It was a hot evening at Farragut Park this past Tuesday. Diamond Dogs saw a long road ahead of them to get to the championship. Their first battle came between the #2 seeded Riot Sox who have been lights out the last few games.
In a close back and forth game all night long, Diamond Dogs were able to open the lead in the 6th. Riot Sox gave it their best effort at the end, but was no match for the stellar defense and big hits from the Diamond Dogs.
Then it all came down to the winner of Wasted Potential and Diamond Dogs for the championship game. In another back and forth battle, there were some big hits and incredible highlight reel plays in the field by both teams. Again, Diamond Dogs dug deep and extended their lead big in the 6th inning when Cody took a ball to deep left hitting a grand slam that sparked all the energy for Diamond Dogs. Diamond Dogs were able to hold off a late 7th inning push and take down the #1 seeded Wasted Potential to secure the victory and championship. Congratulations, Diamond Dogs!
In the Semi final we went an extra inning to have a team advance to the final. Gus Bus pulled it off with a walk-off hit to secure the win! Rolling into the final there was no looking back. They jumped out to a 10-1 lead and never stopped….. nice championship run!!!!

Sunny warm night for the final game of the season BFRO vs PC and it didn’t disappoint. Lots of big plays, flashing leather and arms.
Cucumbers were playing shut down D, holding runners on base and limiting runs.
Offense wasn’t quiet either. Lots of big hits and hustle was more than enough for the Cucumbers to stay cool.
It was a quiet 1st inning for both teams, and out of nowhere Big Pink brought in 5 runs in the 2nd and 4 in the 3rd. Great hitting and even better defensive plays kept Casserole Crew off the board the entire game. Big Pink brought in some insurance runs to close out the game and turned a double play to eliminate runners in scoring position!

In a 10 inning two hour and 25 minute game Hot Balls Summer won on a walk off single. Pippin homers was down 13 at the top of the six and tied it to force extras in the seventh.
Bat and boujee won with help from a 8 run seventh inning.
The championship round did not begin in the favor of the Chin Musicians, as they found themselves down multiple runs with only a few innings left to go. They never lost hope or sight of the goal, however, as the entire team rallied to heat up the bats and tighten the defense. They managed to tie the game heading into the 7th, where they held The Pancake Batters to only one run in the top half—and scored two more runs in the bottom to walk the game off and take the crown.

When it comes to runs, the AASS's are like a sprinkler system. There are a lot of runs dropping about and their score grows big and healthy because of that. Scoring runs is what their competitors had to do tonight in order to have a chance. But the AASSs were really flowing tonight. Hits were seeping to all parts of the field. Just when you think the summer is getting too hot or too dry, the AASS were able to stay cool and bring home the 'ship! Congrats on another title!

Zrrrds came into the playoffs with a tough road ahead. In their first game of the night, they had to get through the number 2 seeded Dingers and Drinkers. This game was a true defensive masterclass as we had a 0-0 game through 4 innings! In what ended being a low scoring game, Josh's 2 run homer in the top of the 7th was just enough of a spark the team needed to hold and advance to the championship game.
After walking it off in their own game, Wrist Banditz took on Zrrrds for the championship title. In another low scoring, defensive game, both teams were back and forth all game long. A few runs were scored here and there with both teams battling back and forth. Again, Zrrrds got the bats going in the 7th inning to help extend a 5 run lead. The Wrist Banditz gave it their best effort, putting up 4 runs in the final inning, but ultimately came up just short in the end. In the hard fought battle between both teams, Zrrrds took down the number 1 seed Wrist Banditz for this years Spring Co-Ed Softball Championship at Westmoreland! Congratulations!
