"BlueBallerBrand" is our final Monday Softball league champion of the year, notching another title win under their belt. The win makes it their fourth on the year, sweeping Monday nights.
This latest season they finished at 8-2 record, with their losses coming to a couple of other playoff teams. The losses didn't seem to slow them down much though, rebounding with a win both times. As always their offense was on point finishing the season with a +49 point differential, over double that of any other team.
In the first round of the playoffs "BlueBallerBrand" took on "El Fuego", one of the teams they lost to in the regular season. They wouldn't be outdone a second time, and instead brought plenty of offense to the tune of 13 runs. By the end of things, it was a 13-6 victory for the 3-time defending champs.
In the championship game "BlueBallerBrand" ended up facing "Inglorious Ballsters", fresh off a thrilling 8-7 win over "Paula's bootsy Ballas". Their celebrating would end there though, as "BlueBallerBrand" continued their great hitting and picked up 9 more runs on the way to a 9-3 win. Once again, "BlueBallerBrand" proved themselves as the best team on Monday nights. Congrats!
The "Bad News Bears" are our final Sunday Funday league champions of the year after a strong couple of games yesterday afternoon. Entering the playoffs as the #2 team thanks to a 5-2-1 record in the regular season, they were certainly pegged as a team that could win it all.
In their first playoff game the "Bad News Bears" took on "Brew Tang Clan", a squad they had beat twice in the regular season thanks to separate 6-4 and 16-6 wins. And, thanks to their offense, they were able to make it three wins with a 10-6 victory.
Immediately afterward they took on "Gold Diggers", the surprise upset winner over the top seed "Fall Ballers". The "Gold Diggers" were in it for more than just the money yesterday, picking up an impressive 4-2 win over the the playoff favorite.
But, their winning ways would stop there thanks to our champs. The "Bad News Bears", owning a 2-0 regular season record again their championship opponent, tightened up on defense, eventually picking up the shutout. That, paired with three runs of offense, was enough to seal the deal.
Congratulations to "Bad News Bears" on the 3-0 championship game win! Well done!
"Thumpers" is our Friday night Softball champion, winning their second in as many seasons. True to their name they thumped their way to victory often, finishing with a +58 point differential and reaching double digit runs in five games this season.
One of those five games was in the first round of the playoffs where "Thumpers" faced off against #4 "Swingers". It was a great start for the returning champs as they looked to defend their title. By the end of the game they'd cruised to an 11-1 victory. The same couldn't be said for #2 "Team B", who were just able to squeak by with a 2-1 victory in their first round match up against "Where My Pitches At?".
The championship game would be the third meeting of the season between the two, trading wins in those match ups. In this rubber match the "Thumpers" didn't quite hit double digits, but their bats were still good enough to win, notching six runs. That coupled with a great defensive effort won them their second consecutive title, holding a potent "Team B" offense to a mere three runs.
Congratulations to "Thumpers" on another fantastic season, ending with an overall record of 8-2!
"Swinger's Club" is our latest Friday Softball champion, taking out "Sons of Pitches" and Swamp Donkeys" en route to the title. They got off to a hot start, blowing out a strong "Sons of Pitches" team by 10 runs before coming out on top in an evenly fought league final.
Overall they finished 9-1, closing out the season with a +48 point differential and showing they were equally good on offense and defense. "Swinger's Club" routinely putting up double digit run totals on their opponents, and only once all season did they allow their opponent to score more than 4 runs.
That coincides with their lone loss of the season, a 15-5 blowout loss at the hands of "Swamp Donkeys". In the end "Swinger's Club" got the last laugh though, exacting revenge in the championship game with a 7-4 victory.
Congratulations to "Swinger's Club" on great season, ending as the top dog on Friday nights!

The battle between EY and Balls Of Fury was Epic. The best two teams showed why they were the best by going after each other, like a great boxing match, for 9 Innings. It was a low scoring game for 5 innings but with the score tied at 8-8, EY scored 5 runs in the top of the ninth to pull away.
Congrats EY for The Championship Victory.
The "Baby Batters" are our Thursday Fall Softball champions, taking down the "Interstellar Steelers" in the championship game by the score of 9-8. The win was the ultimate redemption after losing to them twice in the regular season.
The first time the two teams met "Interstellar Steelers" won 5-2, but is was the 20-10 butt-kicking that really hurt. But instead of wallowing in the loss the "Baby Batters" got right back up the following week. They built on a 14-4 effort earlier in the night and carried that on to the championship game. That was thanks in part to their offense, which was a strong suit all season. They ended up reaching double-digit run totals five times, and just missing out on a sixth with their nine run championship game effort.
Overall "Baby Batters" finished the season with a 7-2 record, with their two losses coming at the hands of what would become their season-long rival. They got the season off on the right foot with a three game winning streak, and thanks to the hot start were atop the standings all season long. Congratulations to them on a fantastic season, capped off by a nail-biting championship game victory!
Make it a Double played like champions all year. Offensively they hit the ball all over the yard and were able to score the most runs in the league. Defensively, Make it a Double played great defense all year and in combination with their offense were able win the championship.

In decisive fashion, The Bomb Squad put on an offensive showcase. The Bomb Squad's stacked lineup suffers no holes offensively or defensively, and their skill overpowered the Dothrookies in the championship. That is no small feat - The Dothrookies are seriously talented and athletic. Ultimately, the fundamental playing habits, situational knowledge, and game experience from the seasoned Bomb Squad won out. Congratulations to the Dothrookies for making it to the finals, and to The Bomb Squad, Underdog Champions!

In an exciting and back and forth game for the championship, Shots just had a little to much for comeback kids in The Wendell Moore Bombers and won the championship 7 to 6. This game was full of great defensive plays. Even without their Ace Pitcher, out due to injury from the playoffs, shots rallied this whole season as a strong team and won the championship. Congrats Shots for a great season.

For awhile the story on Championship Sunday appeared to be the rain and how it was going to postpone the climax of Fall Woodlands another week. The rain fell in earnest on the 3:00 PM game between We Love Dishwashers and The Crows, but the field held up and the Dishwashers laid on the boom with a 30-run explosion of offense to punch a ticket to the finals.
They'd have to wait to see their opponent, however, and on the other side of the bracket Eagle Bait became the story line, picking off the Hitmen and then the number 1 seed Stranger Danger by large double-digit margins.
So the final featured Dishwashers and Eagle Bait, the 2 seed doing their job and the upstarts trying to climb the ladder. The deciding game was close on the scoreboard but felt even closer, the teams trading leads a few times before Dishwashers began to pull away for good in the 5th inning. It still took Raj's clutch pitching performance and a defensive lockdown (5 runs allowed in 3 innings) for Dishwashers to complete their victory and earn the trophy. Eagle Bait had plenty to hold their head up a bit and had an impressive run, but Dishwashers were able get it done.
Talk about a long day. After winning the 12pm game, the Seattle Seattle Mariners weren't sure if the later games would even happen, with the rain just starting to pick up. Luckily for everyone, the field held up in the rain and no games had to be postponed.
Upon returning to the field at 4:30, the SSM were facing a tough, veteran team in the Arbornauts. Just a week ago the Arbornauts had defeated the SSM 14-5 in a close, defensive matchup. SSM turned the bats loose for this semifinal matchup, scoring in every inning en route to a 23-15 victory, assisted by 9 runs in the final two innings. SSM didn't have long to celebrate, as they were facing their nemesis, Bottom of the Fifths, in the title game. BOTF had beaten SSM earlier in the season pretty handily, and after a first inning where BOTF hit all 3 of their HR's (totaling 4 runs), SSM knew they needed to step it up. Step it up they did, as they slowly bit into the 4-0 lead inning by inning, and in the top of the 6th finally tied up the game 5-5. Pitching and defense was the name of this championship game, as BOTF were held scoreless for the 2nd through 5th innings. With the score tied at 5-5 in the top of the 7th, Jesse (who had pitched all 3 games) came to the plate with a runner in scoring position and drove home the go-ahead run. All they needed to do was have a blemish-free bottom of the 7th and championship glory was theirs. All BOTF could do was get a runner to second before hitting into the final out as the SSM celebrated in the middle of the diamond on a well-earned victory.
This won't be the last time these two face off against each other in the playoffs, this is quite the rivalry developing. A well-played game by both teams, and a great season!
Base-ic Pitches had a great offensive game today. They hit base-ically any pitch that was thrown near the strike zone hard. Defensively they played solid defense all day and kept their opponents at bay all day. This recipe served them well all through out the season and they definitely played well enough to be crowned champions.

Defense wins championships, they say... but E n' C demonstrated offense doesn't hurt either belting 6 home runs on championship night (and 2 Home Run Limit Outs) en route to the midcore title. Against Random Collision they jumped out to an early lead off of home runs by Mike, Dan, and Blake and always kept the R.C. crew at arm's length throughout the contest. In the final they faced a Pitches Be Cray squad which had just come back to vanquish first overall seed Kate's Pub in the previous game.
The final was more of the same, and an 8 run second inning gave EnC a lead they would never surrender on the way to a 23-11 romp. 5 EnC balls cleared the fence in the second game and power came from up and down the lineup. Keep celebrating guys!
In an offensive back-and-forth battle 1st ranked Aqua Sox beat 3rd ranked Pitch, Please in the bottom of the 5th. Aqua Sox started the 1st inning off with 5 runs and then Pitch, Please answered with 6 runs in the top of the 2nd to take the lead 7-5. Then Aqua Sox added 10 runs in the 4th after not scoring in the 2nd and 3rd. Pitch,Please added 3 runs in the 5th to pull them within 4 runs of the leader, and then Aqua Sox added 6 runs to end the game at 21-11. "Pitch Me Outside How Bout That" has won our Monday Softball league for the third straight season, taking out "Scoots and Toots" in the championship game.
Prior to the night "Pitch Me Outside How Bout That" was locked into the championship game, but their opponent had yet to be decided. "Woo Girls" was in the driver's seat, but a tough 16-8 loss to "Teal Team 6" left the door open. In slipped "Scoots and Toots", who defeated "Baseic Pitches" 5-4 in the first game of the night, and with the win "Scoots and Toots" finished the regular season in second place.
This title was a rematch of last season's game, which ended in a nail-biting 3-2 win. It was also the third match up of the season between these two teams, with "Pitch Me Outside How Bout That" winning the first two. There wasn't much difference this time either, as our champs showed that they were the better team once again in a 6-3 win over "Scoots and Toots".
Offense has always been their greatest strength, and this season was no different. 3 times this season they posted double-digit run totals, indicated by their league-leading +40 run differential.
Congratulations to "Pitch Me Outside How Bout That" on another undefeated season, finishing with a perfect 9-0 record!
S19 faced an early 6 run deficit in the championship game, but that didn't faze the squad. Great hitting from the plate not only saw them tie the game, but take a 3 run lead heading into the top of the 6th inning. The championship wasn't locked up, however; S19 made some great defensive plays, including a throw to third from the pitcher while on his back and a throw across the field from the third baseman to force an out at first. While The B Team made a valiant effort to tie the game up, but solid pitching closed out the game for S19. As he has been so often this season, Mat was a huge driving force in his team's win. He went 4-4 with 5 RBIs, propelling S19 to a late game lead. His defense in center sealed the championship. #S19!

"The Bumblebees" are our newest Sunday Funday League champion following a great day of softball by them.
Entering the day as the #2 seed, they got a first round bye along with the top seed "Team B". Unfortunately for "Team B" it didn't help them much, as they fell to the defending champion "Glove Love" by the score of 13-6 in a high-scoring affair. As for our champs, "The Bumblebees" picked up a great 8-6 win to clinch their spot in the championship game. Thanks to their win and the "Team B" loss, they would be challenged with defeating the team that had won the last four Sunday championships.
In the final we fast-forward to the sixth inning, with "The Bumblebees" down by the score of 4-2. With the bases loaded and a lefty up to bat, he pulled one deep down the right field line, clearing the bases and rounding the bases himself for a grand slam!
With a 6-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th, "The Bumblebees" were able to shut down "Glove Love". That wasn't without a small scare though. The defending champs didn't go down too quietly, getting a 1-out double to bring the game-tying run to the plate. However, thanks to heads up defense, they ended the game with a double play. After getting the force at first, the runner on third base was caught straying to far off the bag and was tagged out to end the game.
In all a very successful season for "The Bumblebees", finishing with an 8-1-1 record, but most importantly the championship! Congratulations!
A 10-run 3rd and a 9-run 7th inning. That's all Orange Crush'n on Sophos needed in holding off the Stampeeding Manatees in the championship game on Tuesday night. Things started a little bleak, as OC were down 5-0 heading into the 3rd. There they put up a 10-spot, but were still leading by only 2 runs headed into the final inning. They stormed back with 9 runs in the 7th, highlighted by a monster HR by Captain Austin. All game long they were hitting it where the Stampeeding Manatees weren't, and hitting the clutch home runs when needed. Stampeeding Manatees put up a good fight throughout the game, but let a few big innings get away from them. They never hung their heads and kept fighting until the final out. A well played championship game by both teams!

The "Swamp Donkeys" are our top Friday night softball team, edging out last season's champ "Sons of Pitches" in the final.
All season long the "Swamp Donkeys" were the team to beat, finishing with a 9-1 record. Their one loss on the season was at the hands of "Swingers Club", who they'd go on to defeat by the score of 6-4 in the first round of the playoffs to avenge their loss. But, aside from that blemish, their offense carried them through the season. They never scored less than six runs, and more impressively notched a double-digit run total in six out of their 10 games.
The championship was one of those games, once again deferring to offense to take the title. They'd go on to win 11-7, outscoring a potent "Sons of Pitches" squad that was hungry for a second title in as many seasons. It may have looked like an easy road to the title, but it was far from it. Congratulations to "Swamp Donkeys" on the impressive season!
The "Thumpers" are our top Tuesday night softball team after a strong playoff performance. True to their name they 'thumped' the competition, hitting double-digit run totals in each of their games on Tuesday night.
That wasn't anything new though, as the "Thumpers" entered the night as the favorite to with the championship. Their 6-1-1 regular season was tops among a solid group of teams. A deadly combo of offense and defense led to a +52 point differential by season's end, double that of any other team.
In the playoffs the "Thumpers" showed off their offensive and defensive prowess, allowing three total runs in two games. They also scored 21 runs, winning each game by nine runs. Even in the championship game it was no contest, taking down a clear contender in "Townies" with relative ease.
Congratulations to "Thumpers" on a fantastic season. Can they make it back to back titles? We can't wait to find out!
Red Machine knew what they had to do- win 3 possible games in 80+ degree weather (add 10-15 degrees on the turf!). WIth the right mindset, almost anything is possible- and they were all up to the task in claiming their 2nd league title in 4 seasons.
The first two games were close ones right down to the wire for the Red Machine. They scored all of their runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings against Freak Indy Sheets, but held on for a tight 8-6 victory, highlighted by captain Maggie's deep 3-Run HR to right field. Their next opponent, They Might Be Giants had toppled them in the regular season and had the home field advantage. Offense was the name of the game in that one, as Red Machine held on to a 22-20 victory in a game where the bats on both sides couldn't be stopped. Red Machine rode their epic semifinal win to a blowout in the championship game, as they defeated their nemesis Softest Balls in the Land 14-5. It was a great season by many teams, and the Red Machine was the greatest of them all. Congrats!
"Jalapeno Face" has won the latest Thursday night softball championship, eeking out a 4-3 win over "Golden State Pitches" in the final. Despite entering the night as the favorite to win it all it wasn't an easy road to the podium. They had to battle through back to back one-run ball games, each time turning in a clutch performance.
In the first round "Jalapeno Face" edged out the #4 seed "Saved By the Ball", a squad who had gotten close to defeating our eventual champs earlier this season as well only to fall by one run. Unfortunately it just wasn't their season and they'd bow out after the first game.
In the other half of the bracket "Golden State Pitches" also had a bit of a scare, narrowly escaping with a 9-8 win over "We've Got the Runs" in a high-scoring affair.
In the championship both defenses buckled down and played well, though "Jalapeno Face" was just that much better. Neither team could pull away, but the one extra run was all our champion needed to take the title. In the end they'd take the 4-3 win, and most importantly as the championship! Congratulations to "Jalapeno Face" on a fantastic season!
After fighting hard this season, Hogh and Outside was able to secure the number one spot through excelling at defense, bringing tricky pitching, and swinging the sticks. Congratulations!

After a great season at Bobby Morris, the championship game came down to the House Elves against the reigning champs, Hit 'Em With the D. After an early 5-0 lead from the House Elves, the D came right back and made it a game, finally taking the lead in the 5th. The House Elves wouldn't back down after giving up the lead, gaining a 1 run advantage in the top of the 7th inning. After tying it up, the D were able to drive a single through a gap with bases loaded to walk-off with the championship. Tremendous play from both sides trade this a playoff series to remember.

Sportin' Jorts is your Midcore Champions, taking down I'd Hit That in a comeback thriller at Bobby Morris. In a tense, low-scoring game, I'd Hit that slowly built up a 7-1, and then a 10-4 lead. In their first game they had beaten the Upper Deckers by 24 runs, and it seemed as though that momentum would carry them past the Sportin Jorts.
The Jorts had other plans, however, and calmly put together a 7-run fifth inning to capture their first lead of the night. Those runs wound up being the last of the contest, as each team traded blank innings through to the end of the game. Big hits from Mike W, including a blast to the trees, and a steady pitching performance by James P. were critical in allowing the Jorts to gain and maintain the lead.
It wasn't an offensive slugfest, but it was tight and action packed. The Jorts looked good with their new Champs headbands, and vowed to return and defend their title.
After defeating the Seattle MerryIners, the Son's of Pitches found themselves in a hole against the Aluminum Falcons, who hit extremely well all day. Even after minor injuries, the Pitches kept fighting and took the game to extra innings, thanks to Amanda M. hitting 4-5 on the day. Down 2 runs and with 2 runners on base, the Pitches were able to blast a walk-off 3-run home run in left center field to win the championship! What a thrilling end to a great season for both teams!

The Thick Sticks were going for their 3rd championship in as many years on Sunday, and when the dust had settled, this dynasty had been officially started. Their opponent was tough though, as Dogwood held a 2-2 tie going into the bottom of the 3rd inning. But then the Thick Sticks got their sticks going, scoring 4, 4, and 3 runs over the next three innings to open to floodgates. Mike V. was a big reason why, clubbing 2 homers en route to a 7 RBI night and earning Player of the Game honors.

Seattle Smashed entered the night as the number two seed and promptly showed a desire to win against Not Telling, jumping out to a 5-run lead in the first inning, and never looking back. Malik O, player of the game, led the way with three hits and stellar defensive work, as the Smashed cruised to a 12-run win that was decided in a mere hour and five minutes.
The victory earned Smashed the right to compete against MCM for the title, who themselves had emerged victorious in the other semi-final by a lopsided margin. Seattle Smashed set to work again, though not as quickly, slowly accumulating runs before breaking it open in a 18-9 win. Malik took a back seat in the nightcap to Coach and Captain James, who cruised to 5 RBI's off of a pair of home runs and 3 additional hits. The 1900 (MCM) just couldn't find the holes as Smashed rode to the crown. A thoroughly deserved championship for the Seattle Smashed.
After knocking off the #1 seed the previous week, Random Collision came into the Championship game with St. John's, very hot. And they keep the tread going, jumping out to a 9-3 lead in the second. But St. John's kept chipping away and turned up the defense, giving up no runs in the 3rd or 5th innings, while scoring 7 in the 5th to take a 16-12 lead into the 6th. Random rallied for a few runs late, but just couldn't put together a big inning. Congrats to St. John's for a great win and both team for a great Championship game. McKinstry came out swinging early, taking a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning, but the Plukers battled back in the 3rd, tying it at 3-3. The tie was short-lived though, as McKinstry drove in another 3 in the bottom of the frame to take back their lead and never look back. In the final game, down by 2 in the 3rd inning, All About That Base kicked it into overdrive and knocked in 7 runs to take back an 11-6 lead. They never looked back as they kept Beach Balls Deep in check the rest of the night, holding them to a combined 4 runs over the next 4 innings. The infield D was magnificent as they turned a couple double plays with some SportsCenter highlights mixed in as well.

The Arbornauts have done it once again, capturing their fifth overall league title and their first since two seasons ago. This team is an anomaly if I could use that word to describe them as the average age of the team is about 35 years old. Not saying that's old by any measure but when you are going up against 20 year olds things can get ugly real fast. Well, this team, no matter their age have the chemistry, the togetherness, the mental toughness and just an all out balls to the wall attitude that has carried them and gotten them through many battles. On Sunday they were absolutely dominant. When I say dominant, I mean dominant. They put up 49 runs over two games and continued to pound the ball and run the bases like it was the last game that they were ever gonna play. When you can score nearly 50 runs over two games that means that someone is getting after it. Well, they got after it and when the dust settled, all the other teams were washed away. This team is the classiest and most caring bunch I have ever had the pleasure of umping and if you know their history and all the beatings they took as a team week in and week out, you will understand that the final product now is exactly what they were hoping for and is exactly what they are supposed to be. They could have disbanded a few seasons ago but they didn't because of their love of softball and their respect and care for one another. Great job Arbornauts and congratulations for yet another league championship.

Entering the semi-finals as the number 1 seed always ups the pressure, but Frank's Lil' Sluggers were up to the challenge Thursday night. After a slow start against Hold My Beer, the Sluggers stepped on the gas with an 8-run second, cued by player of the game Evan S's mammoth home run. The Sluggers never relinquished their lead and rode a 17-11 scoreline to the finals.
Awaiting them in the championship game were Lether and Associates, who had vanquished Bannon's Little Bunters in a tightly contested 12-8 affair that saw an amazing tag-out at second base to seal the deal.
In the final, Frank's Lil' Sluggers dominated again from the second inning, and cruised to a massive 31-12 final scoreline, featuring 2 home run blasts and 3 innings with 8 or more runs. The Slugger's celebrated their win with photos and a dog, and took a champs prize of a Team Fee coupon, firmly stating their intentions of a another attempt at Underdog Glory. They certainly owned it Thursday Night!
"Pitch Me Outside How About That 2" is our latest Monday Softball champion, picking up their second straight title this year. However, unlike in the Spring league where they squeaked into the playoffs as a #4 seed, this squad was dominant all season finishing with an undefeated 10-0 record.
All season long "Pitch Me Outside" rode their offense, hitting double-digit run totals in 8 of their 10 games. The two times they didn't reach double-digits were against their greatest competition, "The Pink that DONT Stink". Both games between the two were hotly contested one-run games, including the championship game.
In the championship "The Pink that DONT Stink" held "Pitch Me Outside" to their lowest offensive output of the season, allowing just 3 runs. Unfortunately for them, "Pitch Me Outside" is just as good defensively as they are offensively. While their bats were held in check, the defense did the heavy lifting, allowing just 2 runs to take the 3-2 win in the championship.
Congratulations to "Pitch Me Outside How About That 2" on a perfect championship run!
"Sons of Pitches is our latest Friday night softball champion after a night of upsets in the playoffs.
Entering as the #4 seed, "Sons of Pitches" brought their 'A' game on Friday night and started things off with an upset of the top seeded "Swamp Donkeys". It was quite the nail-biter, but "Sons of Pitches" fought off the top regular season team to the tune of a 5-4 win to make it to the championship. Even sweeter was the revenge factor, with "Sons of Pitches" dropping two games to "Swamp Donkeys" earlier in the season.
In the championship game "Sons of Pitches" took on #3 "Multiple Scoregasms". It was another hard fought game, but once again "Sons of Pitches" avenged a regular season loss. This time that came in the form of a 7-4 championship game win!
Congratulations to "Sons of Pitches" for capping off the season with the championship! They may have had their ups and downs in the regular season, but once they got to the playoffs it was all business!

"Glove Love" remains the top team on Sundays, taking out "MASTERBATTERS" in the championship game for a second straight season. In fact they would outscore their playoff opponents by an impressive 19-1 margin, putting to rest any hopes other teams had of taking them down.
Overall they'd finish with a 9-1 record, with their lone loss coming at the hands of "Nice Snatch!". But, instead of dwelling on the loss, "Glove Love" came out and fought to a 5-4 win in the final game of the season against "Brew-Tang Clan" to right the ship in time for the playoffs.
And while "MASTERBATTERS" and "Nice Snatch!" were fighting it out for a championship berth, "Glove Love" quietly and easily cruised to the final on their side of the bracket. Turns out, they would cruise all the way to the top to another title.
Congratulations to "Glove Love" on another impressive season!
Phase 2 played hard all year and they finally came together in the playoffs
Dan and his team hit the ball all over the field
Their team defense was accurate and related on great pitching
To see how a team can come together, even after having a rough season to win, is what playing for Underdog is all about. Everyone has fun, and they all play hard.
"Just the Tip" is our latest Thursday Softball champion, battling a couple of tough opponents along with the heat to be crowned the best team in the league!
As the #3 seed entering the playoffs, "Just the Tip" had a tough road ahead with potentially two better opponents to defeat if they wanted to win it all. They would start things off with a great 6-3 win over "We Bee Buzzin", showcasing their defensive deft. In our other semifinal game the favorite, "Inglorious Batters", took care of business in a 14-4 route of "I'd Hit That".
In the championship game it was more of an offensive showdown. "Just the Tip" was able to show they were more than just a defensive team, putting up 10 runs to just edge out the 9 they allowed. That's nothing new for this team though, with clutch genes running through their veins. They had won two other times this season in one-run ballgames, making them seasoned veterans when it happened again in the championship game.Congratulations to "Just the Tip" on a fantastic season!

"Team B" is our latest Tuesday night softball champion thanks to a walk-off sac fly to win the game! The game couldn't have been closer, with "Where My Pitches At?" fighting tooth and nail until the tie was finally broken on the last at bat.
"Team B" was our best squad through the regular season, earning themselves the #1 for the playoffs. That didn't mean things would be easy though. They had a hard-fought win against #4 "Team A" where they squeaked by with a 5-4 win. It was the same in our 2 vs 3 match-up, with "Where My Pitches At?" taking down "The Swingers" 5-3.
In the end it was a near perfect season, but that doesn't take away from their awesome 9-1 overall record. Congratulations to "Team B" on winning the title in a very competitive league, with a number of solid teams!
After a long hard fought season Pitch Better Have my Honey was able to claim the title of champions! All season long this team knew how to work together to get wins. They would always be communicating and working as a team which helped lead them to victory. They always say team work makes the dream work and this team made the dream work by sticking together and everyone contributing in different ways. Every game they played it they had someone step up and make a great play. They were always positive towards each other and picking each other up. Way to go Pitch Better Have my honey! Congrats on a great season.

It was a beautiful championship Sunday, and Pitch Slap brought out the big sticks in the playoffs. A two-week break did nothing but rejuvenate the squad, as they came out firing on all cylinders in their 3 playoff games, scoring 24, 28 and 18 runs in all 3 games.
Their opponent in the championship, Balls Deep, were coming off 2 thrilling close victories, including a walk off in the bottom of the 7th in their quarterfinal. They kept Pitch Slap in check for most of the game, but there was that one inning where the ball kept landing deep beyond the outfielders' heads and the runs kept piling up. Pitch Slap overcame a gruesome injury to their pitcher, but held on to win the league title.
Well done to all teams!
Rich and Jay's Love Children entered the day as the low seed in a game against league juggernauts Bottom of the 5ths. The Children and 5ths did battle in a game that will go down in underdog history. A 20-19 contest that had 7 lead changes and crazy momentum swings, the Children took the lead for good in the bottom of the 6th inning, before holding off a potent 5th's lineup to advance to a final against the Dugouts, who had earlier vanquished Ground Rule Trouble.
The Children came out in the final and stomped on the gas, pouring on 34 runs to the Dugouts eventual 7, most of which came in garbage time. The game was 18-1 by the fourth inning, and every player for the Children had a hit. The star of the night was the man in the hot dog shirt, Sean, who blasted towering balls down the left field line into adjacent fields with the Dugouts powerless to stop his blasts.
As the sun set on Soundview, Rich and Jay's Love Children basked in their championship crown.
In the softcore division, the Omeros, Bringing Vogelbach, All About that Base, and Alternative Runs advanced to the next round at Dahl Playfield in a week's time.
Dickbat had a lot of fun out there all season, and were definitely a joy to be at
The Championship game was close until the last inning, where dickbat's bats, finally erupted for 15 runs!!!
They rode their hot bats and great defense for their championship victory!!!
Fireballz played hard the whole game and almost squeaked out a victory.
Thanks to playing all out to the end, these sons of pitches were able to get a big win. Very solid defense with solid hitting made this team a force to notice.

Extra extra, read all about it! Big Pink's got headbands and their gonna shout it. Big Pink!
Definitely the chattiest team on the field for this round of playoffs. Big Pink's got energy for days, and they used it to their advantage. They chased down pickles, ran the based hard, and chatted up teams all day long.
Congratulations Big Pink, on your Big Win!
Led by the Serbian Sensation Alex, some very delicious pitching from Brittney and some very hot bats, I'd Hit That powers through the higher seeded field to capture their 2nd league title. This team from the start did not bend, did not break and in fact they ruled their universe with complete authority on Sunday. Seeds didn't matter to them and it didn't matter what team they faced, they were destined to win their second championship. This team was absolutely dominant in every facet of each game they played. They didn't just win, they trounced teams and in the process got themselves closer to what we would call in the back to back championship world, a Dynasty! If this team stays together they are going to rule any league that they get into. They play for each other and just have fun and when you do that good things happen for your team. Congratulations guys and gals and we will see you again soon.

Having vanquished their first/round opponent a week prior, the Strangers arrived on Wednesday looking to take care of business and immediately found themselves in a dogfight with the McNasties. The game went back and forth until a fourth inning of 9 runs to 1 in favor of the Strangers, who never looked back on their way to a 23-7 victory which arrived suddenly, when the contest was stopped due to an injury to a McNasties Player.
As the rain began in earnest, so did the championship game, and the Strangers took no quarter, scorring 7, 3, 3, 6, 4, and 4 runs en route to a 27-8 thrashing of the 2nd seed Hotline Swing. The hits just piled up and with them came the runs; the game was all but decided after 3 innings.
Congratulations to the Strangers!
Hit 'EM With The D has done it again! They found themselves in a knock down drag out with Random Collision on Wednesday night and in the end it was the power, speed, bats and defense that made the difference. Basically everything you need to hold a great team at bay. They were relentless throughout pounding the ball batter after batter and when the dust settled The D's battleship was the only boat left standing. This team is considered one of the elite teams playing in the USL and is much deserved. After plowing through powerhouse team after powerhouse team this team has proven that they are the new dogs on the block and challenge all comers. You won't match their hustle or their energy a lot of the times so when you square off with them, strap yourself in and hold on tight. Great win D and congratulations on winning your 2nd league crown

Pitch Please over the past few seasons have climbed the USL ladder faster than any new young team competing in our leagues. I have seen them evolve and mature into the scary force that they are now and the product they put on the field any major league manager would be proud of. It usually takes new teams four or five seasons to acclimate but they are stacked from top to bottom and play a style of softball that is in your face and relentless. Don't ever show up against this team and not willing to do battle. They don't care about records or who a team is. All they want to do is play and win. They're the nicest bunch of players I have ever had the pleasure of umping but don't let that fool you. This team is full of assassins and If your'e short handed, it's gonna be even worse. On Thursday night powerhouse All Star Super Stars found out what I have known since I have started umping this team, they look really friendly and innocent until they step on the field. From the first pitch to the last this team gives everything they have. They play a relaxed style of ball that helps them forget the errors and the bad plays and move on to get past more experienced teams who cannot do that and wind up falling apart in the end. They are smart, savvy and know the game of momentum. Once they have the momentum, good night, drive safe and good luck. This team will rule their kingdom for some time and it's only them who stands in their way. Congratulations on winning your first ever league title and can't wait to see you guys and gals in action again soon.

The Big Cats can finally relax and savor the moment after knocking off the Moist Towelettes to secure their very first league title. After their semi final matchup with That's What She Said everyone in the building had a feeling that this team was destined. I have seen them come up short in years past in heart breaker games and they always vow to be back and get that league title. Well, Sunday was their day and they would not be denied. Led by Peter, Tristan, Jordan, Jacob, Evan. Matt, Lindsay, Alyssa, Allison, Franchesca, Robbie and the rest of the crew, they were simply too focused and too determined to let this championship slip away. Congratulations to the Big Cats or as I like to call them "El gatos Grande" on your first league title and we look forward to seeing you defend. As the saying goes, "it's hard to get to the top and even harder to stay there". They look like a team that's going to rule for a while until other teams can match their energy and play. Great game everyone!!

The Thunder Buddies have done it again. On Saturday they captured their second league title in as many years in grand fashion knocking off league power house Pinehurst Pounders. With delicious pitching from Eugene all day long, hot bats from Chris, Mike, Hamish, Jill, Kelly and the rest of the crew, they would not be denied. After a long nine inning semi-final game against a very tough team, their intestinal fortitude showed up when they were down and out and the situation not looking good for them. They held strong, withstood the storm, responded in kind and before you know it they were playing for a championship. In the championship game they hit another gear literally and after the dust cleared they dropped 28 runs on the Pounders and only giving up a handful themselves securing their second league title. This could be a dynasty in the making and it's gonna be fun to see them defend their new crown next season. Great game to everyone at team KOMO and everyone I didn't mention who played a huge part in capturing another league title.

"Pitch Me Outside How Bout Dat" is our latest Monday Night Softball champion! As the #4 seed they faced an uphill battle, but they didn't let that stop them from winning it all.
After a strong 13-4 win to start the season, "Pitch Me Outside How Bout Dat" went into a bit of a slump. They'd lose their next 3 games, dropping them to 1-3 and out of a playoff spot. After that they got hot though, pulling it together and locking up that #4 playoff seed.
In the playoffs "Pitch Me Outside How Bout Dat" took out "Woo Girls" after an 11-7 win over the top team in the regular season. In our other semifinal game the #2 seed "Brian and Frank's Team", took care of business in a nail-biter, setting our championship.
In the final "Pitch Me Outside How Bout Dat" carried their great hitting over from the semifinal and dropped another 11 runs. Their 22 runs last night was their highest 2-game output of runs all season, saving their best for last. Unfortunately for "Brian and Frank's Team" their offense just quite couldn't keep pace, falling short. In the end, it was an 11-8 win for our underdogs.
Congratulations to "Pitch Me Outside How Bout Dat" for fighting through some early season adversity to take the championship. We can't wait to see if they can defend their title, as they get set for the upcoming season!
The "New York YankDEEZ" are our latest Friday Night Softball champions thanks to some hot bats in the championship game. They'd finish with a convincing 13-7 win over "Multiple Scoregasms", all the while sealing an undefeated 9-0 season and taking the ultimate prize, the championship.
Throughout the season "New York YanDEEZ" was the team to beat, putting in work both on offense and defense. In all these champs finished with a +75 run differential, completely eclipsing the rest of the league in that category. Only once or twice this season did things even get dicey, but each time they were able to maintain their dominance and pick up the win. In the end those clutch victories led to their undefeated season.
Congrats once again to "New York YankDEEZ"! We wish them luck in this upcoming Friday season, with a full slate of new teams ready to take on the champs. Can they defend their title?
The "Out of Towners" are our Thursday night softball champions thanks to a strong win in the championship game. It wasn't easy, but they got the job done when it counted most, and in the end they were rewarded!
Heading into the final against our champs was "I'd Hit That", a team that they'd lost to twice in the previous three weeks. Not only was it going to be an uphill battle, there was a mental element to it as well. But, this time the "Out of Towners" were ready for the challenge. They upped the ante and played one of their best games of the season on the defensive side of things while also picking up some timely runs. With that combination "Out of Towners" were able to pull of the 5-3 win!
Congratulations to the "Out of Towners" on a successful campaign, and we wish them the best of luck on Tuesday nights!
"Where My Pitches At?" is our Tuesday night softball league champion thanks to a great bout of hitting in the championship game. The entered their final regular season game with a spot already locked in for the finals, though their opponent had yet to be decided.
In the first game of the night the "Score Squad" picked up a crucial 11-10 win over "The Swingers" thanks to a critical walk followed by a 2-RBI hit. With the win "Score Squad" pretty much punched their ticket to the final, with "Where My Pitches At?" expected to defeat "City Bears". And that they did, with a 14-5 scoreline.
In the championship game "Where My Pitches At?" started well, picking up multiple runs in the first few innings while blanking "Score Squad". Things got interesting though as "Score Squad" started to mount a comeback, but it was too little too late with just too big a deficit to make up.
Congratulations to "Where my Pitches At?" on another fantastic season. With a few more teams to contend with next season, we can't wait to see if they can bring it again next season!
Once again "Glove Love" is our top team, with another perfect season in the books! These reigning champs continue to prove they are the best of the best, and with a 10-0 season to start the year they've done that once again.
From the first game of the season to the championship, it was business as usual for "Glove Love". Only once this season did an opponent even reach 3 runs scored, proving their defense was just as good as their offense. That offense, oh by the way, averaged over 11 runs a game. All there is to say is that this team is incredibly consistent at the highest level, game in and game out.
But, despite being the top team, we have to give them credit for their sportsmanship as well! Despite knocking out "Masterbatters" 12-2 in the final, they were courteous enough to give the winning tab to their opponents because they couldn't use it. It's teams like this that make Xoso truly a great experience. Congrats to them, not only on their great softball skills, but for being such a great team season to season!
Frank's L'il Sluggers are Spring League champs once again. On Thursday night in an intense and epic match up with power house All Star Super Stars, this team shined late with hitting and defense holding the Super Stars under their usual run average and giving themselves a chance at a title. Led by Anna Huntington who was on fire at the plate also pitched a helluva game, muzzling Super Star bats late into the game. On defense Jeanette led the way with a display of Gold Glove work rarely seen from female players. She also batted 4 for 4 with two key hits late in the game that scored 2 runs and helped pad the lead heading into the 7th. This is a great win for an awesome team and we look forward to seeing you guys and gals in a few weeks for another round of USL softball. Congratulations!!

Once again we are crowning No Pants Party champions of the Spring League. We've seen this movie time and again and this team has continued to dominate year in and year out despite missing some key members of their organization. There is never any arguing, no giving the umps crap, getting into it with other teams, being unsportsmanlike or anything from this team. Instead they show up, warm up, take the field and get after it. While they are getting after it as they do, teams are being smashed one after the other. This is a testament to finding the right bunch of friends to play with and sticking together through the losing. I have witnessed this team evolve for 9 years now and what they have become is just pure dominant. That's the only way to describe it. With stellar pitching, hitting, defense and all out hustle this team will definitely go into the USL Hall of Fame after their days are done. Great job team and especially a shout out to Aaron who just tore it up at the plate. In the end it was a total team effort that made the difference. When this team plays the way that they did on Wednesday night, it's scary and a warning to those teams in the league that as long as they are here, the championship road will always go through them.

Well, we have crowned the DM's as league champions, their first in many to come if they should stay together. This team is special from top to bottom and all they do is hustle and have fun. On Sunday they held off perienial powerhouse Chix and Sticks with a defensive showing that was one for the ages. Led by Kendall Sahl's hot bat and Gold Glove play this team was destined for a title. Congratulations for your first league title and we look forward to seeing you again in action in the Spring.

The Bombers showed up on Saturday just like I thought they would. They struggled a little during the regular season because of personnel challenges. On Sunday they had everybody on deck and ready to go resulting in an epic win and one of the most thrilling games in recent USL history. The fight was not easy as the Frozen Ropes put up heavy resistance and would not go away. Down 20 to 13 heading into the sixth inning they scored 7 unanswered and tied the game going into the 7th. Well, after both teams could only score once in the preceding inning it took 8 innings to settle the score. In a thrilling ending the Bombers scored 5 runs in the top of the 8th and held the Ropes to 2 runs to seal the deal. Congratulations Bombers on yet another USL title.
