"Good Volleybrations" is our Tuesday Volleyball champion for the second straight season, defeating "Notorious D.I.G." in three sets. They even fell behind after a 21-19 defeat in game one, but thanks to their resilience they battled all the way back. It actually ended up being a pretty convincing win in the third set, with our champs closing things out with a 21-11 win.
Throughout the season both "Good Volleybrations" and "Notorious D.I.G." were our top squads. Only a 3-0 sweep by "Notorious D.I.G." over our champs was the only thing that separated the two. Even in that game things were close, with one set ending 23-22.
Despite that one loss "Good Volleybrations" rolled through the season, sweeping five different opponents. That included one of the other playoff teams, "Team B", as well as a 2-1 win over their first round opponent "Setting Ducks". "Good Volleybrations" Was unstoppable in that playoff game, taking care of business and winning 21-6, 21-14.
Overall they finish with 9-1 record, including a tie for first in set differential at +17 with none other than "Notorious D.I.G." Congratulations to "Good Volleybrations" on back to back championships!
"What's for Dinner?" is our latest Monday volleyball champion, taking down "Vitamin C" in straight sets 21-10, 21-14. It doesn't get much more one-sided than that in a championship game.
But as one-sided as that score seemed the championship score was indicative of the season as whole, with "What's For Dinner?" making minced meat of their competition week after week.
In fact, they wouldn't drop a set all season en route to a perfect 10-0 record! There were certainly times where things got a bit hairy, particularly against "Volley Llamas", but in the end their superiority won out.
To put things even more into perspective, their +28 set differential was four times better than anyone else in the league. That +7 differential was held by our second and third place teams "That's what she set" and "Vitamin C".
Congratulations on the perfect championship!

Their team name is funny but it undersells this teams abilities! Seeded as third in their league, Drinks and Bad Sets were ready to work their way up and take home the title, a sponsor bar coupon, a fancy champs wrist band and of course... bragging rights!! They weren't blowing anyone out of the water but that was their best strategy. They played a slow and steady game, worrying about one point at a time. Not letting the other team get to them, they played smart. They walked on to the court with a 7-2 standing. Those two losses were to teams that they would be playing in their semifinals and finals but they didn't let history repeat itself! The final scores in the last few sets were close but sure enough they took home the title! Congrats on being our champs!

Bad and Boozie fought their way through the entire season without ever letting up on the intensity and they came out on top! This Indy team hit the ground running. They may be new friends but from the way they all play together and compliment each others skill sets, a bystander would never know that they were new to playing with each other! They walked into the playoffs with a 7-1 standing and funny enough the one team that they had lost to this entire season was the team that they would be playing in the final showdown for the champs title! But they didn't let that get in their way! This team really came together, talked it up, got scrappy, and put in the work! And in the end it paid off! Congrats on being the midcore champs!

In a whirlwind march to the Championship, Straight Shots dug deep and came up victorious! No strangers to playoffs, Straight Shots relies both on their veterans, rookies, and players returning to the court from injured reserve to bring the champs wristbands home.
Throughout playoffs, each team member got to show off their skillz- Kevin going hard at the net, Renee coming in big with impossible digs on defense, and Jeff was a brick wall of blocks. And throughout the night it was clear that no matter how good they are at the sport, Straight Shots really shine when showing off their Ubderdog spirit. These guys have a great time with each other!
Congratulations on your championship season!
What a season played by G-Unit. When on the court the team does a great job of encouraging and talking with each other. Tonight’s game had amazing serves, wicked saves, and great sportsmanship. Players on the team have a great eye for spotting opening on the opposing court. G-Unit does a great job of supporting each other, playing off the last move and being ready to get the ball over. Great game and season G-Unit!
What an awesome season by Spice! They have such great teamwork and are such a fun team to play against. What great communication by Spice, always letting their teammates know where they are. Even then it’s like Spice has a unique spacial awareness of each other. The whole game had amazing serves, digs, and power spikes. They definitely kept the season spicy. Congratulations on your win!!!
What a great win by Cathy and the Jugheads. The players were already to go after every ball. They killed it with only having 5 players on the court, you wouldn’t be able to tell that there was a player missing. The communication between players was on point. They set each other wonderfully and spotted the perfect places to hit spikes to. Great season by Cathy and the Jugheads.
Despite Adrian Moreno and Balta Moreno being in sync and an excellent attack game by Juvenal Reyes, the Titans were still no match for Lil' Empire. Lyndon Carpenter, Rob Pruitt and Lacey Price led the attack for Lil' Empire and Captain Sean Carmell plans on buying Carmen Barbay a shovel for all the digging she did during this exciting championship game. Congratulations Lil' Empire on your victory!
A special thank you to Carolina Ale House for sponsoring this league.
The "Black Panthers" are our Sunday volleyball champions, taking down "Team Best Friends" in a competitive 2 sets to 1 victory. The teams traded 21-19 wins, building toward what we thought would be a great 3rd and final set. Instead the "Black Panthers" were the ones who kicked it to another gear, dealing quite the knockout blow with a 21-11 win to seal the championship victory!
All season the "Black Panthers" had their eyes toward the podium. Thanks to the successful regular season they entered the playoffs as the #2 seed, setting them up with a match up against "House of Pancake" for a spot in the championship. Despite a great effort, "House of Pancake" couldn't overcome being undermanned. In the end the "Black Panthers" won in straight sets.
Overall our champs finish with an 8-2 record to cap off their title-winning season. That includes a string of 5 straight wins to close things out. The cherry on top was defeating "Team Best Friend" in the final, a team who our champs had lost to in the first game of the season.
In all an incredible season for the "Black Panthers"! Now we look forward to seeing if they can defend their title!
Bump Set Brews had an amazing last season game. They have such amazing chemistry as a team. They communicate so well and know where each other are on the court. They killed it with 5 players and played two games in one night. There was power serves, ridiculous volleys, and amazing sets. During the last game, their injured player showed up and cheered on the team. It boosted the team's morale and got them the two wins needed to finish the season. Great season Bump Set Brews!
Empire managed to narrowly defeat Tender Loving Sets in a game that went for 3 matches. A strong attack led by Rob Pruitt with the assistance of Sean Carmell their setter clinched the victory. Congratulations to Empire!
A special thank you to Carolina Ale House for sponsoring this league.
Both teams eagerly await their rematches in our Winter 2019 Coed 6s Volleyball League.
The "Squirrel Friends" are our to Friday night volleyball champions, defeating the "Gold Diggers" in the tile game 2-0. It was a total team effort, with everyone picking up at least one kill throughout the match.
Overall our champs finish with a 7-2 record, including a league-high +12 set differential. That ends up being double the team in second place, "Team B", who finished +5.
In total it was a complete season for "Squirrel Friends", a team that was always strongest just after a loss. Despite losing their first game of the our champs pulled together, winning their next 3 games. Midway through the season they'd lose to their championship game opponent, "Gold Diggers", before winning the next 3 once again to close out the regular season. They stayed hot for the championship game, eventually taking down the "Gold Diggers" in a thoroughly won match.
Congratulations to the "Squirrel Friends" on the incredible season! We wish them the best of luck in the move to Thursdays!
Tonight belonged to the underdogs! Both teams were amped and ready to play. You could feel the energy in the gym. Everyone wanted the win. Shaggin Balls as the lower seed managed to fearlessly fight their way to victory against E! True Hollywood Story.
In Set 1, E! went on 2 serving streaks to gain a decent lead which helped secure their win 25-15. Shaggin Balls were tooled 4 too many times and couldn't get past E!'s towering and pressing blocks.
In Set 2, things turned around for Shaggin Balls! Block after block, tip after tip, and ace after ace, the team slowly and surely gained an 8 point lead. No one could touch the kills by Jet, Chris, Tracy and Kaitie. Jamie's consistent serve receive passes and digs to setter Hilary was impressive! They were jiving and talking and cheering each other on. They snagged a win 25-14.
For the Set 3 tiebreaker, E! started off on a 6 point run in which 2 of those points were aces. Players were hustling and hitting the ground, attackers were smart to mix up their hits and tips and scrappy covering and passing made for long rallies. Shaggin Balls dug their way out of a 7 point deficit to catch up 20-20. It was anyone's game! The momentum after serving an ace aided in Chris' 3 continuous kill points. Shaggin Balls' perseverence paid off for an exciting victory of 25-23.
The underdogs came out on top! All Star Subs as the lower seed went undefeated against Spikosaurus Rex. Their positive attitude, consistent communication and will to fight proved gold and glorious.
Spikosaurus Rex started off Set 1 with a 4 point run. Each team put up amazing blocks. All Star Subs managed to catch up to tie 10-10. Their communication and momentum picked up and they broke away with the lead to take the game 25-18.
Set 2 began with exchanging kills and sneaky tips. Again, All Star Subs went on a run to catch up and take the lead. Their scrappy defense and smart attacks paired with Spikosaurus Rex's unforced errors resulted in All Star Sub's gain where they won 25-14.
In one of the better championship matches it took all three games and a 25-21 win to secure the championship!!!!! Skocats did not lose a match this season and this was only the second time it took three games. It was definitely a team effort and everyone on deck. Great season capped off by a championship!!!!!

This season did NOT start off auspiciously for Volley Moon's. Opening night, they went 0-2. This start might be the [cherry] pits for any other team- but not Volley Moon's. They may have muttered "fudge" or "nuts", but they never let their spirits melt. Over the following weeks, Volley Moon's sampled their competition and things really began to churn! Soon, Volley Moon's were dishing out losses to the competition and to no one's surprise, they found themselves in the title match.
Had you arrived at the gym on sunda[e], you would have been late... or early... and missed the just desserts Volley Moon's was serving up. We saw tremendous play on both sides of the net - scoop after scoop, superman saves, plays that made spectators go bananas! Despite the competitive atmosphere, players emanated the Underdog spirit - no one was chilly or delivering unsportsmanlike [freezer] burns across the net.
When the chips fell, Volley Moon's had earned the "Champs" title! The cherry to top off a season they described as "victorious", "cinnamon", a "rocky road", and ultimately a "gold ribbon". No stranger to Underdog's volleyball scene, this is their third championship in as many years. Memorable moments from this season encapsulate Volley Moon's perseverance: everyone getting sick and the building flood.
Volley Moon's are open to sponsorship.
The Thursday night midcore league title could have gone to a number of teams. Entering into playoffs, there were 3 teams essentially tied for first place, with just a shade of standings differential. Those 3 teams faced off in the semi-finals and finals... no one team clearly would dominate the others. The question on everyone's minds: who will be the champs?!
During the semi-finals, Ace Ventura: Set Detective took on the number one seeded team, Tequila Mockingbird. This was a tense match that saw games one and two split between the two talented teams. Game three was close, but Ace Ventura: Set Detective had the power and was able to fend off Tequila Mockingbird. Two courts over, Night Court laid down the law, and secured their spot in the finals.
The final was just as competitive as you would expect from a two seed / three seed match up. Incredible play all around - hustle, ball control, unbelievable saves, and all-out effort. With over three years and 6 or 7 seasons under their belt, Ace Ventura: Set Detective was not effected by the title match pressure.
Thursday night ended with Ace Ventura: Set Detective adding a second title to their trophy wall! This "rag tag" and "festive" team knew they would finish strong. They attribute the seasons success to Christine ("she made this season possible") and to their collective ability to overcome absences.
Congrats!!
Great season by Only You Can Prevent Campfires! They are a great team to play against with such good banter within the team and with their opposing team. They have such great communication with each other and always know where their teammates are on the court. Over the whole season they have had a consistent team that is ready to play and do they play a great game. Each player has their moment to shine with great sets, powerful serves, killer spikes and sweet digs. The sportsmanship shown by Only You Can Prevent Campfire makes them a great team. What an awesome season! Congratulations Only You Can Prevent Campfire on your win!!

YSNP asserted their dominance on the day early on with their match up against I'd Hit That and continued with their unbelievable performance during the Championship matchup against How I Set Your Mother.
Having played each other earlier in the season, HISYM came in knowing they had a big task ahead of them, but did not let that get in their way from playing a hard fought and highly contested game.
Both teams came up big with spectacular blocks, crushing spikes, and exceptional passes. Both games were close with YSNP taking it away by only a few points.
Captain Eric was a force to be reckoned with and built his team up to match his energy.
"The Rally Bad Puns" are our latest Thursday Volleyball champion after sweeping both their playoff opponents in straight sets! That includes a 2-0 win over defending champion "Smokin' Aces" in back to back 21-19 games. In the semi-finals they cruised to victory as well, defeating "GOOD GAME!" 21-16, 21-10.
Despite a 2-1 loss to "FC Amigos" in their first match of the season, "The Rally Bad Puns" were able to pull together. In fact, after that first loss they went on to win two straight games 3-0. In game 4, our champs would lose to "Smokin' Aces" 2-1, but once again they bounced back by sweeping their final 4 opponents 3-0! After the strong finish to the regular season, they knew they were ready for the tough playoff competition.
Overall "The Rally Bad Puns" finish with a strong 8-2 record. They also finish with a +20 set differential, far outclassing the rest of the league. All of those 3-0 wins certainly helped!
Congratulations to "The Rally Bad Puns" on the incredible season!
Congrats to the Softcore Champs in Everett, the Digging Dinos! Their moves were timeless, but their skills were certainly not prehistoric. The Dinos opened the night with a 2-0 victory in the Semi-Finals against the always fun Midcore Rejects, and went in to the Finals pumped and ready to face the number one seed, When Does Softball Start? Epic plays were made on both sides of the court, but in the end, it was the Dinos that were able to dig their way to victory. Congrats Dinos!

There were so many heavy hits in this Midcore Championship, but in the end, the spoils went to the team with the biggest BANG. The folks of Wala Wala Bing Bang, played two fantastic matches against two great opponents, and gave them both some great competition. Led by their fearless leader, Estanly, who keeps the energy level high and can hit and set from anywhere on the court. This is such a fun team to watch, and their good-natured spirit, and extreme talent paid off tonight when they became the Midcore Champions in Everett. Congrats Wala Wala Bing Bang!

"Good Volleybrations" has won the Tuesday night volleyball championship, edging out "What's in the crock-pot" in a thrilling league final. The teams were evenly matched, but "Good Volleybrations was able to pull away late in the 3rd set to take the 21-15 victory.
Both teams had to get there first though. "Good Volleybrations" made quick work of their first round opponent "Setting Ducks", knocking them out in straight sets 21-9 & 21-5. It wasn't quite as easy for "What's in the crock-pot", though they did sweep "scared hitless" 21-18 & 21-11. With both teams in top form, it was bound to be a thrilling championship.
Overall "Good Volleybrations" finishes a perfect 10-0. More impressively though, they finish with a +23 set differential, dropping only 3 sets on the entire season! To say they were dominant this season would be an understatement. Even better, they went a combined 12-2 in games against playoff teams.
Congratulations to "Good Volleybrations" on the perfect season. The championship was definitely a perfect way to end it!
Congrats to our first ever Softcore Tournament Champs, Namaste! This team was beyond fun to watch. Despite a few players meeting for the first time day of, they quickly began to mesh and were playing like long-time teammates! They had great attitudes and exuded the Underdog mentality by being honest and fun and always calling violations on themselves. Thanks for being such great competitors, Namaste!

Spikes Up was definitely the team to watch. Their moves are precise and their kill shots hit the mark. This team is new to our Eastmoreland Courts but they certainly know volleyball. We love watching a good game and Spikes Up brings the heat! Great job in the tournament and congratulations on the first win!
"I'd Hit That" is our Monday night Volleyball champion, taking out "Whatever Tim Says" in straight sets, 21-11 and 21-17.
All season "I'd Hit That" was on top of the standings, thanks in part to winning their first 6 games on the season. That included three 3-0 sweeps.
However, in their 7th game of the season they finally lost, dropping the match 2-1 to "Balls Deep". That was just a minor trip up though, and the following week our champs got back on track with a 2-1 win just in time for the playoffs.
In the playoffs it was all business for "I'd Hit That", first defeating "Amigos" pretty handily before taking down "Whatever Time Says" in the championship game. Thanks to their playoff dominance, they also finished first in point differential with a +15, capping off a very successful season.
Congratulations to "I'd Hit That" on the championship!
Ball So Hard balled their way to the top! This championship was charged with tons of energy and exquisite volleyball skills. Both challengers played better volleyball than they’ve played all season. In the first set, both teams were warmed up from the semis and were ready to win. Ball So Hard started off with some excellent serves, earning them a strong lead. Their opponent started to catch up, but Ball So Hard responded by placing the ball in open areas of the court. This kept them ahead to win the first set. Their opponent was out for revenge in the second set and began in the lead. They were pumped up from a number of fantastic blocks, but Ball So Hard never gave up. They stayed persistent, making save after save and hitting harder down the middle. It was a close one, but Ball So Hard won the second set, concluding the final match of the season. Excellent job to both teams: everyone worked extremely hard tonight. Congratulations to our Softcore Champions, Ball So Hard!

Calling tonight’s Midcore championships exciting is an understatement. Both teams excelled and played their very best tonight, but Notorious DIG prevailed and rose to the top as champs. There was no time for warm up in the first set, for all players whipped out their hardest hits and jump serves. Blocks by both teams were out of this world. Notorious DIG realized how successful good tipping placement was against their opponent, and they utilized it. This pulled them ahead to win the first set. Their opponent returned in the second set with hits that were simply unstoppable. But Notorious DIG never gave up. They pushed back harder, with harder hits and bigger blocks. Many points and many long rallies later, Notorious DIG earns the final point, closing the final set and concluding as champions. Impressive skills were present on both sides of the net tonight. Congratulations to Notorious DIG, our midcore champions!

The Eggplants have reached the top! Though they all for the first time as an Indy team at the beginning of the season, they clicked quick. They immediately changed their name, uniting them as a team, and took off! Eggplants can add this victory to the list of many more to come! They brought strength from the beginning; especially in the middle. Their aggression was far greater than their opponents, attacking the ball far more. Eggplants scored the first win of the match, and they utilized all of their hitters in the second win. They continued to hit more than their opponent, which proved to be far more effective in earning points. The Eggplants close their match as Midcore 2 Champions! Fantastic offense and defense on both teams. Congratulations to the Indy team, Eggplants, for being victorious!

All About That Ace responded to their opponent’s hard serves with excellent receive. Rallies were nail-biters with tons of incredible saves. After countless kills in the middle, All About That Ace takes the first set. They continue to stay in the lead in the second set, for their middle hits were simply unstoppable. Their opponent didn’t have the corners covered well enough, and that’s just where they were hitting. All About That Ace closes the match with the second win and are now our Softcore Champions! Excellent playing on both sides. Congratulations to All About That Ace!

This match was quite a nail biter. All three sets were extremely close, but even with such high stakes, Net Income rose to victory. In the first set the competition was great, with long rallies due to both of the teams’ scrappiness. Hitters hit with smarts, as many of their kills were as a result of careful placement. Their opponent snatches the first win, but Net Income came back stronger. Players were whipping out their jump serves and hitting from the back row. The middle continued to hit over the block with power and precision. Net Income earns the second set, and continued to fight hard and utilize what was working. The final win went to Net Income, sealing their victory over Midcore. Both teams fought hard tonight. Congratulations to Net Income, our Midcore champions!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot walked onto the courts for Semi Finals with a clean record, ready to defend their title and do whatever it took to make it to the Finals. They got scrappy. They communicated. They had a good time. And then they took the Semi in two sets! Moving on to the Finals, with a double header, they didn't have much time to breathe but that wasn't about to stop them! dFoze put up quite the fight taking the second set all the way to 29-27! Setsy and We Know It came ready to leave it all on the court. They took the Semis in two intense sets and moved directly on to the Finals with little time to recover and regroup but that wasn't a problem for them. The Final was against New Kids on The Block. That was the only team they had lost to this season and New Kids on The Block was the team walking on the court with a clean record. Things were intense from the moment the game started. Both teams knowing it was now ore never! They were talking strategy and evaluating what went wrong after almost every play so that they could bring it back and side out. Despite the fact that their opponents had beat them before Setsy wasn't letting anything get to them and they were able to take the Final in two extremely close sets! Their strategy, scrappiness and communication proved to work for them as they took home the Champs title. Congrats on having an amazing season and being the Midcore Fall Champs!

What a fun final night! All four teams that showed up for the semi-finals were ready to leave it all on the floor in order to take home the championship title. The first game of the night between Straight Shots and Sloppy Sets was competitive as both teams executed killer serves, wild blocks, and smart three touch plays. However Straight Shots took the win in two games, proving to be a tough force with their army of eight players and a 'mascot' supporting from the sidelines. The next game between Shady 4.0 and Spike Club was also competitive, but again ended in two sets sending Shady 4.0 through to the final round. The championship round was a nail biter, with Straight Shots taking the first round and Shady 4.0 taking the second, giving us a third game to decide it all. The energy and communication on the floor made for a fun final game. It was back and fourth the whole time, until Straight Shots pulled through at the end winning 26-24. Congratulations to Straight Shots, our league champs! Special shoutout to the other three teams that made it to the semi-finals, Spike Club, Sloppy Sets, and our second place team Shady 4.0. Great job!

Their team names doesn't seem to do them quite justice! They came to the court ready give it their all and even add in some pretty great sets despite their deceiving team name! Not even a double header was going to wear this team down! They walked away from the Semi Finals with a two set win and walked right into the Finals just a short time later to fight to the finish, point for point, and bring home another two set win along with the Champs Title! They made every point count and even rallied to 27-25 in their last game before walking off as our Softcore Champs! If you want to go far as a team you gotta be willing to get scrappy and loud and they did just that! Congrats on being our Softcore Champs and awesome job taking home a 6-2 record!

It all came down to this night, these final games, and Spike Me Good didn't let any of the pressure get to them. They came to the court ready to fight for every single point, never letting up on the intensity. In the Semi Finals up against Inappropriate Touches it was truly a battle, stretching out to a third set to decide who was moving on. But as Spike Me Good moved on to the Finals it was clear that they had momentum and intensity on their side. Now up against Puff Puff Pass Set Spike it was clear from the minute these teams stepped on the court that these teams were here to give it absolutely everything they had, and they did just that. Going point for point, players getting scrappy and rallies getting longer, you could see the strategies being played out. The air was thick with the intensity of the players and loud with their communication as it was important now more than ever. Spike Me Good shut it down in a two set Final and are the Midcore Champs of this season! Congrats Spike Me Good on your awesome season and your clean record of 9-0!
Some of the best volleyball this year! Bump set beer came out fast and took the first game. The second game was back and forth all the way to the end with you’ve been served winning 26-24. It was supposed to go to a game 3 winner take all finale. In a game that was soooo much fun to watch, these two teams had no quit and I wish it was a best of 5 championship because I wanted more. You’ve been served prevailed with a 27-25 win. Great sportsmanship and very competitive, a joy to watch!!!!!!

The "Pop up blockers" are our latest Sunday volleyball champion, sweeping both opponents in last night's playoffs. First they defeated "Maggie and the Minions" 21-17 and 21-19, followed by knocking out the "Gold Diggers" in the league championship by back to back 21-18 scores.
Thanks to last night's wins our champions finished with a perfect 10-0 record. In total they'd drop just 3 sets all season, making their run just that much more impressive. Due to their dominance they also finish with a +19 set differential, topping a respectable +5 by their championship opponent "Gold Diggers" by a wide margin.
For many on the team it was a momentous way to end the season after a disappointing exit from last season's playoffs as the league's top seed. This time they didn't take anything for granted and didn't let off the gas until the championship was theirs.
Congratulations to "Pop up blockers" on the league title, ending a perfect season in the perfect way!
CC7D went undefeated in their championship game with 5 players, which did not even phase them one bit. One would have thought they had a full squad with the way they were covering the court! During the 1st set, they trailed closely behind Sets on Sets on Sets but was able to catch up due to a serving streak. They were able to close that set at 25-17. They ran with that momentum to finish a quick 2nd set at 25-13. Pressure was definitely on for the 3rd set, where both teams exchanged points with powerful hits, great blocks and awesome cover. They managed to take the 3rd set at 26-24.

In the third and tie breaking set of the season, Notorious D.I.G and NG14 gave their all on the court. NG14 led the set with spikes, strategic tipping and a 5 point run. But then, the better team summoned all of their energy and threw down a crazy run to tie up. Notorious' scrappiness and smart sets paid off for an exciting and close win 25-23.
They began the night with a breezy 25-16 1st set victory. And then, in set 2, NG14 served it up. After trading points, they escaped with the set to even it at 1-1.

"Just the Tip" is our Tuesday champion, completing a perfect 10-0 season with a pair of victories on Tuesday night!
In a night filled with competitive matches "Just the Tip" rose to the top time and time again. First they took on "Good Volleybrations" where they swept the #4 seed by the score of 2-0. It wasn't as easy as it sounded though, with our champs winning the first set 23-22 before cruising to a 21-13 win in set 2.
On the other side of the bracket the "Flying Fijians" were fresh off a slim 2-1 win over "FC Amigos". The "Flying Fijians" lost a close first set, but were able to rally and win the final two to pull out the victory.
In the championship game "Just the Tip" jumped out to a 1-0 lead after notching a close 21-19 victory. The "Flying Fijians" fought back, as they did in the previous round, winning the second set 22-20 and forcing a winner take all final set. It was there that "Just the Tip" would put the game and the season away, running away with a 21-15 victory.
To say "Just the Tip" was dominant is an understatement . Overall they finished with a +21 set differential, nearly doubling second place. In all they swept their opponent six times, and the only teams did lose a set to were all playoff teams. To be the best you have to beat the best and that's what they did consistently throughout the season!
Congratulations to "Just the Tip" on the incredible undefeated record along with their championship!

Tonight’s final matchup between I Wanna Sets You Up and Bump Set Brews was epic as expected. These two teams have faced off against one another many times and it never gets old. The volleys back and forth are incredible, one second the spike is careening toward the sand and out of nowhere it pops back up and the play continues. What struck me this week as I watched this match was the effort that the players made to curb their frustrations into hilarious and effective non-curses to protect the ears of an impressionable attendee. We are all adults and frustrations happen, that’s a fact, but it’s quite funny to listen to creative words as stand ins for the classics. Great job on your win I Wanna Sets You Up!

Tonight’s final matchup with Volley Parton and the Indy team was fantastic! There were digs and comebacks that I never would have expected to make it back over the net, yet some how they still did. The games were close and competition was fierce, and then came the friends. Halfway through the second set Volley Parton got a boost of energy from their Groupies! They even had shirts to call out their loyalty (check out the team page photos). This gave Volley Parton the momentum to finish out strong and bring home a victory. Congratulations of your win Volley Parton!

"Smokin' Aces" is our latest Thursday night champion, taking down "Just the Tip" in 3 sets. Our champions started off hot in the 1st round of the playoffs, knocking off the #1 team from the regular season "Team A 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸" in straight sets. That included quite the statement in game 2, where they won 21-11, leaving no doubt that these 'Aces' meant business.
By the time the championship game came around they were firing on all cylinders. "Smokin' Aces" won the first set handily at 21-14, though "Just the Tip" clawed their way back into the match winning the 2nd set 22-20. However, our champs were able to wrestle control of the match in the title-deciding third set by winning 21-15.
All season the "Smokin' Aces" knew they had a shot at the title, despite their #4 seed in the playoffs and sneaking into the playoffs. If it hadn't been for a win over "Team A 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸" in the last week of the regular season, then it would be an entirely different team on the podium. That wasn't the case though, as "Smokin' Aces" brought their best when it mattered most. Thanks to that, they are the league champions. Congratulations to "Smokin' Aces" on an incredible season!
"Volley Nation" is our Monday Volleyball champion, sweeping both opponents in a competitive nig of playoff games. Despite the sweeps they had a few close calls, but nothing they couldn't overcome.
In the first round our champs took on "Amigos", the #5 seed who squeaked into the playoffs. They won their first round match 2-1, but ran into the buzzsaw that was "Volley Nation" in round 2. After getting beat handily 21-12 in game 1 against our eventual champs they came back and put up a fight in game 2, almost stealing a win to force a third game. Unfortunately for them, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
In the championship game "Balls Deep" came in hot, upsetting the #2 squad "Whatever Tim Says" by a total of 4 points in both games. The same couldn't be said for their match up versus "Volley Nation", who narrowly won game 1 21-19. They stayed red-hot for game 2, trouncing "Balls Deep" and taking the championship by the score of 21-13.
Congratulations to "Volley Nation" on the successful season! Overall they finish with an incredible 9-1 record, leading the league in set differential (+14) along the way!
The Barbarians came in strong to the playoffs holding the number 1 seed. Not all teams can handle a week off and then roll into a final round of playoffs. They began taking on the Frosted Tips, and came out victorious rolling them right into a battle with the Rusty Digs II. An awesome game for the final! Barbarians again came out on top taking home the coveted Champs wristbands. Congratulations Barbarians on your victory!

Against the odds this group of kick ass ladies worked their way up the final bracket. Taking on the Indy team first they proved their ranking. Next with an upset against the Sandy Balls they came in for the win! Tonight for finals they were so ready for the competition that the Northwest Sunsetters didn’t know what to do with them. Spice came into the playoff rounds in the bronze position fighting their way through each round of play. First taking on the Half & Half they proved they are meant to be in the finals. The ending matchup with Average Joe’s Too was very exciting! Huge hits back and forth on both sides, their blocking game was strong. In the end Spice came out with a win. Congratulations Spice on your victory!

What an exciting match! Tonight, both teams played their best game all season. Early in the game, Floppy Balls lead a steady run with their dominating serves. Their opponent was quick and scrappy, but Floppy Balls pursued. One of their players executed the final swing to win the first set. Continuing in the second set, rallies were much longer. Floppy Balls remained on their toes as their opponent became more confident in their passes and hits to put up a stronger offense. Their hustle and perseverance allowed them to rise to the top to victory. Excellent athleticism by both teams. Congratulations to Floppy Balls, our Softcore Champions!

Baltazar Moreno led his team to victory over Keith Dutterer's Space Fourz in a Championship bout that went through 3 games. The first game was won by Space Fourz 22-20. Balta rallied the troops and came back with a vengeance winning the next two games 21-10 and 15-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the Fall 2018 season of Sand 4's Volleyball starting 9/4.
Special Thanks to Carolina Ale House for providing gift cards to first and second place teams in the play-offs.
Setsy was textbook, dictionary defined, money ball bump, set, spiking. They came out hungry taking the 1st set. Sportland stayed competitive initially and put points on the board early, but Setsy's 8-0 run in the first minutes ultimately dominated the outcome. Hot off their 2 set championship win, Setsy rallied to dive into a 3rd set just for fun. They were volleyball enthused and couldn't get enough! CONGRATS SETSY.

What a beautiful evening for a victory lap! Tonight’s undisputed champion was PBT. This team is so much fun to play that they scared off the second place team all together. No matter, these folks were here to play and that’s exactly what they did. When there was no other way they found a way to have an awesome 2 on 2 match! "The Regulators" are our latest Sunday champions, knocking out both the #1 and #2 seeds en route to the title!
It all started in their first game of the night against title favorite "Boo-Berries", where our champs got hot. The took down the heavy favorite in straight sets, first 21-19 and then 21-17, putting other teams in the playoffs on notice. Meanwhile, those other two teams fought hard, but #2 "Team D" scraped by "Hit or Miss" to make it to the finals despite dropping the first game.
In the championship "The Regulators" proved that in volleyball, hustle and determination can overcome all. They lost a heart-breaker in game one 21-19, but rallied back to take the second game 21-18. With momentum on their side they'd blow "Team D" out in game 3, 21-10, sealing their fate as league champions!
In all it was quite the turbulent season for "The Regulators". At one point they followed up a string of three straight wins with three straight losses and were never able to quite find their foothold on the league. They'd even finish with a set differential of 0, 4th among the 8 teams. However, a strong 2-1 performance in the final night of the regular season secured their playoff spot and the rest was history. A phenomenal playoff night of games for "The Regulators" and a much deserved win. Congratulations to them on the league title!
It's the end of summer sand volleyball at Eastmoreland, and the sad thing is we never learned what a JERB is???? No matter, JERB is composed of four fabulous athletes who pound it out all summer long to come out victorious in the Softcore 1 division on Thursdays. JERB brings along an entourage of fans every week and they were particularly supportive in their championship game vs. Green Bombers. In a nail-biter of competition, JERB and Green Bombers traded games one apiece before JERB put an end to the match with a final game victory and championship to claim. Whatever you are JERB, we like it and salute your victory!

Hats off to Softcore 2 champs Dirty Sets for staving off a lot of close calls and points to opponents Sandy Beaches in their quest for the title. The teams were well-matched and pounded out the points, but in the end, Dirty Sets got what they came for and that was a championship. They struggled a bit losing the first set, but regained their strength and resolve and came back to win the last two sets, the championship, USL headbands and the customary gift card to our sponsor bar. Congrats to David, Jonathan, Candice and Alla for a great season and very impressive win the the Softcore 2 championships!

Midcore Championship finals at Eastmoreland on Thursday night was a great battle between Awkward High Fives and Sets on Sets on Sets. Awkward High Fives have been together so long they know exactly what their teammates can do and they do it all well. With Angelina and Tobie taking charge of the serves and Matt and Chad pounding away at the net, the foursome got the job done in quick fashion winning all three sets. Sets on Sets on Sets provided some athletic and determined competition, but just couldn't find a defense against what Chad was throwing down at net. No awkwardness here - they're champs and quite confident!

Legend has it, if you chant “Moneky Paws” three times and then win four sets of volleyball in a row, you will become the Underdog Gabriel Park Division I Summer Sand Volleyball Champion. For the first time in our lifetime, the stars aligned, and the prophecy came true!

"Just the Tip" is our Tuesday Volleyball champion, taking down last season's champ "FC Amigos" 2-0 in consecutive 23-21 sets. The win is probably a bit of sweet redemption as well after FC Amigos" knocked them out of the playoffs last season.
It was a rocky start to kick things off for "Just the Tip", dropping two of their first three games in 3-0 fashion, the first of which came to "FC Amigos".
But our champions wouldn't let that get them down, rallying from a tough start to win their remaining 5 games of the season. That run even including a couple of 3-0 wins, boosting them back up the standings.
"Just the Tip" entered the playoffs as the #3 seed, right behind a strong "Gold Diggers" squad who they faced in the first round. Despite being the better team this season "Gold Diggers" wasn't good enough last night, and "Just the Tip" made them pay. The games were close, but our champs were in control the entire way.
The championship game would be no different score-wise, though the games were a lot tougher and a lot closer. "FC Amigos" gave them all they had, but it wasn't enough.
Congratulations to "Just the Tip" on the league title!

The Never Nudes came to play tonight. Their last championship came 3 years ago and they were ready to take the title back. After a slow start to the first game, they never looked back. Saundra was serving a wicked game and Hilary was making big blocks. They were backed by some awesome diving saves by the guys. The rolled into the second game and continued to push through. The "Stallions" are our league champion for the second time, picking up where they left off after taking a season off. Throughout the regular season they were a top contender, and in the end proved it in the playoffs as well. In total their +22 point differential was by far the best in the league. Incredibly, they would only lose 3 total sets all season!
They entered the playoffs as the #2 team, albeit with the same record as their eventual championship opponent, and top seed, "Kiss My Ace". True to the bracket these two top teams swept their lower ranked opponents 2-0, setting us of for a 1v2 championship match.
It was quite the anticipated match, as "Kiss My Ace" had been the only team all season to defeat the "Stallions". The first game would prove just that, ending in a nail-biting 23-22 victory for our eventual champs. They would then go on to carry the momentum for that win and take the second as well in a more convincing 21-16 match winner.
Congratulations to the "Stallions" on an incredible season, and most importantly another championship. Well done!
"Team D 🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆" is our Thursday Volleyball champion, sweeping their way through the playoffs.
Things couldn't have gotten off to a better start for our eventual champions on Thursday night, winning their first game 21-4. Before "The Avengers" knew what hit them they had lost game 2 as well, although they did put up a fight.
On the other side of the playoff bracket two seasoned teams faced off, with "Just the Tip" defeating "Smokin' Aces" in back to back sets. Both teams are extremely familiar with each other in the playoffs, and this time "Just the Tip" was the better squad.
In the championship game "Team D 🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆" was all business once again, cruising to an early 1-0 lead with a 21-12 game 1 win. "Just the Tip" fought hard to force a third game, but our champs were just too good and would close out the season with a strong 21-15 win.
Congratulations to "Team D 🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆" on winning the league title!

Shaggin' Balls is a bit of a broken record in Midcore playoffs because once again, they were the Golden State Warriors of the league and won the Division 1 championship in a 2-0 match win versus Sara and the Rural Jurors on Tuesday at St. Charles. Brad and Chris crushed the attack in the front row, Tracy, Lisa and Lindsey kept up the defense with magnificent saves and sets and Jamie was her usual impeccable self at the service line. The question is - what are they doing with all those USL headbands they win???? Congrats to Shaggin Balls for the win and the addition to their wristband collection!

In two close first and second games, Too Legit was able to keep the scores even, but dropped the second set to force a third set showdown. A regroup and strategy re -energized them and off to work they went with Captain Carrie keeping the squad on their toes and ready for whatever came their way. "Amigos FC" is our latest Tuesday Volleyball champion after a convincing championship game win! Season after season they have been a contender, only to fall just short of a title. However, they put it all together and this was finally THE season for them.
Overall our champs finished with an 8-2 record, but that didn't come without challenges. In fact, "Amigos FC" started the season 0-2, falling to two tough opponents to start the season. However, they kept playing their game and eventually came out on top, finishing the season with 8 straight wins. That included back to back 2-0 sweeps in the playoffs.
In those playoffs #4 "Gold Diggers" won in a surprising upset over the top team all season "Good Volleybrations". Meanwhile, "Amigos FC" fought off a tough "Just the Tip" squad who wanted a chance at redemption after losing in the final last season. In championship game "Amigos FC" was by far the better team, winning 21-15 and 21-10 to secure the championship.
Congratulations on the fantastic season!

"Amigos" is our Monday Volleyball champion, taking down "I'd Hit That" in a thrilling two sets to one finale. Both teams had their ups and downs throughout the game, but it was "Amigos" who made it count in the third set to take the victory.
All season long the two teams were head and shoulders above the regular season, poised to inevitably face each other in the championship game. In their two regular season match-ups the embattled opponents split wins, making the title game that much more pressure packed.
For "Amigos", it was a strong season, finishing with a +13 point differential, good for tops in the league with "I'd Hit That". In all they swept their opponent 4 times this season, the sign of a well-rounded team.
Congratulations to them on winning the Monday night title and closing out the season with a bang!

"Good Volleybrations" has successfully defended their Tuesday night Volleyball championship after squeaking into the playoffs as the #5 seed. As the lowest seed our champs had to fight off an extra opponent, but that didn't matter much to them when all was said and done!
It was a roller coaster of a regular season for "Good Volleybrations", going 4-4 and struggling to put together any kind of winning streak. However, they were able to squeak into the playoffs, and boy did they make it count.
All three playoff games were decisive 2-0 victories for "Good Volleybrations", as if they were saving everything they had for the playoffs. That started with a win over "Good Volley Ms. Molly", followed by a second over "FC Amigos", the top team from the regular season and one of the favorites to win the whole thing! The win also came despite a tough 3-0 loss to them earlier in the season.
In the championship "Good Volleybrations" took on "Just the Tip", another team who pulled off an upset just the round prior. They defeated "Spin Doctors with a two sets to none victory, though their winning ways were ground to a halt by our champs. Only one team can come out a winner in the end, and this season, for the second time in a row, it was "Good Volleybrations". Congrats to them on the championship!
The "Islanders" are our Monday Volleyball champions, avenging last season's early playoff exit against "Amigos" with a finals win! It was a convincing win as well, taking down "Amigos" 2-0 in the championship game.
All season the "Islanders" were the top dog, going undefeated and finishing with a 9-0 record. In fact, they were so dominant they only dropped 2 sets all season! Coincidentally, both of those sets were in 2-1 victories over "Amigos".
Throughout the season our champions couldn't be stopped, finishing with an unprecedented +22 point differential, leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else. While the other teams were battling it out for a shot in the championship, the "Islanders" were breezing through the season at the top of the league awaiting their opponent. In the end, their opponent was no match for them in the championship game.
Congratulations to "Islanders" on an incredible season, and while we wish them the best of luck next season, we doubt they'll need it after this past season's performance!
"Hella Setzy" is our latest Sunday Volleyball champion, smashing "Notorious D.I.G." in a 2-0 finals win. While both games started out competitively, "Hella Setzy" was able to pull away at the end of each set and cruise to victory.
Throughout the season "Hella Setzy" was a favorite to win it, finishing second in the regular season with a strong 6-2 record. One of those losses came at the hands of the #1 seed "The Regulators" in the third week of the season, but "Hella Setzy" was able to brush the loss off and win the next three games by a combined score of 7-2.
In the end consistency was the key all season for our champions, topping the league with a +8 point differential. Their championship opponent only mustered a +4, while "The Regulators" finished with a +7 after their disappointing first round exit.
Congratulations to "Hella Setzy" on the championship, and we can't wait to see if they can make it two in a row next season!
"Just the Tip" is back on top after a 2-0 win in last night's championship. Both "Just the Tip" and "Smokin' Aces" faced off in last season's playoff game as well, but with opposite results. This time though "Just the Tip" ends as the victor, and rightly so!
All season both "Just the Tip" and "Smokin' Aces" were the top dogs, on a crash course to meet in the championship. During the playoffs they both took care of their first round opponents as expected. That doesn't mean it was easy though, as our champions were pushed in their first two games versus "Blue Mooners" before finally showing their championship pedigree and cruising to a strong win in the third set.
All season "Just the Tip" was dominant, and when they were at their best, they couldn't be stopped. All of their regular season wins were 3-0 sweeps, and overall they had a +19 point differential. Eventually they carried those winning ways to the playoffs, where it paid off big. Congratulations on the title, and we wish them the best of luck next season!
It was a close one! But yet again, Notorious was victorious. Their opponent definitely did not make it easy. The first set was fairly close as their opponent brought out a strong block that they couldn’t quite get through. But Notorious DIG persisted, and began to push their hits through the block, while putting up a powerful block of their own. They came into the second set pumped up from the victory of their first, but their opponents were pumped up too. It was close, but Notorious DIG pulled the win. Fantastic athleticism by both teams. Congratulations Notorious DIG!

Starting off our night of championships was Can You Dig It versus Kiss My Ace. It was an exciting match! Can You Dig It started off with the lead, recording many aces off their killer float serves and kills on the outside. Their opponent caught back up with their deadly dose of service aces and kills. Both teams were hitting like no other, but Can You Dig It finished the first set strong. In the second set, Kiss My Ace was back for revenge, serving and hitting harder than before while putting up a massive block at the net. Kiss My Ace won close in the second set, but Can You Dig It pursued in the third, and dominated. Congrats on the big win Can You Dig It!

Sloppy Sets had two back-to-back victories tonight. Not only did they win the semi-finals, but they dominated the finals as well. Their opponents tried to trick them in the first set by tipping to spots they weren’t and pushing the ball to the deep corners. Sloppy Sets caught on quick, and recovered their lost points with fantastic and consistent serves. Excited from the successful outcome of the first set, Sloppy Sets continued to challenge the other team. Though they were brought back by a few miscommunications, they started to give their opponents a taste of their own medicine with smart tip placement. Sloppy Sets rose to the challenge and proved victorious. Excellent playing tonight, Sloppy Sets!

Both teams were certainly scrappy out there tonight. Though Scrappy Ninjas proved their name well, their triumph was definitely not easy. Their opponent brought in the big guns with powerful hitters in all positions and great tip placement. But it was no match for Scrappy Ninjas’ insane scrappiness, making for a successful win in the first set. The second set was without a doubt the closest. With the help of their solid teamwork and encouragement, Scrappy Ninjas shook off their errors and continued to persist. They revealed a powerful asset: their jump serves. Scrappy Ninjas rose to the top with a close win in the second set, securing their championship title. Scrappy Ninjas are the Midcore 2 champs! Congrats!

What an exciting match! Attack Pack and Net Positive played their hearts out tonight. Both teams recorded fantastic kills, booming serves, and jaw-dropping saves. There was no room for error in this game; everyone started out tough and hungry for a win. The first set was close with each team scoring up runs of about five points each. Attack Pack utilized their opponent’s service errors and followed with hard serves and excellent passing, which won them the first set. The second set was also very close, as players began to hit smarter and harder. Their opponents, however, never gave up, and challenged them to the very end. It was a close set, but Attack Pack rose to the top. An excellent job by both teams! Attack Pack remains undefeated! Congratulations!

In a mild-blowout between Bump N’ Grind and Back That Ace Up, Back That Ace Up took the W! Although they were missing 2 players, they swept the other team with only 4 bodies! BTAU won 2-0 and took every point to their advantage. With a constant hustle and desire to win, they powered through the night and still have energy left! The players of BTAU showed their best skills tonight, and they are very proud of their victory! Congratulations, Back That Ace Up!

The Early Fall Midcore champs, Sets on Sets on Sets made sure to make it two in a row as they roared into the semifinals on Thursday night at St. Charles. Facing #2 seed Bump Up the Jam, the Sets gave a brilliant performance on all fronts. With consecutive service points from Rebecca and Rene playing out of his head at net, the Sets cruised to a three to zip victory over the Jam. After taking a break during which How I Set Your Mother beat Cathy & the Jugheads, SoSoS came roaring back in the finals with more energy than ever, easily taking the first two sets and the championship. Captain Skyler and his teammates are obviously making it their goal to grab every championship they can, or so they declared after their victory on Thursday night. Congrats to all the Thursday night Midcore teams at St. Charles for a fabulous season and playoffs!

For the second season in a row, the stellar Volley Lama has come out victorious. This team played tough all night, and fought back from being behind in several games. That might be one of the greatest aspects of this team! They stick together, and never give up, and are never to be counted out regardless of the point difference. This season's championship match was no different. They played a tough team of Twerking Pirates, but in the end the spoils went to the Lamas. Congrats on another killer season!!

This season's champions are All About That Ace! They had two great games in the finals of playoffs, and did battle with two very worthy opponents. Communication, chemistry, and skill are at the heart of this team who puts up a fight in every match. Not only that, but two of their players came out strong and played both games despite being injured. Based on performance, this fact couldn't have been less apparent! They hit hard, went after every ball, and came through with some epic digs off of hits from a very hard hitting moovel team. This team killed it tonight! Congrats All About That Ace!

It was an amazing championship night with four great teams! 2 Legit 2 Hit pushed through to win it all! They had good teamwork, kept up the intensity, communicated well, and encouraged each other :) With only four players most of the season they had to work harder every week. Alaina had patience with digs, consistent strong serves, and power spikes! Megan was the super setter with a kneel set and even a one handed punch set! Also she had at least two incredible noteworthy blocks! Ryan hustled and wouldn't let a ball drop! He is a spectacular hitter who can hit any ball no matter how low or off to the side sometimes even using this very effective backhand type hit! Sean was quick with dive saves and nice spikes! He also picked up balls on serve receive like nobody's business and was faithful with his captains duties! Fantastic season team 2 Legit 2 Hit!!

"Good Volleybrations" has won the Tuesday Volleyball championship, knocking out a tough "FC Amigos" squad in the final. The score may show 2-0, but in reality each set was extremely close, with "Good Volleybrations" pulling through in the clutch each time.
Perseverance also paid off after this same team suffered a tough loss in last season's championship game. It also marks the second straight season "Good Volleybrations" has knocked "FC Amigos" from the playoffs.
It was a fantastic season for "Good Volleybrations", ending their regular season as the second best team. Only "FC Amigos" was better, but head to head our champs beat them twice; once in the regular season and most importantly in the championship. They'd also finish with a league best +11 point differential, thanks in part to some dominant play this season.
A great end to a successful season "Good Volleybrations", and we look forward to their title defense in the upcoming season!
Straight Shots and Scared Hitless both rallied off W's Monday night to advance to the championship match. Straight Shots played aggressive to sweep the first set. Scared Hitless wasn't going down easy and gave Straight Shots a run for their money stealing the second set. Thanks to a well-balanced team with fresh legs and subs off the bench, Straight Shots closed in and took the title. They persevered and held electric energy the entire game. No doubt, they earned the trophy!

It’s been a long playoff road for the 21 Bump Street players. They’ve taken each of their games to 3 rounds the entire two weeks of play. We’re guess they just love the game so much that they wanted to get every single minute out of it. Tonight was no exception as the 21 Bump Street went at it twice tonight against some tough opponents. Several games ending in just a two point spread they came out victorious! Such competitive and fun games to watch this team has fun on and off the court. Congratulations 21 Bump Street on your championship win!

No. 1 ranked "The Triple Hits" beat No. 3 ranked "That's What She Set" in a back-and-forth battle to become the champions of Augusta Sports Leagues first Coed Quick 6s league. In a match that starts as a nail-biter "The Triple Hits" won game 1 21-19, followed by a win for "That's What She Set" 21-15, and "The Triple Hits" came back to win the match 21-12. All teams really enjoyed the short format to carry teams between Fall and Winter league, especially for Tuesday Sand Volleyball teams that are normally left out until March.

"Net Results" is our Monday Volleyball champion, capping off their perfect 10-0 season with a sweep in the finals. Their skill was on full display all night, dropping just one set throughout the playoffs. That included wins of 21-10 and 21-7 in the championship game over "Amigos".
"Amigos" in their own right had a great season, picking up the first round playoff win over favored "Wonder Island" to make it to the finals. Earlier in the season they lost 3-0 to the very same team. However, come championship time, they were totally over-matched.
To say "Net Results" was dominant this season would be an understatement, even by their standards. The two-time Monday night champion was the best team all season by a long-shot, racking up a +24 point differential. Only once ALL SEASON did they even lose a game, and that was in the first round of the playoffs to "Red Hot Sets". If not for that game, "Net Results" would have had a spotless season. Either way, it was still an incredible season for the back to back champions.
Dominating serves brought the championship to Achieving Ambitionz.
All team members brought their best game.
Shaggin Balls had been in the finals four times before Tuesday night at St. Charles so they know a thing or two about how to achieve the championship. Meeting a very strong opponent in E! True Volleywood Story, who just came off a well fought win against CC7D in the semifinals, Shaggin Balls were in top form with great serving by Lindsey and Chris, ferocious kills by Brad, impeccable setting by Lisa and Jamie all while Tracy kept E! on their toes by making unbelievable saves. The Shaggers have the ability to encourage and coach each other so that each one brings their specialty of the sport every time they play. Donning the USL headbands and fist pumping their victory, Shaggin Balls grabbed their fifth championship title with athleticism, teamwork and class. Congrats to Shaggin Balls and E! True Volleywood Story for a great season and finals!

The "Falcons" are our Sunday Volleyball champs for a second straight season, cutting through the playoffs with ease. Our champions entered the night as the #4 seed after a rough end to their regular season, dropping their final two games after starting 6-0. The two late losses meant an extra playoff game, but in the end that didn't matter too much.
In fact it may have served to help the "Falcons" get back on track. In their first game of the night they took on "The Regulators", sweeping them 2-0. They would also sweep the top seed "Spikological Warfare" in straight sets to book their ticket to the finals.
In the championship is was much of the same against championship hopeful "Hot Sauce". The #3 seed battled well against "I'd Hit That", winning their match 2-0. However, Despite their best efforts, the defending champion brought their 'A' game and couldn't be handled. In a fitting end for "Falcons", it was a third 2-0 sweep of "Hot Sauce" en route to back to back titles.
Congratulations to "Falcons" on another great season!
Ballz Deep and Fly Me to Maroon faced off in the championship match for Midcore 2 on Thursday night. Fly Me to Maroon entered the match after a nail-biting semi-final game against That’s What She Set. Fly Me to Maroon started strong against Ballz Deep, using their momentum from the previous match. But soon, Ballz Deep warmed up and started swinging hard and finishing scrappy plays. Ballz Deep covered the court with just four players and frustrated their opponent’s offense by not letting any balls hit the floor. Ballz Deep’s consistent play led them to win the decisive match. Congratulations Ballz Deep!

It was hard to tell who would come out on top during the championship match for Softcore Volleyball on Thursday night. Both teams looked strong and consistent through out the first set. Rallies were long and neither team seemed willing to give up. Block You Like a Hurricane took the first game 26-24. At the beginning of the second set, the pressure waves in the gym started to resonant with a particular frequency. Was that “Rock You Like a Hurricane” I heard coming from the speakers, an omen of good things to come? Whether it was the music or just positive vibes among the players, Block You Like a Hurricane jumped out to an early lead in the second set and never looked back. Congratulations Block You Like a Hurricane! Great season!

With a diverse offense and a scrappy defense, Notorious D.I.G. is indeed “notorious” among midcore volleyball teams, and they lived up to their reputation on Thursday night. Notorious D.I.G. faced off against Safe Sets in the championship match. In the first set, the score stayed close until D.I.G. had a string of kills, as their setter distributed the ball outside, middle, and back, leaving her hitters with one-on-one match ups. D.I.G. seized the first set, and then took an early lead in the second with a run of aces from Brigitte F. From there, D.I.G. didn’t let up and pushed to finish the match and the season undefeated. Nice work, Notorious D.I.G.!

What a game between Unprotected Sets and Air High Fives! It was an even match that was well fought and had suspenseful twists and turns that left the bystanders restless. Not only was the game intense, but also full of questionable moves. With balls that hung on the top edge of the net for what seemed like forever and backhanded tips (tip/spike?), nobody could guess how the game would end.
Although the teams played evenly, Unprotected Sets pulled all the stops and showed everyone that they were the champs! Paige had amazing intuition at the net and had some unbelievable blocks that rejected sneaky tips, while Matthew dished out killer serves. Nearing the end, two points away from winning the game, the opponents got four kills in a row to try to catch up! Unprotected Sets settled and centered themselves, finishing the competitors off with two swift points. It was a great match between two tough teams, but there can only be one in the end...
Sleeping Beauties had a great season and were able to finish it off with a championship. Things could have gone differently however, in their semifinals game they used a long scoring streak to come thundering back from a hefty deficit in the third set and rode it to victory. In the finals they rode that momentum and were able to hold off the opposition through strong serves and good team play all the way through.

Tight first game - both teams had solid passing and great coverage. After a long battle, Bam Bam secured the first set. The competition heated up in the second set as Bam Bam took an early lead with scrappy played that were finished with solid swings from the outside. Refusing to give up, the Volley Llamas continued to fight, putting up blocks and sending the ball back with fire. But it wasn't quite enough to stop Bam Bam's solid teamwork. Congratulations Bam Bam!

Hard swings and scrappy digs on both sides of the court. Planet Volleywood came out on top for the first set with a string of tough serves, taking and early lead. The team's chemistry continued to fuel a diverse offense, always sending a hard-driven ball across the net. The Ruckus put up a tough fight, but it wasn't enough. Congratulations Planet Volleywood for winning the midcore bracket!

What an exciting match! Using all of their best assets, both teams were engaged and excited about their victories. The first set set was fairly neck-and-neck with fantastic hits and saves by both teams, but Attack Pack’s serves were too strong and they utilized their right side hitter effectively. The second set started strong for Attack Pack, with hard smackdowns and aces. Their opponent, The M’s, started to gain strength in the middle of the set. The M’s never gave up and remained positive, but Attack Pack secured their win with their unbeatable team cooperation. Overall it was an excellent job done by both teams. Congratulations on the big win, Attack Pack!
