Wednesday night vets RealSocialDads have been playing in the Open league for more than 3 years and 16 seasons, and can FINALLY call themselves champs after a 2-1 win over OneTouchables in the D3 final! @ultratlantafc, another team that's been around for a while, is no stranger to Finals night. D2's 3 seed capped off their final Wednesday Open season with a win over top seed White Lines & Grass, earning a 6th trophy in team history. They'll opt for a change of scenery and head to Over-30 on Thursday nights, and we won't be surprised if those winning ways continue there!

WNB gave us the goods with not one, but TWO PK shootouts and opportunity to call game in their final matches. D1's final saw @hotlanta_phoenixaccomplished something against @bcsbfc no other team had managed to do in the previous 8 weeks - score a goal. A 1-1 stalemate at full time meant spot kicks, and for a second time in 3 seasons, @hotlanta_phoenix are D1 champs!

D2 was equally close, and played to the exact same scoreline at the end of 50 minutes. 1 seed and WNB OGs @miahammered gave coach @_cautious1 team a tough match, but Pitch Perfect (@_pitchdontkillmyvibe_) went a perfect 4-4 in penalties to seal the dub and the D2 title!

Welcome to Atlanta, where the players play...Open league footy at Walden on Sundays? We'll stay in our lane and leave the rhyming to @jermainedupri.
Play YAHs club got their first taste of league hardware last season, and CLEARLY had an appetite for more. Co-finalists @metroatlantasc went on quite a run to get to the championship match, but were stymied by Play YAHS comfortable 3-0 dub. The now two-time champs were nearly perfect with an 8-0-1 undefeated record, and shipped less than a goal a game, conceding ONLY 8 on the season! Congrats to our Sunday squadrons, see you next season!
It was a third D1 final in as many seasons for @cleatsandcleavagefc, and a narrow win over Mighty Slugs gives them the first repeat title in over a year. If 2 cups in a row weren't enough, they accomplished the seemingly skimpossible and netted 52 goals over their 9 matches, busting the previous record of 41 up pretty good! On top of all that, the 9-0-0 record was Saturday's only unblemished one, a performance that would surely make @micahrichards proud.

Second Division's final also hosted a repeat finalist in Grass Kickers, and after just narrowly losing last season, the Turf Tusslers are back on top with their 2nd league trophy! The season may not have gotten off to the best start with a loss and tie in the opening weeks, but 7 wins in a row will fix that real quick. The surface squabblers will take their D2 title and assault on agriculture to the top flight next season, and we wish them all the best!

It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night and it did not disappoint! “Uptick in Lost Balls” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with two impressive goals, but “A&K” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and kept the game close. Both teams played their hearts out in the first half and neither of them were backing down from one another. “Uptick in Lost Balls” came out determined to score in the second half and that's exactly what they did. “Uptick in Lost Balls” scored two immaculate goals at the start of the second half and took an early 4-1 lead. It looked like “Uptick in Lost Balls” were going to be crowned the champions but “A&K” had other ideas. “A&K” started to dominate the game after “Uptick in Lost Balls” scored and continued to apply pressure to “Uptick in Lost Balls’s” defense. “A&K” scored a goal late in the second half to keep their championship dreams alive, and then one of their players scored an insane header from a phenomenal pass from one of their teammates to make it 4-3. “A&K” had one final attempt to tie it up when their captain broke free and had a one on one with the keeper, but he missed the goal by inches. The championship was still up for grabs in the final two minutes of the game until “Uptick in Lost Balls” scored one last goal at the very end and ended “A&K” hopes and dreams of making a miraculous comeback. “Uptick in Lost Balls” went on to win the game 5-4 and became the Division 2 Champions!

in D1, the only 2 squads to manage more than 3 wins on the season were @loscolegas_fc and @pibescdf, and while the regular season matchup was a 5-1 win for Colegas, Pibes won a much closer championship rematch by a score of 3-2.

The invincibles at @interchambleecf made one heck of a first impression as Sunday’s only undefeated team with a PERFECT 9-0-0 record! 5 of their 9 matches, including both postseason games, were decided by a single goal, and to end up on the right side of all those matches tells us D1 will be adding some serious tacticatins next season after ICCF is promoted.

In the premier Coed match of the night, a back and forth D1 game between @mannys.fc and @fcstpauli_atlanta was decided on a last second goal, and after 50 minutes Pauli wins the D1 title with a 3-2 win. Special shoutout to captain and longtime player @michaelconinx, and best of luck with the move - we’ll miss ya!

Coed’s second division gave us our most lopsided final, and Team Name will be headed to (and almost certainly staying in) D1 next season after an 8-1 win in their trophy match! The team scored 37 goals in their first season with the league, the highest mark of any Tuesday squad.

@bubblebuttfc has always featured some league legends, but in their two previous trips to the finals, trophies eluded them. This season they only got into the playoffs as a 4 seed, but a cheeky little 4-0 win in the finals earned this group their first trophy as well!

It was a little strange seeing @netsixandchill_atl finish the regular season as the 3 seed, but to no one’s surprise, they reached their 2nd final in a row and 4th in the last 6 seasons, this time matched up against Pura Vida Lawn. @wedginho and co. may have gotten the better of N6 in the regular season, but the now-35-time champs always bring their best stuff on championship night, and are repeat D1 winners!

They’re cooking with grease now! After coming waffly close to winning division titles in the last two seasons, WHFC smothered the competition as Open’s only undefeated squad, and are now D2 champs! It’s the first time @wafflehousefc.atl got their hands on this particular set of silverware, and if you’re wondering if they’ll fare well in D1, you batter believe it! Congrats on finally getting that elusive trophy, and best of luck in the top flight!

Despite being maybe just a bit too green in their first season with a 1-4-3 record, Smoking Grass FC had high expectations heading into the Spring. To be blunt, those expectations were met: a 6-1-0 regular season record was the top mark in D3, and the top seed broke the grass ceiling with a tree-zero win in the finals! The division crown means they’re getting bumped up, but don’t count on them being a tokin’ figure in D2 next season.

Despite some familiar faces in our D1 final, we saw history made in WNB this season, and at the risk of underestimating our Hotlanta friends, maybe even a little bit of a cupset! For the third time in a row, @bcsbfc and @hotlanta_phoenix squared off in week 9, and though the Bras had taken the first two, Phoenix came out on top in a 2-1 win, and are the third team to ever win WNB’s D1 title! Hotlanta was the only team to take any points at all from the 7-time champs this season, and by getting all 6 points they handed the Bras their first losses since November of last year 🤯 Nice job y’all!

It was a VERY good night for Hotlanta, and a D2 win for @hotlanta_valkyrie meant the WNB Founding Members got the double! Over-40’s final was a fun combination of old and new, and while reigning champs Has-Beens are no stranger to trophy matches, it was Dads’ Night Out who took home the top prize this season, their first in team history! 16-season vets in DNO were definitely familiar with Has-Beens, but prior to the championship match only managed a 3-21 all-time record against Over-40s winningest team, who themselves were in their 15th season. The Dads saved their best games for last, posting their only two clean sheets on the season in their playoff matches on the way to becoming Over-40’s 4th-ever league champ. Congrats on the first one, and see you next season!

League goliaths @netsixandchill_atl are at it again with their Tue Coed squad, and it might just be the most dominant of their 5 current teams. N6 Elite were Tuesday night’s only undefeated team with an 8-0-1 record, and led all teams—Coed, Open, and Over-40–with 46 goals scored! The latest win is the team’s 4th in a row, and they have yet to lose a final in 2024, going a ridiculous 33-2-1 in that time. With one season left in the calendar year and the league growing from 6 to 9 teams, we’ll be keeping an eye on the 5-peat campaign effort. Nice win (again), and thanks for supporting our club!

📣📣📣 REPEAT WINNERS 📣📣📣 They might be one of Tuesday Open’s newest teams, but in only their 5th season with SOPFC, Hammond Yanited made it to a 4th final in team history, and nabbed their 2nd trophy in as many seasons. After starting the regular season with 5 wins in a row, the group suffered losses in weeks 6 and 7 (their first since April!), and fell to the 2 seed heading into playoffs. It was the playoffs for Sunday soccer last night and it did not disappoint! “Light The Beam” came out on fire in the championship and took an early lead with two impressive goals, but “Los Zorros” came right back and scored an amazing goal of their own and kept the game close. Both teams played their hearts out in the first half and neither of them were backing down from one another. “Light The Beam” came out determined to score in the second half and that's exactly what they did. “Light The Beam” scored two immaculate goals at the start of the second half and took an early 4-1 lead. It looked like “Light the Beam” were going to be crowned the champions but “Los Zorros” had other ideas. “Los Zorros” started to dominate the game after “Light The Beam” scored and continued to apply pressure to “Light The Beam’s” defense. “Los Zorros” scored a PK late in the second half to keep their championship dreams alive, and then one of their players scored an insane header from a phenomenal pass from one of their teammates to make it 4-3. “Los Zorros” had one final attempt to tie it up when their captain broke free and had a one on one with the keeper, but he missed the goal by inches. The championship was still up for grabs in the final two minutes of the game until “Light the Beam” scored one last goal at the very end and ended “Los Zorros” hopes and dreams of making a miraculous comeback. “Light the Beam” went on to win the game 5-3 and became the Division 3 Champions!
Congratulations to “Light The Beam” on becoming the Division 3 Champions of the Summer ‘24 Season!
D1’s title game was a rematch of last season’s, and is quickly becoming one of our favorite matchups in the league. Coed vets Scumbags and reigning champs Atlanta Beasts have faced off 5 times in the last 2 seasons: 4 games decided by a single goal, and a draw. The Beasts are just about the only team to have figured out Scumbags though, and are 4-0-1 in those matches, including the last 2 championship finals 🤯 The repeat champs will go for 3 D1 trophies in a row next season, and it may just be the first time they do so as the favorite 👀

Team name changes don’t always bring wins, but if you’re a squad in need of dubs, it might be worth a shot! We don’t want to ruffle any feathers here, but D1 winners @polloslocosfc might just be one of the best teams across all SOPFC leagues 👀 The already reigning champs displayed their hendurance by grabbing their 2nd trophy in as many seasons in a repeat effort, and in a team first, went undefeated with an 8-0-1 record! The team’s worst performance came in a week 1 2-2 draw, but they followed it up by rattling off 8 straight wins en route to their trophy win! D2’s champs boasted the best defense in the Open league by conceding only 9 goals, and as 1 of 2 undefeated teams on the night, a name change just might be in order. Both Sunday championships featured each divisions' top 2 seeds, and while that would normally be enough hype going into a trophy match, D1's final pitted the two most veteran squads against each other in a rematch of the Spring 2023 final! @brewhousefc and @la_.mercy have been with us since 2015 and 2017 respectively, and in the years since, share a 4-4-1 all-time record against each other! A win in this season's title match will put the record in La Mercy's favor, and earns trophy number 2 for ClemenCF! For almost 5 years now, Saturday D1 squads have been faced with the almost impossible task of getting by @bobbayyysjorts if they wanted to win the division title. In the 20 (!!!) seasons they’ve played in our weekend AM league, the Jorts reached the finals 19 teams, and were trophy winners in 16 of those! Despite all that winning, this latest one was unique, and gave the Jorts their very first back-to-back-to-back-to-back trophy win, becoming only the 9th team in SOPFC history to win 4 or more championships in a row! We were told the Jorts would be taking a break after 20 seasons, and we can’t thank them enough for their support over the years. We’ll certainly miss you on Saturday mornings, just can’t speak for the rest of D1 😉

Championship night always has a bit of Prime time feel to it, and when @netsixandchill_atl is playing, we’ve come to expect Showtime. A finals win over @tea_and_busquets_atl meant N6 Maxed out their win column with a perfect 9-0-0 record on the season, and only a couple of matches were remotely close in that time. In fact, the 3-1 win in week 9 was the closest game of the season, and their average margin of victory in the 8 games before was nearly 5 goals! Tuesday’s finals were kind to the 1 seeds this time around, with 4 of the 5 championships on the night won by teams who were top of table at the end of the regular season. Open’s D2 was the only division to buck the trend, and we were treated to a good ole fashioned cupset with 4 seed Fodder United taking the crown! The same group fell in the semis as the 4 seed last season, but redemptive arcs were something of a theme in the Open division this time around, and Fodder capture their 2nd trophy in just 3 seasons. A decent introductory last season for Immigrants United saw them finish above .500, but just shy of the top 4 and a chance for a division championship. Despite a week 1 loss in their sophomore effort this go round, Immigrants United were a clearly improved side, scoring a division-leading 37 goals and going undefeated in their final 6 regular season matches en route to D3’s pole position and a playoff debut. The latest win gives N6 Premier 3 trophies in the last 5 Wed Open seasons, and bragging rights after winning it back from sister team and last season’s champs in N6 Alpha. Kudos to the A-Streamers, see you next season!

Only one Open team finished the season with a goose egg in the loss column, so it’s fitting they were 1 of our 3 winners on the night 🥚 A clutch team performance that included some absolute bangers from @bennyhin07 and @pupslush gave @ultratlantafc a 2-1 win over worthy finalists Clan na nGael, and have them headed back to D1 for the first time in nearly a year. That’s trophy number 3 AND a spot on the Champions Wall for the club headed by @adanali_naci, and we predict it won’t be long at all before they get some more 🔮 Congrats on the win, and best of luck in D1!

D3 was perhaps the most competitive of the Wed night divisions this season, and going into the final week of the regular season 3 of 4 playoff spots were up for grabs, and 6 of 8 teams had a chance to get one! New team Ya Mon!, who led all Open teams with 30 goals scored, had already put together a good enough record to punch their post-season ticket, and at season’s end were first in the table. The top-seeded debutants were a tough side anyway, but they shut the door on any opposing chances by posting a clean sheet in both playoff games to secure the D3 trophy. Well done on nabbing your first, see you in D2!

Bra-ught to you straight from the department of the redundancy department, @bcsbfc win WNB’s top division again! It’s now 3-in-a-row (for the 2nd time!), and their 7th trophy overall, which takes the lone spot for most in WNB history! Co-finalists @hotlanta_phoenix made it to the championship game for the 3rd straight season, and despite the disappointment of failing to grab their first D1 trophy, their season was hardly a bust. The 2-1 scoreline for Phoenix is the closest they’ve played the Bras in any of the last 3 cup matches, and they’re making sure WNBs newest derby is getting more and more competitive each season. Bra-vo to both squads, see you next season!

We were pumped to see Atkins FC back in the Wednesday night league after a couple of seasons off, and the R&R was just what they needed. If their return to WNB was a bit of a cake walk, it’s because playing tough defense is their bread and butter. Atkins NEVER conceded more than a single goal in any game all season, and were D2’s only undefeated squad with a 7-0-2 overall record. The win over @jurisdoctorfc in the division final gives Atkins their second trophy in team history and a spot back in D1, and we’re betting their days in the lower division are toast. Congrats on the trophy and promotion, and best of luck in the top flight next season!

“Crew FC” are the Uptown Soccer Champions of the Spring ‘24 season, after defeating “Benchwarmers” 5-0!
“Crew FC” came into the playoffs as the heavy favorite to take home the title. Their offense was the main reason they finished as one of the top teams in their division but their real MVP during the championship was their defense. The championship started off evenly matched with neither team being able to pull away from the other. “Crew FC” started to turn up the heat midway through the first half and was able to score an impressive goal to take the lead. “Benchwarmers” kept applying pressure to “Crew FC’s” defense but “Crew FC” stayed strong on the defensive end all game long. “Crew FC” played a very well rounded game scoring 5 goals on offense and not allowing “Benchwarmers” to score the entire game. “Crew FC” proved that they are still the team to beat and won the championship 5-0!
Congratulations to “Crew FC” on becoming the Sunday Uptown Soccer Champions for the 4th season in a row! We look forward to seeing if they can win it again next season!
“Vietnam FC” are the Downtown Champions of the Spring ‘24 season, after defeating “Unusual Hiatus” 6-2!
The finals were set and the top two teams in the division were ready to see who would be crowned the champions of our Uptown soccer division. The 1 seed, “Vietnam FC”, and the 3 seed, “Unusual Hiatus”, faced off in a very competitive championship game. The game started off evenly matched but “Vietnam FC” found their groove and scored two impressive goals before the end of the first half. “Unusual Hiatus” came out determined in the second half and kept applying pressure to “Vietnam FC’s” defense but “Vietnam FC” stayed strong on the defensive end all game long. “Unusual Hiatus" were finally able to break through “Vietnam FC’s” defense and score a couple goals of their own but “Unusual Hiatus” defense could not stop “Vietnam FC’s” impressive offense. “Vietnam FC” scored a few more goals towards the end of the second half and they never looked back from there. “Unusual Hiatus” played their hearts out but “Jalisco FC” could not be stopped!
Congratulations to “Vietnam FC” on becoming the Downtown Soccer Champions!
Hardly a one-chick pony, @pollos_locosfc found themselves making the D1 finals for the second season in a row, and this time around were just a bit more peckish for a trophy 🐔 A strong side led by league ref and captain @juandiriley got into the playoffs as a 2 seed, and eggspectations were more than met for this group: GK union member @_latinheat was impeckable in the postseason, keeping the sheet clean in both matches and like cluckwork, gave us his best Emi Martinez impression to celebrate 🏆 Congrats on your first trophy, and best of cluck next season!

D1 Coed features some of the league’s most talented squads, and it can often be tough sledding for recently promoted teams. Last season’s D2 champs weren’t feeling burdened though, and in addition to leading all D1 teams with 29 goals scored, Atlanta Beasts defeated Coed’s most decorated team in the Scumbags in the division final, and are repeat champs for the first time in team history! It’s the second D1 trophy for this group, nearly 2 years after their first, and their 4th trophy overall in 13 seasons, which moves them up a few notches on our Champions Wall ⬆️

📣 #THREEEPEAT KLAXON SOUNDING 📣 Balls of Duty does it again, and our stat department is telling us it’s an unprecedented run. This is not just any ole threepeat: Balls of Duty are an insane 27-0-0 in their first 3 seasons, and have scored a staggering 155 goals in that time, all while only allowing 38! Despite playing against tougher competition, this was their best season yet, and 56 goals scored is the new Coed record, which was already theirs from last season. They’ll join an already strong D1 group, and we are looking forward to seeing how far this streak will go. Congrats again y’all, and thanks for another great season!

They Got The Right Stuff! Hardly new to the Monday night leagues, New Kicks on the Block went into their 17th SOPFC season a step or two ahead of the competition, and cruised through the season to become our latest D3 champs! Hard to lose when you bring your shootin’ boots AND a defensive Wahl, and after a 7-0 win in the cupmatch, we’re thinking they’re a shoe-in to stay up after promotion. It’s the second trophy for the squad led by team captain and local legend @chelmannn, and there are almost certainly more to come. Best of luck in D2!

Smells like Team Spirit! Coed’s D4 was probably the most even of all Monday divisions last season, and the 4 teams that qualified for playoffs were all vying for their first league trophy. After leading the division in goals scored, Foreign Funk earned one of those spots, and returned to post-season play for the first time in nearly 2 years. Whether they were able to sniff out their opponents’ weaknesses, or just make scents of their own tactics, Foreign Funk demonstrated skill of the highest odor, and a 1-0 win in the finals earns them their very first trophy. Congrats on the big win!

We were Absolut-ly pumped to see familiar faces Vodka United return for their 11th season after taking a break to start the year! Unsurprisingly, this group didn’t need a ton of time to get back into the swing of things, and a 5-2-0 regular season record had them 2nd in the table with a chance to play some bonus soccer. A semifinal victory set up a rematch against top-seeded Vikings, and because the two regular season matchups saw a win going to each team, we had a fun best-of-3 finale for the D5 title, where Vodka United ultimately won 4-0 to claim their 3rd team trophy!

"Football Club FC" clinched the title of Thursday Soccer Coed Champions for the Spring '24 season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over "Plan B".
Entering the playoffs as the #1 seed and the favored contenders, "Football Club FC" faced a formidable challenge against "Muchas Ganas" in the semifinals. Despite an impressive defensive display from "Muchas Ganas", "Football Club FC's" offense displayed resilience and creativity, breaking through to secure a narrow 1-0 win in a match filled with spectacular plays.
In the second semifinal clash, #2 seed "Plan B" showcased their prowess, dominating "Homies United" with a remarkable 6-1 victory, earning their place in the final showdown.
The championship match was a tense affair, with neither team relenting. "Plan B" seized an early lead with the first goal, but just before halftime, "Football Club FC" rallied to equalize the score at 1-1. Determined to claim the title, both teams emerged from halftime with renewed vigor. In a fiercely contested second half, "Football Club FC" managed to secure the decisive goal, clinching victory and the championship title in a closely fought battle.
Congratulations to "Football Club FC" for their remarkable achievement as the Thursday Soccer Coed Champions of Spring '24!
"Plan B" are the Tuesday Coed Soccer Champions of the Spring '24 season, clinching the title after a dramatic penalty shootout against "Velvet Panthers"!
Entering the playoffs as the #4 seed, "Plan B" knew they had a tough road ahead. Their first challenge was against "Practice Squad," a team they had previously drawn with in the regular season. But "Plan B" came out strong, determined to avoid a repeat of that tie. Their relentless energy and teamwork propelled them to victory, earning them a spot in the semifinals.
The second semifinal was between "Velvet Panthers" and "AMF." The "Velvet Panthers" had already beaten "AMF" in the regular season, and they did it again with a tight 3-2 win to advance to the finals.
The championship match between "Plan B" and "Velvet Panthers" was a thrilling back-and-forth affair. The game began evenly, with both teams playing cautious defense. "Plan B" struck first with a stunning goal midway through the first half, but the "Velvet Panthers" responded with constant pressure and finally equalized before halftime.
In the second half, the "Velvet Panthers" took control with two quick goals, gaining a 3-1 lead. Just when it seemed like they had the game in hand, "Plan B" dug deep and scored twice to tie the game at 3-3, sending it to penalties.
The shootout was a nerve-wracking climax. Both teams converted their first three shots, but the turning point came when "Plan B's" goalkeeper made a crucial save on the "Velvet Panthers'" fourth attempt. With a chance to seal the win, "Plan B" delivered with a perfectly placed shot, clinching the championship in dramatic fashion.
Congratulations to "Plan B" for their resilience and determination, becoming the Tuesday Coed Soccer Champions of the Spring '24 season!
SOPFC’s longest-running rivalry is probably also its fiercest, and the latest matchup didn’t disappoint. Defending champs @mannys.fc posted the division’s best regular season record, and a return trip to the finals saw them up against Has-Beens in a trophy match for the 4th time in the last 7 seasons! There isn’t a ton separating these squads, and after 50 minutes Has-Beens secured their 2nd title in 3 seasons with a 2-1 win. The latest division crown moves Past Participle FC into 3rd all-time outright on our Champions Wall with 11 trophies! Congrats to both vets, thanks for hanging with us on Tuesday nights!

Tuesday Coed was back after taking a season off, and what do you know, @netsixandchill_atl is back in a familiar spot. Nearly a perfect season, with the lone loss being a 9:50 forfeit (yeah, we’re callin’ ya out for that one), the Steam Team played to 6-1 and 2-0 wins in their playoff matches, and earned their 29th (!!!) trophy, still good for top spot on the Champions Wall of Fame. @tea_and_busquets_atl was the last team to dethrone N6 on Tuesdays, and rumor is returning for the Spring season. Vet teams know: if you play long enough, sometimes things don’t go your way, and you gotta hit the reset button. Last season didn’t go the way @belcalciofc is used to, and a tough stretch of games ultimately saw them relegated and assigned to D2. Well, that reset button was absolutely smashed, and in their 6th Tuesday season, the BC Boys posted a division-leading 8-1-0 record, conceded only 8 goals while doing it, and won their FIRST EVER league trophy! Kudos on getting back to D1, and on behalf of the rest of D2, maybe consider staying there this time around.
All 3 Open divisions featured the top 2 seeds in their respective finals, and like the D1 title game, D3 saw the 2 seed pull off something of an upset! Manchesthair United were matched up against a strong @wafflehousefc.atl side, and while the two teams were separated by razor thin margins, it was the Red Devils who came out on top after a 2-1 victory. That’s the first division title for the squad led by Captain and no-nonsense League Ref @ryan.parrish, so if you see him out there make sure to give him some props. Congrats to both teams on the promotion, and best of luck in D2!

As Another Saturday season closes, no need to Guess who the D1 champs are. @bobbayyysjorts Wrangle in their 3rd trophy in a row and their 15th overall, still good for second best all time and closing in on first (cc: @netsixandchill_atl). The XL-sized Gap between the Jorts and their peers is evident when you take a look at the league table: 32 goals scored lead all Saturday squads, and that 0 in the loss column made them D1’s only unbeaten team. While D1 saw a familiar face finish on top, D2’s final brought us a brand new champion! Grass Kickers joined us just over a year ago, and after 5 seasons are taking home their first trophy 🙌 A tough introduction to D1 last time around forced relegation on the group, but after this season, there’s little doubt they deserve to be back. The Grass Kickers were Saturday’s only team to go a perfect 9-0-0, and did so only allowing a measly 6 goals all season. Without feather ado, here come @owlsfcc! The squad from Kennesaw State University returned for their 5th season after a disappointing campaign that saw them relegated, and they were intent on making their D2 stint a short one. A week 1 loss to newly promoted Tiki Taka FC was probably not part of the plan, but a quick regroup would see the team rip off wins in the next 8 games, including a revenge win over Tiki Taka in the finals. That’s now FIVE cups for the Bras, and a THIRD perfect 9-0-0 season, once again standing alone as Wednesday Night’s only blemish-free team. Both teams clearly had great debut seasons, but it was Bonesaw FC that was just a cut above the rest of their D2 peers. If a PERFECT 9-0-0 record wasn’t enough, the Saw scored 39 goals, allowed just 4 all season, and recorded 5 shutouts! Safe to say Bonesaw was indeed ready. Look out D1, you got a good one comin’!

EPEAT CHAMPS! @byeweekfc_ joined the league just 4 seasons ago, but they’ve made quite the impression on Thursday’s top flight. They’ve reached the playoffs in each of those 4 seasons, have 3 championship appearances, and now 2 Division 1 trophies! This season was an especially good one for the squad, as they went undefeated for the first time in team history with a 7-0-2 record, the only zero-loss squad across ALL Thursday teams 👏 Congrats on a great season, and good luck on the threepeat!

@mannys.fc entered their 13th Thursday Coed season after a winter break and something of a trophy drought by their standards. It had been nearly two years since they last won a division title, and at the time it was their 3rd in 5 seasons! Thursdays have grown a bit since 2022 though, and despite adding several more strong teams like co-finalists @soccerstars_fc_, Mannys was able to win what might be their toughest title yet and will be headed back to D1 next season. That makes 7 trophies overall for the club, and you can find a good number of them at @mannysgrantpark. Welcome back, and best of luck in D1!

The battle for the latest Over-30 D1 trophy gave us a classic SOPFC matchup, and with a 6-5 scoreline it was a fun one to watch, too. @goalfellas cruised past upstart Queens Park Strangers in the semis to reach their 11th final, and newly-named Highland 2.0 was able to beat an always-strong @reynoldstownfc before earning a 9th game for the 8th time in team history. Both finalists joined our club in 2016, and between them have an INSANE 69 (nice) seasons between them! Hardly a Dark Horse, 1-seed Highland 2.0 came out on top in an 11-goal scorcher, and earned their 4th trophy in team history! Congrats to both teams, and thanks for all you do to make our club great. Pizza party at the skipper’s spot to celebrate @pizzasaporidinapoli?
Speaking of name changes, Revegeancer FC made their Over-30 debut last season and were given a warm welcome from the rest of D1 that ultimately led to relegation. Hoping for a better sophomore season, the squad rebranded to The Ginyu Force and had their hopes realized with a 6-1-0 regular season record and the division’s top seed. While the Whiskey Shooters were the lone team to defeat them during the season, a finals rematch went the way of The Force, who clearly did not forget their roots and got their revenge with a 2-0 win! Shoutout to captain/fearless leader @mcpicklejar for bringing some familiar league faces to the Over-30 league, and good luck in D1 next season - GINYU FORCE RULES!

Thursday leagues gave us the first SOPFC champs of 2024, and on a night where every other division title was won by the top seed, @threatlevelmidnightfc bucked the trend and are D3 champs as a 2 seed 🐶 And while this masterpiece didn’t quite take three years of writing, one year of shooting, four years of re-shooting and two years of editing, it was almost exactly 1 year after their first SOPFC trophy! Shoutout to our winter season teams for toughing out a cold one, and congrats to Threat Level Midnight on the hardware and promotion!
