows that defense was TOUGH this season, and the squad managed to concede only six goals through 9 matches, all while posting six clean sheets! 🧼 Congrats to the @oldnewboysfc family, and good luck next season!

Repeat Champs! @justice_league_fc spent their first 3 D1 seasons reaching the finals but not being quite able to get their hands on the division's top prize. Now in their 6th season, they are Thursday Coed's FIRST EVER back-to-back champs, and snag their 3rd trophy overall with SOPFC! That's 6 finals in 7 seasons for one of Thursday's best, and they are just outside the top 10 in SOPFC history with that mark. Have to shoutout top-seeded @hungry.hungry.hippogriffs alos, who put up a solid effort in their second finals appearance in as many seasons. Thanks for another great season, and good luck going for the threepeat!
D2's final was a fun one that featured both of the lower seeds, and saw a combined 9 goals from EY and @threatlevelmidnightfc! A regular season matchup between the two ended in a close 2-1 win for EY, but Threat Level Midnight avenged that loss in the championship rematch with a 5-4 win. That's the team's first trophy in their 6 season history with the club, and they'll be playing D1 footie for the first time next season! Congrats on the hardware, y'all!

Sometimes, you just gotta try something new. In their 2nd season since a rebrand, @sceptrebrewingartsfc (formerly 5 Hunnid FC) found themselves in their second final in a row, a rematch against three-time reigning champs @castleberryhillac. Sunday's got new champs now though, and with a 4-2 win Sceptre capture the first trophy in the history of the team, including the pre-rebrand era 😉. Rumor is @_latinheat did his best Emi Martinez impression both while playing and post-game 🏆

Bobbay's Jorts played their first game with SOPFC on January 19th, 2019. Last Saturday, nearly 4 years to the date, the Jorts captured their TENTH Saturday trophy and are tied for second most titles in league history! In a normally tight Saturday top flight, the champs were the only team to grab more than four wins, and led the league with 31 goals scored across 9 matches. Now the only thing left to do is to catch @netsixandchill_atl! Congrats on another one, and even though you probably don[t need it, best of luck on going for 11!

Saturday saw one long-time team capture their 10th trophy, and another capture their first! Hangover 96 started with us way back in 2018, and in their 5th year and 15th season with SOPFC, they're bringing home the team's first hardware. A 1-0 win in both the semis and the finals means promotion, and the rest of D1 will be introduced to a new team next season. We wouldn't count these top division-debutants out for staying up either, they're league vets after all! Congrats y'all, and thanks for the support over the years!

“Old Man United” are the Friday Open Division Champions of the Fall ‘22 Season, after defeating “Best Ham Sandwiches” 1-0!
“Old Man United” entered the championship as the #1 seed and as the heavy favorite to take home the championship. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division, but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. “Best Ham Sandwiches” offense was firing on all cylinders in the first half and gave the goalkeeper on “Old Man United” a workout, but “Best Ham Sandwiches” was unable to find the back of the net. It was an amazing defensive battle for most of the game, but “Old Man United’s” offense kept peppering the “Best Ham Sandwiches” keeper and was finally able to put one past him. “Best Ham Sandwiches” played a very well rounded game, but “Old Man United” was a machine that could not be stopped on Friday. “Old Man United” was able to hold off the “Best Ham Sandwiches” powerful offense and won the Championship 1-0!
Congratulations to “Old Man United” on becoming the Friday Open Division Champions!
“Hidden Leaf FC” are the Friday Soccer Champions of the Late Fall ‘22 season, after defeating “Longshots” 4-3!
It was the playoffs for Friday soccer last week, and it did not disappoint! “Hidden Leaf FC” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with an impressive goal, but “Longshots” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and tied the game up at 1-1. Both teams played their hearts out and scored two goals in the first half, and neither of them were backing down from one another. “Hidden Leaf FC” came out of halftime determined to score, and that's exactly what they did. “Hidden Leaf FC” scored another immaculate goal at the start of the second half and took an early 3-2 lead. “Longshots” offense came alive right after “Hidden Leaf FC” scored, and continued to apply pressure to “Hidden Leaf FC’s” defense. “Longshots” were able to score another goal to tie it up at 3-3 in the second half. It looked like the “Longshots” were going to be crowned the champions, but “Hidden Leaf FC” had other ideas. “Hidden Leaf FC” was able to score one last goal late in the second half to take the lead, and they never looked back from there!
Congratulations to “Hidden Leaf FC” on becoming the Friday Soccer Champions!
"Flamigos" played their hearts out in their Semifinal matchup against "Attack of the Shinsplints" and won that game 1-0 to advance to the championship game to face the "Hot Shots"! The "Flamigos" ended up winning the championship due to a forfeit. Congratulations to the "Flamigos" on becoming the Division 2 champions!
